Great place to bring the kids. Great educational pieces about milk production. There is a petting zoo, playgrounds, you can see the barn and the babies. The food is cafe sandwiches that are so good. And an ice cream scoop counter. They also carry other Maine made products. Great place to also grab some Maine Made souvenirs

The cream, milk and cheese are all great... You can also buy meat.I stocked up on different flavors of ice cream to take with us!

Such great, peaceful place! Very picturesque and tranquil. Kids could spend a whole day here either with the animals, playground or running around. There is shade and sun, there is ice cream and somewhere to play as well as relax

We love this place. However, being a small bag or container to put the animal feed in to make it easier for little hands.

Pleasant place to see some farm animals, have an ice cream treat, use the playground. Optional pay extra for the petting zoo, hay rides. Grounds are beautifully kept. Good local fun.

We visited Smiling Hill Farm for an Easter Egg hunt and it was so much more than we expected. The staff is amazing! Everyone we met was smiling, helpful and kind. The animals were great and their setups and living spaces were so fun to look at. We love it here and will definitely be coming back! And what a surprise to walk through the little shop and see a cat sleeping on a shelf alongside some chinchillas and a bearded dragon. Thank you Smiling Hill for a great day! We will be back soon for another visit!

We love to visit Smiling Hill Farm! They have a huge assortment of ice cream flavors with something to please everyone. They also have delicious milk fresh from their cows and our family really likes the blueberry, coffee, and strawberry flavors. You can wander around and see their gardens and animals too, while you enjoy your ice cream.

Very fun Mom&Pop petting zoo, certainly worth the price.Also not entirely out of the realm of possibility that they have the best ice cream in New England. The Butter Pecan was delightful.

The land was beautiful. layout was well labeled. The cows were so so sweet in the petting area. Very generous hand kisses from the moos.There was a young cow in petting zoo in a tiny enclosure with attached igloo like enclosure and couldnt move around/didnt seem right.Worse, the baby cows in adjacent barn were also tied up on like 1.5 leads and were unable to move at an even lesser extent. It was pretty depressing.Meat for sale next to the ice cream was pretty disturbing.

We always have the best time! The flavored milks are a huge hit in this house. Its a great spot to spend an afternoon with your little ones.

This place is an absolute blast and the fresh milk and ice cream are unforgettable. We spent hours here on a recent trip and know that we could spend hours more. Our older daughter fell in love with Mittens the cat and still talks about her weeks later. Well definitely be back next time we visit Maine!

The animals here are kept in horrible, filthy conditions. Biting flies are all over the animals, and the calves are kept in tiny, dirty pens away from their mothers. It was one of the saddest things Id ever seen and I would never want to bring a child here. I always thought this was a respectable animal zoo, but I guess I was wrong.

Greatest chocolate milk ever! Very fun farm with a childrens play area, ice cream, and other dairy products. Their specialty milks are pretty good but the whole chocolate is the best and thickest milk around, essentially melted chocolate ice cream.

Although most Mainers likely know Smiling Hill for its glass-bottled milk, they also make their own cheese curds and delicious ice cream. You would never guess that this green oasis is situated just down the road from the Portland Jetport, but its nearby location makes for an easy afternoon getaway from the South Portland crowds. After you step inside the large, red barn to choose from 20 or more ice cream varieties, be sure to tote your cone out back to meet the animals.

It was a very hot day in early June, but there was plenty of shade and plenty of animals meet and feed! Its a great place for younger kids (and the adult kind, as well). I highly recommend finishing your SHF experience with a chocolate frappe made chocolate milk and ice cream!

A good friend bought this for me & droped it off, (hence we’re having a debate on if Oakhurst is better than this brand ) i was really hesitant at first because I am very loyal to Oakhurst… However Oakhurst is losing its game it is not tasting very good, so I decided to try this it is by far hands-down the best chocolate milk I think I’ve ever tasted it’s the thick it’s riches creamiest chocolate milk I’ve ever had that it made me go on the website just to see where it’s made

Wonderful place to visit. The kids had a blast seeing all the animals. I give it a 4 star because have a bathroom where the animals are would have been great. You have to go back out to the Ice cret shop to use the bathroom.

Other then being looked at strangely for buying $70 worth of milk products...THIS PLACE IS FANTASTIC! Everything is homemade with love. Cheeses to yogurt and ice cream. COFFEE MILK is to die for. Wish I could have them make monthly deliveries out of state. Must try if in Maine!!!

Best quality products, wonderful staff, lovely farm area to explore alone or with family. My puppy saw cows for the first time there yesterday! Many delicious ice cream flavors too! Highly recommend.

Lots to see and learn with young children, and many different animals to interact with! There is a petting area with goats and sheep, and many smaller animals to see close up. After you feed the ponies, pigs, or goats, complete your visit with a sandwich or a generous-sized ice cream with many flavors too choose from. We have been here several times with kids age 0-5 and it is always a pleasure. Stroller friendly in many areas, with signs to indicate where wheelchairs or strollers are not recommended, but know that you will largely be moving over grass or gravel once you get beyond the parking areas.

I mean... happy farm animals, really great ice cream and other dairy products, occasional goat yoga, areas for the kids to play, friendly barnyard cats wandering around. Whats not to love. This is quintessential wholesome Maine comfort. Go on a weekend for goat yoga (reserve a spot in advance). Then stay for the chocolate milk. Or the peanut butter ice cream, or blueberry, or mandarin chocolate, or raspberry truffle, or actually maybe just all of them.

Brought my nieces and enjoyed everything about this farm. Lunch was excellent, followed by some tasty ice cream. Feeding the baby goats was a treat and the variety of animals was fun for everyone. Wanted to take the wagon to the pumpkin patch but two tired toddlers nixed that. Will definitely be going back.

My husband and I took our two year old son today and we had an absolute blast! We did the barnyard exhibit and we had so much fun! We saw so many different types of animals and farm animals. We were able to interact with goats and sheep (which our son LOVED). After we had lunch and some ice cream (best ice cream ever.) Overall it was a perfect time!

Great place to bring your child of almost any age. We especially loved the baby goat petting area, the sheep petting area and the bunny barn. They also have excellent ice cream to cool you off on a hot Maine summer day.

Always a great time when visiting this farm! Lots of animals to look at and explore with in their barn. They usually have petting areas available for the goats and some sheep roaming around in their other gated areas. I like reading the names of all the animals and finding out when they were born.After exploring in the barnyard, you must stop inside the store and get some lunch and/or ice cream! Wonderful variety of things to choose from. Great experience. All the milk flavors are delicious!Highly recommend!

We took grandma out for some there home made ice cream and the staff was so nice! We then took a walk through the petting area but we didnt feed the animals do to the Covid 19 virus. We had a great time just the same! The smells of the fresh air, the blue skys, cows off in the pastures. Wow what a glorious sight to see and smell.

Worth the visit. Amazing working farm with rich history it is awesome to see a farm still thriving from the 1700s in spite of the city surrounding it.The farm. The animals. The ice cream. The milk! Try it all you will not be disapppinted!
