Meh. Had this a while ago it was way better. This time they didnt deliver my shake I paid for, their secret sauce is terrible by itself its really salty not like in n out spread at all. Not worth paying extra for. U asked for well done meat was pink inside, I asked for pickles I received one tiny round pickle 😂 onions we three very very thin strings almost nothing. They use fake American cheese which is cheap but not worse than the fact my bun was stale. My boyfriend liked his okay I guess

I got the mushroom cheese burger, and it was delicious. The meat was juicy and perfectly cooked, and it came with all of the extras that make a good burger great. We also had some shakes, which were delicious. The total was almost the same price I paid at a certain fast food place, with arches, I went to a few days ago. WAY higher quality, and no more expensive. I literally felt sorry for the people I saw in the drive through at the other place as I ate my delicious meal. I only wish I lived closer (or they had another location closer to home).

Slow drive thru. Burger well dressed but meat overcooked and bun bottom was hard. Onion rings a bit greasy and could have been fried a tad longer.

Hefty West Sac is a good place to go! Whether you want a burger, chicken sandwich, their great fries or milk shake, everything is made to order and tastes fabulous. Remember made to order takes time, so be ready to wait a few minutes to get your goods. Definitely worth it.

I am giving this place five stars only so it appears at the top.I actually would rate this place (0 stars) if I could. The employees never wear gloves. Before and after the food is cooked… not only is it gross but it’s also a health code violation because of COVID 19. Even if they wash their hands, hands still sweat.. (gross). And also, it’s just dangerous because of the COVID pandemic and all.

You cant hear very when ordering and theyre kind of expensive as well. But the food is Great!

I’ve picked up a few delivery orders here… I would never eat here after the experiences I’ve had. The main lady who cooks usually (bigger lady) always has attitude and so do the other girls that work in there. But the bigger lady is a lot ruder.I’ve also noticed that every timeI have gone in there, none of themWear gloves, and they would handle the food (after it was cooked) with their bare hands. One day when I was picking up an order from there, I got sick of their mopey rude attitude and toldThem they should be wearing gloves. And said, “1. It’s gross in general and 2. They should especially be wearing gloves because of Covid 19.”They replied with “we wash our hands”to which I replied, “your hands sweat”It’s a health violation and I feel like reporting them to the health department if they don’t start wearing gloves… (also, they need to hire some people in there with better attitudes)The food here smells really good and looks good, besides that lady’s bare dirty sausage fingers all over the burger. But I wouldn’t eat here until they started wearing gloves. Especially because of Covid 19 !!!Here is an Edit for the owner… you can go ahead, I’ve stopped accepting orders from here because you have employees with nasty attitudes. Definitely a hole in the wall. But great people inside working and the burger was solid. I’ve passed this place many of times. Glad I stopped and I’ll be back .

Love this place. My favorite is the #2. The drive through can be a little slow when compared to the other fast food joints. But they cook the burger patties fresh to order so its well worth the wait. Thanks Hefty!

Food was really good! I wished they had brewed iced tea as an option for those that dont drink soda. The bathroom was pretty dirty and the hand soap bottle had been filled with water so many times there was nothing to clean your hands with.

Its more of a drive-thru restaurant then a fast food place. Food is made fresh so it takes about 10min from order. Food is good and not soaked in grease. The seasoning on the fries is perfect.

Service takes awhile, but it’s because they serve your food HOT and FRESH. Their burgers are great and their chicken nuggets and onion rings are bomb

I ordered two burgers one was correct. The other I ordered the other one I ordered was just meat cheese and bun I asked them to add bacon only. I repeated two times when I ordered. Once when I got to the location and once when they handed me the food and they assured me that it was correct. When I got home the second Burger had mayonaise lettuce and tomato.. I walked back and although they were waiting on other customers once I complained they told me that they were closed now . I asked them to replace the burger and The Man behind the counter told me there was nothing they could do about and started waving the bag (with the burger that was made incorrectly) in my f ace and yelling at me to take it. Once he had hit me in the face with the bag I swatted it from his hands he threw me out with no food but kept my $20+ . Any other place would have fixed their mistake. I am retired but to try to support local businesses with my fixed income but this brush crown deserves to go out of business if they cannot provide customer service that is professional, courteous and above all correct. They took $20 that could have been spent elsewhere. I eat out 2-3 times a month and they are incompetent thieves.

While on a visit to Sacramento for a few days we came across this place after wanting to go to A&W. We made a U-turn as soon as I seen this spot. Always prefer authentic American burger restaurants over fast food chains. The drive thru wasn’t busy but your food is made fresh so it will be a several minute wait. Nice menu selection and they also offer milkshakes but not root beer floats. I went for the bacon cheeseburger combo and my friend chose the mushroom burger combo. Fries tasted great but recommend buying a few cups of ranch for them. They forgot to give us the ranch but also didn’t charge us so it wasn’t a loss. I will definitely come back here in the future when I’m in Sacramento visiting family.

OMG they have dropped the signature Pastrami Burger in the garbage chaining to Turkey Pastrami what a horrible thing to do.Try thr Gyros so delicious. I will reorder them all the time.

This is my Five Star review based on it being my favorite place to eat while I was going to school at UW in the mid 60’s. That’s right I still talk about this place, and especially The Hefty Cheese Burger, some 50+ years later. I’ve been in SoCal 43 years now and never dreamt you were still around. Always love getting burgers from here. The hefty sauce and fries bomb!!!I tell people all the time, their burgers are so good. That theyre across the street from McDonalds and have still been in business for 10+ years. They gotta be doing something right!

The look of the joint may put you off a bit, as its a little run down and small. But dont let it. The food is incredible and the service is too. Very kind employees took order, and made food promptly and fresh over a large flame. Western style burger was wonderful and the spicy gyro is highly recommendable. Will return next time Im in town.

We met with friends at this place for dinner. we heard about this place from a lot of people. Well, we were not disappointed. The crew welcomed us with a smile and we felt very good. The food was just great. We loved this spot very much and we shall absolutely come back again. Warmly recommended.

The Sac Kings burger was delicious and made-to-order fresh. Pastrami, swiss cheese, onion rings and a fried egg, all on a massive patty. I brought my appetite and could barely finish it, which does not happen very often. Very reasonably priced at $6.99

Burger was hefty onion rings where burnt season fries was so so stingy with the range. Employee was cool until I asked for another ranch for the onion rings. If you have a ranch in the bag already do not I repeat do not ask for extra to mask the burnt onion taste of the burnt onion rings that hefty burger makes that way at least half of the order anyway. All in all for the price I paid if the employee wasnt hot I would have given a 2 but beautiful women on the register is a star for aesthetics

Great food! I had the phily cheese steak with mushrooms. So Tasty!! The lamb and beef gyro was delicious. The onion rings were great. We called the order in and picked it up at the drive thru. The folks there were helpful, nice, and fun!

I bought 4 chicken kabob sandwiches. I asked for 4 spreads- so that I would have 1 per sandwich. I only got 2 and was asked to pay extra for what should come with an already over priced sandwich. I asked what if I had bought each sandwich separately would you not have given me a spread then? She rudely said no. I dont care about a 1 dollar spread but I dont like getting robbed of even 1 cent.

WE WERE THE ONLY ONES AT THE DRIVE THROUGH. They told us to wait, 15 minutes later, we asked hello? No reply. We eventually drove up to the drive through window and no one greeted us, the completely ignored us and never looked our way. From looking inside, there was maximum of 10 customers inside. It couldn’t have been that busy if there were close to that same number of employees working, yet we were ignored at the drive through.HORRIBLE SERVICE.

My family has been happily eating at Hefty Burgers for 30 years. We have always enjoyed our food! We usually order Bacon or Pastrami Burgers, Fries, and Real Ice Cream Milkshakes; but they also serve delicious Lamb, Chicken, or Beef Gyros and Philly Steak Sandwiches.

Littered my neighborhood with advertisements, despite clear signage against. Now theres trash flying around everywhere. Stay out.

I love their chicken kebab sandwich! I have been coming here for over 20 years and consider this the best sandwich in Sacrmento area, including West Sacto. Since I dont work in West Sac anymore I come here when I head home from the bay area and need an easy and delicious meal.

Traveling through and from out east saw this restaurant on Google and had to give it a try. Burgers are great! Huge, fresh, tasty, and a great value.

Looking forward to a return visit. The bill was reasonable I would say. Like a restaurant in Washington I loved.

The staff can be a bit rough around the edges and they are very focused on getting the order correctly. So they may sound rougher than they intend to convey. Its all in the sake of accuracy. Also this is the only place you can get beef tallow fries in west sac.

This is the best burger Ive had in a very long time. I had the Hefty Burger number 1 combo and it has pastrami on it. The burger is super delicious, the pastrami is totally lean delicious, the fries are good too and Im going back there really soon. Also the guys that work as the cook and the one that takes the orders were really really nice and respectable and I really like them too so I would highly recommend this burger place to everyone! 🍔🍟

I went to Hefty yesterday, I ordered the double cheese burger combo. That was the best burger I’ve had in a while, the charbroiled flavor is amazing.

Hefty Cheeseburger and Onion Rings were great.

Little pricey but had Hamburger and onion rings and was so full couldnt eat till next day. Highly recommend.

The 5 stars is for the food and price, not the location or atmosphere, those would be at like a 2 and 3. The chicken kabob sandwich is my favorite but the burgers are great. And they have the big steak fries with Henrys seasoning which is my favorite type of French fry.
