Not a complete dumpster fire of a store, but not too many steps above that either. Theres a distinct lack of professionalism at this location. Some employees are nice, but at least as many others have a too-cool-for-school vibe thats really off-putting. (And thats coming from some one who works retail, understands the difficulty of the job, and almost never judges staff.) Always seems to be in a partial state of disarray as well. Would highly recommend you make the 20 minute or so drive up to Northampton and visit one of its high-quality independent music shops instead.
Went with my son to pick up some bass strings. Pretty good selection. Decided to look around. Very clean and organized. Prices average. Some little high but still within looking at. I looked at drums. And the used section had some very nice pearl and others. Overall well kept place. Very clean. Offers mask and sanitizer at front door. Mask optional. But recommended if not vax.
Laziest staff on the planet. I had no idea there were so many different ways to express that you dont want to do any work. I asked them to get one single guitar off the wall so I could play it. Youd think I asked them to run a marathon. Sweatpants and Crocs? At least pretend to care about your job.
I bought an awesome Ibanez. Knowledgeable staff
Very knowledgeable good price but need to stock more dj gear and chords please
Great place professional staff good product knowledge. A little expensive
Good thing about GC- you can test drive lots of equipment. They also have good return policies.Bad- This particular location - lacks inventory. Also, most of the staff have no idea how to play a musical instrument nevermind sell one.
Staff was super helpful and knowledgeable. Jon was fantastic! Did a great job on my friends guitar and helped him find another one that he loves! Sometimes guitar center can be hit or miss but the staff makes this a great store.
Great selection, got my piano from here, great staff. Clean store. Knowledgeable staff
Worst place to go, you stand there for 10-15 minuets while nobody acknowledges your there or at the counter. Today I went and none of the employees had any uniform on to show they worked there, I seriously thought just random people where chillin behind the counter. Nobody helped me with sheet music after I requested assistance, the store wasnβt even busy. Itβs like I was in this weird paradox where everyone was just lost in the sauce. Never ever will I ever come back to any guitar center. Rather shop local from now on. These people got some big customer service issues to address.
Pretty much all things musical here and if they dont have it in stock, a quick order on the internet and they have it for you in a couple of days.
It is unfortunate that I have to write this review, I had a terrible experience as a customer that bought a replacement plan for one of the items I purchased. Not only did I learn that the manager lied to me about my consumer rights but to learn that I had to go through corporate, probably because they did not want their sales affected, whom asked me why the local store did not assist me was embarrassing. It is frustrating to learn that sites, same one I made the original purchase from by the way, did not take me serious. I will NEVER shop there again, I would rather purchase from mass distribution sites such as Amazon. Guitar Center will never see a dime of my money moving forwardAbsolutely terrible
Really good music store. Their next store is in Manchester CT.
The store employee tried to sell me a used guitar case in the midst of a pandemic. After selling me another case that was the wrong size. When I asked them to direct me to someone that knows guitars they directed me to someone that kinda knows something abt guitars. Wheres the customer service? Im not going to go to buy a car in a car dealership and ask, Hey I want to buy a car do you know abt cars Huh kind of.
Im able to buy everything I need as a musician, but... it can get expensive.
One time I tried to buy a Dean ML from here they said they didnt have it you clearly have to reserve it for the customer. Also I bought an Ibanez acoustic bass and you guys didnt charge it so I never got it. I rather buy from sweetwater because they have better selection like ESP fretless basses.
Very helpful sale associate got what I needed with his help as I didnt know what I needed :)
I have been to the West SPFD location several times to sell some used gear and each time with different employees it was an awful experience. Once they told me they would buy the gear then I had to wait for 45 mins for the person who had the key to arrive at the store LATE for his shift to open the cash drawer, another time I had to wait another 30 mins while they figured out how to operate the computer and look up a price and then it took him another 15 mins just to tell me they dont buy drum hardware. Dont think Ill be going back anytime soon. They gotta get some employees who know what theyre doing over there. Most of the employees looked like they were still in high school with very little knowledge of the products they sell.
Knowledgeable staff, lots of guitar choices, decent prices. Bought a bass guitar as a Xmas gift and a Motown guitar vocal piano book. It was a good night at Guitar Center. Thank you.
Guitar Center is that place to go for all ur musical equipment needs friendly staff and a great selection of merchandise
The staff were transparent, courteous, and knowledgeable. So far they have been very good to me. I highly recommend checking them out.
This store is awsome! The store clerksis very friendly. Knowledgeable. TheItems they have for sale excellentquality. Beautiful Keyboards, guitars,Professional quality for the moreadvanced/career person. Lots ofaccessories for equipment for all kindsof instruments. Also music books forGuitars and Keyboards. The atmosphereinside is Beautiful! Anyone who playsAn instrument or thinking of startingto play music. This store is your numberOne! Place to go. Ask about musiclessons too.
Havent been in a guitar center in over 10 years. Greeted me and helped me with everything I needed as if I was a regular! Thank you Springfield guitar center!
No one approached or spoke to us to offer any help. No eye contact, no just one moment. Felt purposesly ignored. Much better experience at Manchester,CT....ask for Ken, he is fantastic.
Excellent service by everyone, especially Chaq.Everyone was pleasant and knowledgeable.I was able to buy everything I needed and wanted.
Could have given me a deal on guitar I bought one day after sale ended spent a lot of money got a strap $10 strap
Good selection and staff.
Always a great experience when Im in the store.
They dont have EVERYTHING but they got most things and I guess thats pretty good
Always a good place! I just stopped in for a new set of strings! ill be back
Got what I was waiting for. Just took long.
Employers are not really too helpful they also lack a lot of information on their instruments and what theyre selling
Memorial day sale in stock until you get there... Hundred dollars more than what I planned on.
The store is well stocked. I was able to find what I needed at a reasonable price.
Awesome crew and really helpful!
Extremely nice guys. John was very helpful and informative about my repair.
No good customer service
Havent been in person, but huge shout-out to Alonzo, store manager, who helped me over the phone to handle and figure out a pretty complicated return & exchange issue. He was a total lifesaver and expended a lot of time to help my case even though I didnt end up being able to deal with it in person at his store location. Thank you so much Alonzo! Youre the best!
Stop in periodically and check out all the drums and percussion instruments! I like to sit down on a drum kit and just play for a little while! Lots of fun! Brings back memories!
Went there today looking for a speaker with stand and mic for an upcoming job. Had no idea what I was looking for. Alonzo I believe his name was helped me out. And the guy was fantastic. Friendly and very accommodating to my 100 questions.
Bit small but a great store nonetheless
Went in looking for a new amp, after being offered to plug it in and try it out I walked over to the guitars, took one down to get a feel for it, some young punk comes running over screaming sir! Sir!!! You canβt just take a guitar off the wall, grabbed it out of my hands and started to walk away with it. Iβm 56 years old, this punk screamed at me like I was his kid! I said, kind of hard to try out an amp without a guitar, and walked out! Second bad experience in a place that I do business with! First time was around Christmas, walked in, I was the only one in the store except for 2 employees, one playing a guitar, the other playing on the computer, totally ignored me, I asked a question, got a one word answer. I left. This guitar center will get no more business from me! Period!
Ive only been here once, but my coworker would live here if he could. They have excellent staff who are all easy to talk to, a great selection of instruments and the stuff you need to take care of said instruments. I cant play anything so I cant give a super detailed description but they can.
Seems like everyone working here is just a clerk or cashier, someone who knows nothing about guitars will walk in and not know what to buy cause the staff doesnt help
Great people.
Bought a guitar there. Acoustic Electric. Took it out of the box over a month later and the electic part didnt work. So I called them and they told me even though I had the receipt since it was over a month they couldnt cover it. Really? The guy who sold it to me I figured would of checked it before he sold it to me. The battery that was supposed to come with the guitar wasnt in the box either. When I bought the guitar on Memorial Day weekend they also forget to give me the sale discount that was advertised. So I had to go back in and after about 30 minutes of waiting for them to figure out how to give me the discount they finally were able to fix it. NO apologies for the waiting or nothing. They did fix my guitar for nothing cause it ended up being a loose battery compartment that they rigged with a piece of folded up paper. Dont know how long that fix will last. Wont go to this one again. I will make the two hour drive to the one in Nashua NH who know customer service.
I love Guitar Center. I would have to go to Boston or Connecticut to find a store in the past. I am grateful there is a store right here in West Springfield now.
I appreciate the extra effort the employees and management took to get my order out!! Great service!
Helped us pick the perfect guitar for our daughter. The staff took the time to listen to our needs. Quality instrument at reasonable price. I have only good things to say about the entire experience.
LOVE guitar center! Huge huge selection, great deals, they let you play what ever you wantπ guitars, bass, piano, drums etc They have it all.I bought a bunch of gear for my classroom & was treated great.
The staff here are nice and very patient I think. I was there and gee it seemed like just about every section of the store had people trying out equipment at a decent volume. I thought to myself, if I worked there that might get annoying but they seemed pretty chill
Great customer service, great price, very clean store
Went In today, the weekend before Christmas. Manager restrung my sons guitar right there and cleaned it ( I never asked for it) when I went to pay he said β Merry Christmas this ones on me.β To a mom of three trying to make ends meet! It meant the world to me! Thanks!
Very clean, nice setup. I purchased a launchpad over the phone which was great. I did wait a little bit longer than expected but that was ok. Wish I had more time to really look around.
This Guitar Center is simply great. They have an awesome selection of instruments and great staff and they offer lessons for the beginner.
Some staff more helpful than others. The poor service lead me to spend $5,000 online to Sweetwater. Bad attitudes makes for poor sales person.
Nice and calm and comfortable. Always a pleasure spending time and money here.
These guys dont even know theyre working....
Knowledgeable staff. I needed a wireless sound system on a budget, and they quickly set me up. It worked out perfectly in the space I described to them.
Shaq and the team took the time to answer my questions. Great team!Honestly, this was the last chance for Guitar center as I had stopped at several stores in the Northeast.
Very nice place for most of your musical needs and very friendly employees that are eager to help with whatever your issue is.
Had what I needed
Matt Warwick is extremely helpful. They let you try the instruments without being pushy or over your shoulder. Sincerely enjoyed playing the drums then piano then guitar with my girlfriend and her son.
Its a small store however selection in still relatively good. with that you are not going to find everything a big store has to offer. But for things like xrl cable and/ adapter they definitely hit their mark.
The store was nice looking, but has little things from the website. The clerk wasnt trained well. Mispelled my name and didnt tell me (who is new to this) that i would need an acoustic guitar strap. Going to have to return it sometime soon.
Great employees (Matt specifically)
Good store for musicians
Its a music store alright, but tbh Ive only encountered one employee who I actually liked
All the employees are amazing. Great product.
Great selection of guitars, drums and accessories, dj equipment and sheet music and even LPs. You get to try the instruments and there are scheduled times when you can jam in a back room (I believe its sound proof). Employees are very good. Fun to visit even if you arent a serious musician.
Today was the first time I had ever entered the store and it was like musical Heaven as soon as you walk in the staff there was extremely helpful and excellent and I would recommend this place to anyone into music and I will be returning thank you for the experience it was awesome!!!!
The pictures are VERY misleading in these photographs, this guitar center is the SMALLEST one Ive ever seen. Not only that, but the selection is terrible. The staff are super nice and knowledgeable, but that doesnt take away from the fact of this isnt THAT nice of a guitar center.
I like Guitar Center as a company (minus the scam that is their trash Williams digital piano line), just not this one, especially on customer service. I have *never* approached the register of this particular Guitar Center *without* being ignored, and I have *never* waited to check out a product here *without* waiting at least ten minutes and without one apology.I was pushed to write a review after an interaction on 12-19-18 with one staff member, named as Alexander J M, as indicated on my receipt. I brought in gear that I was offering to sell, and the whole unnecessary interaction that ensued reeked of bad-tempered cattiness (a more common and recognizable term would be more appropriate, but potentially against Google Reviews policy). While crass, I honestly cant think of a better word to describe this particular staff member besides the adjective form of the parenthetically suggested term, though.I was in the store a while as my products were tested, which was fine, but I increasingly noticed then that this staff member was particularly averse to smiling, friendliness, or anything beyond few-word, inflection-less explanations. Once I was rung up, though, the experience only went further downhill.I waited for about 25 minutes in one spot as the staff member typed and was on calls somehow regarding the amount I was owed. I was not offered one explanation or apology for my having to wait this long. In addition, the one question I asked during this time frame, which was if the amount I was owed could be applied to my Guitar Center card, was met with a one-word answer, flat-toned no. This word was offered without the staff member even turning in my direction, attempting to make eye contact, or pausing engagement with their computer.During my whole experience with the staff member on 12-19-18, I felt to be an annoying burden treated with disdain. I understand that in everyday life, we cant expect friendliness from everyone whose paths we cross, but customer service isnt everyday life. Friendlinessββor at least attempted friendlinessββshould be considered standard for a business that actually wants customers.I have generally avoided this particular Guitar Center up until now due to the overall sense of feeling unwelcome as a customer. However, as of now, I will certainly be avoiding this particular store in order to also avoid feeling the disdain of pointless bad-tempered cattiness.
Great selection of gear. Check prices online before buying. You may save yourself some cash !!
Awesome place to be. Good staff
I love that store
You can play with all the instruments, staff doesnt bother you too much and seem knowledgeable about instruments/music.
Huge place with lots of equipment but hardly any accessories. If their website says they have the item you are looking for in the store make sure to call ahead and see if its available. The item I was looking for was listed as in stock in the store on the website but when I got there they didnt even carry that product. Staff not too helpful. Guy behind what I am assuming is their front counter didnt say one word and looked down on us. Quite rude actually. Wont go in here again BUT will find a local family owned type music shop and get my stuff from there. Sometimes bigger stores arent always better. Like in this case.
Greatest
Good audio products.
No customer service to speak of, the staff seemed more interested in talking to each other than actually helping someone...When I managed to summon one of the experts they had no idea what I was looking for...a $500 Shure microphone...and recommend I look online or bought a sm-58 instead...Unless you need guitar strings or are in desperate need for a piece of gear for a gig, move on.
No one bothers until your ready with a question. Good place to shop.
Customer service is weak
Excellent they have just what Im looking for
Its a musicians playground..friendly atmosphere
Good location, great instrument bargains, excellent proffesional staff. Easy parking
Great shop alot of cool toys.
Super fun place to find what instrument you wanna try or master first!
Guitar Selection is Ehhh... Staff is extremely young and overly knowledgeable
They have great security, as we found out when our 13 year old accidentally put what he was carrying in his pocket while he was looking up something online π€£
It was a good experience. Employees were helpful but not that friendly
Super friendly and helpful staff! Helped me and my sister find a stick bag for our father when we had no idea what size/type he might need!
Great and polite costumer service . Kool
Store was clean, music was at a respectable level, and the assortment of guitars and amps was pretty good. There were 3 or 4 guitars at my price point that were interesting.
Weve been in need of a larger music shop ever since Daddys Junky Music closed down. Was elated when I heard a Guitar Center was coming. As always, the guitar selection is great and the staff was helpful to me. I would like to see a larger amp and pedal selection in the future, though. Its my go-to shop for all music gear.
