A few weeks ago, we had our 15 year old AC condenser unit replaced as well as our water heater. During these past few weeks of extremely warm weather, we have appreciated the efficiency of our new unit. The workmanship and service by the installers for both were outstanding! Before installing the inside components for the AC, Eric carefully covered over all of our hardwood flooring leading to the basement from the entryway. Eddie came to the job site and inspected everything thoroughly following completion of the install. On the outside of our condo, all debris was carefully removed when the old unit was taken out and disposed of. The installation of our Bradford water heater was much the same. The outstanding service we received will guarantee our continued loyalty as new customers as well as referral to neighbors who will be looking to do the same with aging units. Recently had an A/C unit installed in our home. Eddie and his team were very professional and worked in an efficient manner to get the job done. I highly recommend them and their work.

In the middle of the night we noticed our house got extremely cold and realized our furnace was not working. After diagnostic checks it was a blown intake motor. Called early morning on a Sunday (a Sunday!) around 0600 and they managed on such short notice came out mid morning Monday and resolved our issue in a timely manner. Eric who fixed our hvac went above and beyond by answer any questions I had or explaining how to better our heating system for the future. He also double checked his work and was very thorough and considerate. All round great service would call them with no hesitation if ever needed help again.

I have been using McNeill Heating and AC since the 1970’s. Jim McNeill has installed the heat and AC units initially in 1976 and replaced them after 30 years or so with high efficiency units. He has also installed a Fujitsu mini-split heat and AC for my sunroom. I have always found Jim to be responsive to my needs and his prices reasonable. His crew is professional, courteous, and knowledgeable.

We had McNeill install a new furnace and thermostat. They were extremely responsive to any questions we had and very professional in all communications. The work was completed very quickly and the technicians took the time to explain everything they were doing and how to operate our new thermostat. Our 17 year old HVAC system was working but not very efficiently. The original condenser outside was undersized for the house and struggled to cool the house when the AC came on. Same for the heating side, it would struggle to bring the house up to temperature. I believe our old unit was 93% efficient. We contacted several local HVAC companies and Eddie from McNeill was the most responsive and personally took the time to go room by room, measuring and taking detailed notes for our entire house. Replacing and entire HVAC system in mid-February is no small task. McNeill delivered the condenser, new furnace and all associated parts and installed it in just 2 days. We were never without heat for more a few hours and the install team was polite and courteous. Cleaning up after themselves and leaving our house the same way it was when they got there. Our new unit is 96% efficient so the cost savings should be pretty substantial. Not to mention we now have the proper size condenser for the house so the cooling should be much more efficient. I highly recommend McNeill for anything HVAC related, from new installs to general service calls.

I’m one happy person right now!!! After a month of our central air being broken and trying to work with a different company i gave up and called McNeill heating and air conditioning. Called them last Friday, July 31st, they came out for an estimate on Monday, Aug 3, and just installed the new unit today, Aug 5!!! The best part is they were $700 less than what the other place wanted to charge me!! Ok other best part the entire experience with their employees was fantastic!! The people that answer the phones, Eddie who did the estimate and remainder of the communication, and all the crew that showed up at my door! My only regret is not having called them sooner!! I was a real estate operations manager (for over 18 years) with two major international corporations. As such, I was required to oversee/manage the installation and repair activities of several HVAC technicians and multiple HVAC contractors for both small residential and large scale commercial chiller systems.I recently contracted McNeill Heating & AC to install a mini-split system in my home. From a professional stand point, I can say that I was extremely impressed with McNeill as a company. They responded to my request for quote promptly, performed a thorough review of my home and recommended the correct size multi-zone system at a reasonable price. Following the installation, they even worked with me to provide all the necessary system information that enabled me to apply for a Mass Save energy rebate.

McNeill was a godsend. I called when the company I previously used was a no show. They were prompt and polite. Eric was meticulous and I will be sure to use him for future furnace cleanings. He found a large crack in the furnace and immediately called his supervisor who rearranged his schedule to meet me after work. Eddie was so kind. He got all of the equipment within a day, came early in the morning to start since I had to go to work and even came back on Saturday morning to make sure everything was running correctly. They made sure we had heat as quickly as possible. If you are looking for an honest and reliable company that really cares then call them!

Im not sure why they have many good reviews for this company! So here is my review, I just purchased a home in July. The furnace was serviced by Mcneil, so I was like ok they must be reputable since the previous homeowners have used them! It started off with me testing my heat before winter and it was not working. I called McNeill, the first time the customer service was ok, the second time the man hung up without me getting a chance to even ask my question of when they would come out to check my heat. Well the technician shows up I tell him whats going on and he instantly tells me the problem is with my gas valve in the furnace, I was like are you positive it is the gas valve, he tells me yes! So after that he said he would call me either later that day or the next day to give me a quote of how much it will cost to fix and replace! Let me just say I never got a phone call from them! Well something told me to check out my gas valve and my furnace again, well there is an on and off switch on my gas valve! So the problem was simply turning on the gas valve! I called them to receive my money back, still no call back! How can your professional technician not find the on and off switch!!! So this is why I will never refer them to anyone!! I also gave them some time to call me back maybe to apologize for the mistake, well no call back!!In response to owner- Im not sure where you get numerous calls from! I have only received one, after I posted this review of course! I gave your business at least two weeks to call me!!! So its my job to keep calling you poeple, no I dont think so! You should of been professional enough to have done the job right the first time, and actually call your customers back so we dont have to apparently be diligent with calling you!

They repaired my furnace, arrived at stated time, explained what was needed and part had to be ordered. Returned with the part and repaired it as was stated. Not cheep but reliable and the job is done properly. Have used them for the A/C and the result was the same done right and on time.Review Two: Called for my yearly service on the A/C and was told I had a leak in the system and it appears to be in the coil. Was not overly pleased with the price tag of $3500 since the condenser was only seven years old, things break - they replaced the condenser and coil in the first floor furnace since they must match in term of coolant . Used the old duck work, and furnace, replaced the coil and condenser. They did a good job and were here at the scheduled time, completed the job on time, did not make a mess and were very, very, pleasant. I would use them again and have a ton of confidence in their skills and ability. Would diffidently recommend their services

We just had a new Heil furnace/AC unit installed by technician Vinny under the oversight of Eddie. The price was fair, the installation was very professional and the unit is operating smoothly. They left the area cleaner than when they started. We are very satisfied.

Lost heat on a January Wednesday night ; our plumber referred McNeill Heating as the local reliable service. A tech was repairing my 17 year old furnace by 10:30am Thursday morning... diagnosed an inducer motor to order... back Friday morning for install and heat running. Real happy with service response w/loss of heat, as had to travel for a weekend wedding!

Just had 4 minisplits installed, Eddie and his guys did a great job. We had one small issue (cosmetic) and they came right out and fixed it to our liking.Had a slightly better price from other installers (HD) but they dropped the ball twice (getting back to me with requested information, and again on getting me a written price), made me feel they didnt want my business. McNeill was timely and we are very happy with the job. Now, if only they could work on my gas boiler!

McNeill Heating performed unnecessary work! I heard whistling whenever my heat came on so I called McNeill heating because I have a 2 zone forced hot air furnace and I suspected that one of the zone dampers needed to be adjusted. They came over and installed a bypass duct which reduced the air flow by 50% and the whistling stopped. I asked them if they tried adjusting the damper first and they said no and charged me $800 for the job.Now I had a new problem because the house would take twice as long to heat up. Frustrated, I decided to remove the $800 bypass and plugged the holes they made in my ducts. Then I checked on-line for the manual and found the screw to adjust the damper. I turned it and voila, no more whistling and full air pressure! $800 wasted!😡In addition to the above, they also over tightened the screw on my April Air humidifier stripping it and left it in a non-working state until I discovered it. At least they came back and repaired this issue.

I just had service yesterday (May 13) and the technician was friendly and thorough.The technicians who come to my house are always knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. Ive used Mcneil for the past 15 years and Ive never had an issue. I recently built a house and they did all the systems on time. When I first started using them I overpaid the tech (not knowing ) and he came back 5 minutes later to give me the extra cash I gave him. Not sure what these other two idiots are talking about these guys are great.

I phoned this company at 4pm on a Sunday, because of no heat in my house. My call was answered by an overworked operator at a call center, who kept putting me on hold while she answered other calls. After finally giving her my info, she informed me that someone from McNeill would call me the next morning, when they open for business. So much for 24 hour emergency service! The company NEVER even called back, so I called a legitimate HVAC company, who sent out a technician the next day. Bottom line: DONT waste your time with McNeill and their so-called emergency service!!!

On 2/2/2019, I called McNeill due to our furnace not working. Of course, this happened during some of the most frigid temps of the winter, so not only was it freezing outside but the inside was also unbearably cold. I explained how our furnace was up in the attic and how we had just purchased the home in Sept 2018 so I couldnt explain details about the furnace. An appointment was set for 2/4, where Eric arrived and supposedly fixed the furnace in a 30 minutes service call. Within a week, the furnace started exhibiting the same problem & we were without heat again. I called McNeill and Eric came back on 2/11, and got the furnace running after repairing what was explained to be a drainage issue. Within a day, the furnace went out AGAIN and we were now about $400 into repairs with McNeill and still no working furnace in the middle of bitter cold temps. My husband finally called himself ... irate that we were dunking $$$ into repairs and wanted to know if were going to get a break on labor costs when they came again. On the 12th, Eric returned with his manager Eddie who was extremely rude to me. After going upstairs to look at furnace, he proceeded to lecture me about how he never would have accepted the job if he knew what it looked like in the attic, and how I needed to get someone sooner than later to address the amount of space there is up there to work, blah, blah, blah. He left, followed by Eric, with his last words being that since they started the job, they would not leave us in the cold (yeah, right!) And how he needed to do some research on the furnace to find out what part it may be before ordering cuz it would take 2 weeks for either to come in. Well, a day passed with us still freezing with no word from manager Eddie. My husband calls the next 2 days for status update, and leaves a message for him but no return callback. Finally, on 2/15, at 8am-ish, before heading out for an invasive surgery, my husband call and asks for Eddie explaining that he has been trying to reach him for two days. Last thing he needed was to come home from surgery to no heat in the house with no sign of resolution in sight. Anyway, guess what - Eddie was there, miraculously, and he told my husband that he had no update at all for him --- feeding him a line of BS!!! My husband says to him, It sounds like you dont want to do this job. Should I call someone else? And, immediately, Eddie replies, YES. So much for not leaving us out in the cold ... he had no intention of coming back to deal with the problem - we paid almost $400 to McNeill Heating and they did not fix our furnace. After that conversation with the untrustworthy manager, Eddie, my husband called Hurley & David who got someone out to our house that same day and fixed the problem in one trip. The part needed did not take two weeks; it was in stock in their supply house (and they didnt charge us labor costs to get it like McNeill did when they went out for 45mins to get a part on one visit). And, the best/worst part is that when we asked the Hurley rep whether he felt there were any issues with how the furnace was situated up in the attic, he said no, I have seen and done homes that are much, much worse than yours. Just goes to show you that Eddie the manager probably is in the wrong profession - he obviously cannot deal with working on units in smaller spaces and/or he does not know how talk to customers in a professional, polite and honest manner. DO NOT USE MCNEILL HEATING!!!

My parents air conditioner was worked on and right after the workmen left the air conditioner started getting very loud when it was operating. We called to have them come back and check the unit. They said a part needed to be replaced and would order the part, this was before July 4. My 91 year old father contacted McNeills and was told that the part has not even been ordered. My 90 year old bedridden mother is without air conditioning thanks to the unprofessional attitude of McNeills and their employees. They have been giving my poor father a run around. I have told him to file a report with the Better Business Bureau. I am thoroughly disgusted with the way this company is treating my parents.
