The food was amazing! As a Mexican student at Purdue, I was so happy to find a place that gave me a little piece of home. Id recommend the tacos, chilaquiles, the horchata (Mexican rice milk drink), and the green salsa. Remember to put lime on your tacos for an extra bit of freshness and juiciness!

We came here on recommendation from a friend and grabbed some takeout. The food here is fantastic - we had a quesadilla and tried a few of their tacos. Everything was spot on. They included mounds of fresh cilantro and cebolla on the tacos and such a generous portion of meat that I had to munch those tacos from both ends. The meats were nicely browned and spiced. The fajitas are alright, but not as good as the tacos.It is definitely worth a try.

We did take out. There was a little bit of a wait to get the food but it was worth it. I had the 3 Amigos Tostada and I 100% recommend this dish, it was great flavors and crispy tortillas. The rice was a little basic and the beans were liquidy but it was delicious. The green spicy salsa is amazing! The banana milk is also a great way to complete the meal. Good Mexican cuisine.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I have encountered the same result twice, and therefore will no longer be giving this joke of a restaurant a chance. Ordered food for delivery on Grubhub, order was accepted and supposedly went out for delivery. 45 mins after the maximum delivery window provided I tried to call the restaurant to check the status. No answer, so I tried several more times. Same result. I try to support local restaurants because I know with the virus things can be difficult for them, but this place deserves to go out of business. Very unprofessional, and from the few times I’ve actually gotten my orders, the food isn’t great.

In a terrible run down location. The prices of some of the items are a reach considering that and food quality. There are ongoing sanitary insect issues at hand. They also have a grocery store. It is authentic food. If you go, bring your Clorox keep and eye out so you don’t get robbed in the parking lot and hope that you have an healthy immune system.

Paid 35$ for 2 of us (got waters as drinks too)... that’s double the price of another restaurant. food wasn’t that good - not enough to be that much. chips were good - they tasted store bought. queso was okay, it was small and nothing worth $8.99. steak was also okay, it was different. service was good - the host was super nice (he was wearing sperrys if that helps the description). would not recommend eating here. way too pricey for not good food.

Hands down the most excellent Mexican restaurant in the area. The al pastor is to die for, and is more flavorful and delicious than any al pastor Ive had anywhere else in the area. Everything they make is excellent. They are more generous with their meat in their burritos and other dishes than anyone else in town. Seriously, do yourself a favor and eat here, or get takeout, or whatever. You will not find better Mexican food anywhere else in Tippecanoe county.

Their tacos are one of the best tacos I have ever had. The menu is reasonably priced and the customer service is amazing. I really like this place, and I wish it could be a little closer to the university.

Ordered online and was told that food will be ready in 20mins. I arrived later than that and they couldn’t even find my order, told me to wait and then the guy came back and didn’t even tell me anything. I had to ask and was told to wait 10minutes, so I guess they started cooking now huh. It eventually took 20 minutes and I didn’t get any apologies whatsoever. What a waste of my time and tip, should never have ordered from here let alone tipping before getting your food.

Friendly gentleman at the pick up counter, order was ready right when they said it would be. Food (chicken enchiladas) had lots of flavor. I would order again and try out another menu item.

They have really good tacos. My friends enjoy it as well. It looks like a family run business. They offer a lot of options on their menu. Im not an expert, but it feels authentic.

If you were to ask me to describe this restaurant in one word, that word would be lazy. I come here on and off and I realize more that this place isnt that great. I been to Los Angeles many times and I tell you right now if a Mexican restaurant like this was placed in L.A, it would go out of business quicker then gossip. The people that work are slow, the food I see is uncared for. meats cut in lazy way, food created in lazy way. Just everything lazy vibe. However, I really cant go too crazy over this because this is West Lafayette standard. That location is a bit lower then blue collar location and these people cant really tell what their eating (quantity over quality). I am sure there just shoving food in their mouths, not know the meat fats are not even properly squeezed out. Just fats, oils, carbs is what I taste. Thus for this location, it good enough standard, but really if this was located in L.A... yeah right.

They seem to keep somewhat odd dinner hours for being in/near a college town (likely explained in part by being family-operated), and everything Ive had has been to go rather than eating in, but all of its been good and was reasonably priced. They have tortas, which I generally consider a fairly decisive indicator of a good, and reasonably authentic, Mexican restaurant. In the event I eat in and have a good experience, Ill probably change my evaluation to 5 stars.Slight side-note regarding their adjacent store, they carry Mexican Coca-Cola, which my aunt needed due to an allergy to corn syrup (present in the America version, but not the Mexican version), which was something we werent able to find in other grocery stores in the area.

Theyre really nice people. And to the people that say you have to wait, its REAL food. They have real fish and real beef. Its amazing that they can cook all their food that quickly and still have it taste that good

Love, love, LOVE the steak quesadillas! So delicious! I also love the al pastor tacos, and its usually a struggle to decide which one I want more! The green salsa is the right blend of spice and flavor as well, and tastes great on anything. The rice and beans are extremely flavorful as well.

We stopped here during a road trip and were surprised to find that this little hole in the wall is FANTASTIC! Fresh tortillas and great flavor made our meal super delicious. I had the chicken enchiladas with green sauce (it was enough to share with my preschooler) and my husband had chorizo tacos. Both were great!

Nice place but I yes walk in and pay for 6 lil limes 3 dollers pay $ 17 dollers last might for 3 avocados .. 2 tomatoes and 2 onions I think the guy in cashier stole costumers money never back again

When seated was asked what we would like to drink was told out of diet coke and iced tea. It was 6pm on a tuesday. Service was extremely slow. Didnt get chips until food arrived, silver ware as well. Had to ask for something else to drink due server found a can of diet coke. Food fair, could have been very good with some spice. Very bland. My son enjoyed the steak burrito bowl. Child appeared store bought and stale. Salsa looked like taco sauce. The red hot sauce brought with the meal was pretty good. Doubt I will return.

Was in town for a softball tournament and afterwards we stopped here to eat before heading home. While we were eating there were cockroaches crawling out of the walls! I asked them if they were aware of the problem and they said yes they think it is from the construction going on outside! We got up and left! Also terrible service!

I was skeptical of finding a truly authentic Mexican place in West Lafayette.. but when you drive up, and the place is a grocery store, a gas station, and a restaurant? Ding ding ding. The food and prices were great. They also have Mexican candy in the grocery.

I was warned ahead of time to avoid eating in the restaurant because the service is so awful. Made an online order that took well over an hour and a half to arrive, called to complain and the manager was extremely rude and ended up hanging up on me. Why eat at a mediocre Mexican restaurant when the staff is so disrespectful? Will never return and would recommend others don’t waste their time.

They are always messing up my order when I call in such a shame love thier tacos. Wont be returning screwed my lunch up too many times.

Ordered for delivery, the food was hot but lacked flavor. I had gotten the Texas Faijitas thinking it would taste good but there was no flavor at all. We also ordered a quesadilla which was okay. Ordered a site of chips with salsa and the salsa was bland and watery as well. Order was $40 and I was disappointed in what I received. The horchata was pretty good.

Id been craving Mexican food for about a week now so this may have thrown off my rankings here. I ordered a torta and it was possibly the best Ive ever had. Im quite the torta aficionado so 60% of the time, Im right every time.The people were friendly, the place was clean, and it didnt take very long to get my food. Ill be back soon.

I was so excited about trying LaAldea because I had heard so many great things bout the place. I was disappointed though. I ordered tacos and a quesadilla. Both were cold/warm when they came out from the kitchen. The tacos were drowning in cilantro and the quesadilla had very little cheese in it. My husband got a burrito which he liked but he thought his food could have been warmer too. Our waitress was very pleasant and she kept on top or keeping our drinks filled. I HIGHLY recommend the chips and salsa. I have never had better in any restaurant in the past. Nice thick chips that can hold on to salsa without breaking. Salsa wasnt watery like other places and had really good flavor. House made for sure
