We were completely lost! We took an Uber from our hotel to get on our dinghy and go back to our catamaran, only to find our dinghy stabbed to death 6 times and the motor stolen. We had no way back to our boat. Well, we have an account at West Marine so off we went. I dont know how we got so lucky to be greeted by Shane Allen but he literally changed our day from hopeless to ok, we can handle this. We came in with a list of dinghy, locks, harness, etc. You know what we needed. Well, he went to work and even delivered the dinghy himself to where we were stranded! He was an angel in disguise and I am so happy that he came into our lives. Completely and utterly grateful, Jacqui and Mike!

I purchased a Simrad unit through West Marine online. The website advertised a $300 mail in rebate through Navico. I received the unit and had it installed. Everything was great until I tried to send in for the rebate. It turns out that the rebate was posted accidentally and they could not honor it. I asked West Marine if they would honor it and they too denied to take any responsibility for their accident. I was able to return the item, but I had already paid to have it installed. I thought about it and decided to have the item removed from the boat so I could return it. Not only did I pay for installation and removal, but it also required a custom plexiglass dash panel to cover the holes in the fiberglass from the previous 2 units. Neither company offered to help until I left them bad reviews. They wanted to fix the issues with a $300 store credit. Not sure what made them think that I would ever spend another penny with them even if they gave me the money. Simrad offered to replace the unit for free, but I already sold my second Simrad and purchased Garmin electronics.I feel insulted that they try to get me to remove a bad review by simply giving me something for free. I do not want anything for free and I definitely do not want their products. The fact that they did not even attempt to rectify the problem until the bad reviews were posted says a lot about them as a company.

West Marine, what can I say. They are expensive, everyone knows it, dont complain about it. They have quality products that you need in stock for immediate purchase. Thats what you are paying for and they are good at it.

Cannot believe that I just paid $180 for three 6.5x22 boat fenders and whip ropes at west marine and then just found four of the same at Bass Pro for $50 with whip ropes. That is an absolute insane price difference!! Guess where I’m going from now on for all boating equipment.....that would be Bass Pro!!

Shane was fantastic! He assisted me when I purchased a tandem kayak over the phone. When we went to pick it up, it was on the display with a sold sign. Shane had already left for the day but his co worker (sorry I didnt get your name but you were amazing!) assisted with loading the kayak. He also counseled us on its, gave us advice, and let us know about great places to go with our new kayak. Thank you for the wonderful experience! We will be back soon.

Purchased canvas snaps. which were the worst quality that I have ever seen. Had to resort to purchase from a canvas boat shop for 20% the cost and 100% improvement in quality. Cant believe a marine store would even stock this poor quality of snap.

Found the stainless fasteners I needed.

Shane the manager had the honor of dealing with my inflatable boat repair. It was not repairable and had to be replaced. Shane worked with the repair and warranty companies to get my refund in order. Even though we purchased the replacement from another store and weeks passed, he was able to apply the amount of the prorated refund back to my card.Do be aware when purchasing the extended warranty on boats and motors. If they ever have to be replaced, you only get a prorated portion of your money back.

They have a clean store and a wide variety of products when you are trying to find that elusive item... though they are pricey.

Open 7 days a week. May not always have in stock what I need but with their extensive relationship with hundreds of suppliers can usually get what I need in a few days. A little pricey but but no one else in town can match their service. If I order from West Marine on line and there is an issue I can get a refund or exchange at the nearest store. Been doing business with them for almost 20 years. The biggest issue I see with WM is people wait to the last minute to obtain product for a project and get angry because the product is not in stock. They are not miracle workers, but by golly they try. Thats why I always shop there first.

4 stars only because standard items cost more here than at other local stores, but they say they will price match for exact matching item at a lower cost.

Dont ever order any parts for your boat there my god I ordered a propeller for my 25hp Mercury outboard the guy had to look it up on the computer nnhe ordered the wrong prop .gave me the wrong spline hub waited 6 days for the wrong prop reordered the right prop I hope have to wait about her 8 days they are the worst when it comes to getting any thing for your boat and the ladies who work the register act like they content to help you that Im bothering them in some way because Im returning a part that they got wrong if you can help it avoid west mariners all cost the have no knowledge of boats or parts you will be taking it back so Id go to boaters world west Marine never again

I walked around for 25 minutes trying to find an ignition switch. Nobody in the store knew where they were let alone help me match up the one I had.
