The store was nice and pricing was amazing. The bad part is this location is closing and I believe the owner was retiring. We picked up what we could. Seeing stock they had was on hand only. We did have to find another store to pick up a few items. Very friendly and personable as well as knowledgeable too bad this is the last of it.

Sad to say next Saturday 5/16 & 5/16 is their last day in business. The building was sold and Fireside Designs are closing for good.So...if you are looking for some great sales get yourself down there!

The folks at this location had my elderly parents running in circles for months. They are meticulous at cleaning it and general upkeep but something kept triggering the feeder to stop working.My 70+ year old parents were desperately trying to get it fixed and stuck in a cold house for most the winter while the people at this location insisted my father get on the roof to clean out the vents (which were completely clear). We had to call the other location just to receive reliable customer service but they charged us $150 to tighten a bolt on the tension wheel. This fixed the problem just long enough for the repairman to leave then promptly stopped working again.So here my parents are in mid January with no professional available to fix the problem. I’ve ordered a new tension wheel after I called the location to order one but they never returned my call. The wheel is locked in place so the old one was grounded down by the chain (friction in machinery is never a good thing). I’ve modified it so it can turn freely while applying tension but it shuts off again.Now I must rely on their help again and I’m dreading the phone call. They’re off putting and I assume, if I get any assistance at all, are going to try and get in and out as fast as possible.Buy a wood stove.

Initially, there was a scheduling error and my pellet stove cleaning appointment was not recorded. Fireside Designs took responsibility and sent someone out during peak season & right before the holidays. This was very much appreciated. David was very friendly, knowledgeable, and did a great job servicing the stove. Thank you Fireside Designs and thank you David! I look forward to working with you guys in the future.

Excellent service. Very happy with the service from Fireside Designs. I would highly recommend. From the first visit to the showroom to the end of the project Jean, his son Jay and all the service men were so helpful and concerned with fitting the right gas insert for this small prefab fireplace that I have. It wasnt easy and we had a few problems. All of which were handled with the utmost care and concern. The fireplace is now completed and Im very happy with it. I only wish I did this years ago. I love it. Theyve met my high expectations and beyond. I just want to say thank you to everyone at Fireside Designs who helped to make this happen. Thank You, Donna

This is a great place to research and plan your heating appliance purchase. I called first and a guy named Mark gave me good phone advice. He asked questions about all of the issues with desired heat, our house, our heating system and the like. We figured out how our houses heat worked and it helped. He pointed to a fireplace measurement sheet on their website. Filling it in made the first visit good because we knew what size the fireplace was. Easy, and made picking the right insert easier. Then there was the size BTUs we needed. Knowing my house size helped. Another guy (Kyle?) showed me different fuel units. After getting brochures we were able to go home and pick what we thought we wanted. Another visit to the store got us closer to what we wanted after talking with another sales person. (Gene?) In the end we did well and got just the right insert for our house, a gas unit. Had we impulsively bought we would have done it wrong and got a pellet one, which was more work then we wanted. Nice guys, good teamwork, great store. Id recommend it to anyone.

We purchased a Harman Accentra pellet stove insert for our fireplace this November and had it installed by the folks at Fireside Designs. The pellet stove has been wonderful, effectively cutting our heating oil costs by 75%. The people at Fireside Designs are incredibly helpful and patient, answering our questions whenever weve had a question about our insert. The only thing that could make it better is if they delivered pellets!

I recently had service performed on my gas insert fireplace. The technician who came to my house was very personable and professional. I believe his name was K.C. I was very please with how meticulous he was with making the repair and then cleaning and polishing the entire fireplace when finished. K.C.is truly an asset to your company.

Cannot say enough good things about my service visit today from Casey. Not only was he flexible with the timing due to a communication issue, but, the mannerism and professionalism of his service is top notch. My P68 Harmon is a Beast of a pellet stove and was so happy when the part was replaced and back-up in going. The stove is 11 years old - bought from Fireside Designs and has been awesome - 2 small issues over 11 years. I do keep it very clean always and you get what you give. Casey is a true professional, clean, kicks off his boots, cleans up, provides additional tips and fixes things the right way. Nothing but 5 stars for that Guy.....money.

I had my old fireplaces converted to gas . Had no idea how to go about it. These guys were with me from education thru installation. I couldnt have asked for a better experience. Now, two years later, it wont start. I called the store and someone took the time to walk me thru it. Voila! problem solved. Saved me a ton of research for something simple. Thanks !

Many years ago, when I was much younger and naive, I purchased a gas fireplace for my new home. When I was in Fireside Designs to pick out a fireplace (Heat & Glo), the owner convinced me to get a fireplace without the firebrick (refractory), saying it looks so much better to see the fire reflected in the black painted panels. Not knowing any better, I got a fireplace without the firebrick. Mind you, I was not given any kind of discount because my fireplace was missing the firebrick walls.Years later, while doing some research, I found out that fireplaces WITH firebrick are much more efficient than those without -- and radiate up to 66 percent more heat! Meanwhile, my painted fireplace interior started to show signs of rust. So I went to Fireside Designs, and spoke to the owner. He did everything he could to try to get me to leave the store, telling me I needed to have my fireplaces model number, exact dimensions, etc. He also suggested I contact the manufacturer. So I left the store without any help from him. I returned a week later with all the info I needed, and he told me my fireplace was discontinued and I was basically out of luck.Many times since that day, I have seen the stores owner or one of his employees at the various Western Mass. Home Shows. I go up to him and tell him I purchased a fireplace from him, and explain how he duped me into buying a fireplace without firebrick, and ask what can he do for me? He always hems and haws, and asks me for my phone number and tells me hell call me. But, of course, he never does. He may have gotten a sale from a gullible young man, but he will never get any business from me again -- or from everybody I can tell my story to. Its called karma.UPDATE:Recently, the owner responded to me, saying their mantra is to educate their customers so they can make an informed decision. But when the owner was persuading me to purchase a fireplace without firebrick, surely he must have known that it would throw off LESS heat than one with firebrick. I mean, look at how many years he has been in the business. Did he not think it would have affected my decision had I known? The only education I received from him is that the units without firebrick looked nicer.As far as your honesty, integrity and respect that myself and my team extend to every customer, the number of negative reviews that you have received should be a warning to everybody.Meanwhile, his response reminds me of some of todays politicians trying to make excuses for their past. Not once did he apologize for the dissatisfaction I had with his business (if he had, Id still be a customer). But, I must admit, your response was an education in dishonesty.If I could have given you ZERO stars, I would have.UPDATE 2:So let me see if I got this right. When you hear from a customer that he was unhappy with the way you treated him, your response is not to invite him back to the store so you can discuss things cordially, but instead you berate him and call him names? Very nice! I have given you many opportunities to extend your courtesy to me, and each time you blew me off. Let this be a lesson to your future customers -- AFTER the sale, you too can be treated with distain by a merchant you have given your hard-earned dollars to.

At first it was a good experience when I bought my stove here. Then when it came time to get it serviced they informed me they dont do that kind of stuff and good luck finding someone who does. I plan on buying a new stove in a few years to replace my current one with a larger one and wont be buying it here again

I bought a pellet stove from them in 2010 and it has never worked properly since the very beginning. They wouldnt listen to me or believe what I was saying when I told them the stove was getting way too hot it was going to start a fire. They told me that was impossible and pretty much said I was being a typical hysterical women. I called several times complaining about the same thing finally I told them I was going to contact the manufacturer and the BBB. Oh all of a sudden they got quiet and listened to me. They took the stove to their shop and found it had a faulty electrical panel they replaced it and it worked fine for a few months then started to do the same thing again. I would never do business with these people again I am contacting the manufacturer from now on and letting them know what they need to know about the issues with this stove. Its a greenfire GF-55 Dont buy it
