If youre looking for authentic middle eastern groceries, I think this is your place. Full disclosure: Im not middle eastern, and not knowledgeable on their groceries. But I lacked variety for my Easter dinner, and Cedars was open on Easter Sunday. Very friendly proprietor answered all of my questions. Bottom line, I got to sample new foods Ive never had before, including a potato filled bread which was very good (though quite spicy) and chick peas in a hard candied nougat that were really tasty. Another sweet dish was similar to baklava except made with crushed coconut. Honestly I like it better than baklava. The proprietor thanked me graciously and wished me a Happy Easter, and I thanked him for being open on what looked like a slow Sunday. Melbourne needs to support small indie businesses like this.

If you need anything to cook Turkish or Middle Eastern food, they have it. Sometimes its in the back, so be sure to ask. The owner is so nice, very helpful, and will answer any questions you may have. I love shopping at this market!

I went in the other night just to look around, see what this store offered.I was pleasantly surprised at how much of a selection he had. I picked up an assortment box of Baklava and some chips both were so good. The owner is so amazing! Really nice guy, so helpful and even gave me two nougat treats for free to try.I will be back.

Never imagined a gem like this would exist so close to home! The owner (wish I remembered his name) is super-friendly and is happy to give recommendations. He has a complete and, most strikingly, FRESH selection of genuine items - the best fresh pitas and meat pies, and the whole range of olives, grape leaves, dates, even turkish delights and organic cheese spread. Anyone would benefit from making a visit.

But my favorite thing about the store is the owner...hes so nice, helpful and always gives me an honest opinion. He even told me a couple of times not to buy something bc it doesnt taste good! Delicious fresh HEALTHY food and to our delight fabulous Lebanese flavors were everywhere. The help we asked for came with a smile each and every time. A wonderful green Apple drink called Miranda was such a nice healthy surprise as we devoured the Spinach pies before driving away lol Mmmm
