I went to Venere with my family for my Wifes birthday and was pleasantly surprised how phenomenal the food was along with top notch service. The quality of the food was superb and I cant say enough good things about this place! The pizza is also just as a phenomenal as their dishes. The waiter was very friendly and professional! I will absolutely be back along with my family!!
I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. I’ve never had a bad experience here, with the food or the staff. Even now, while every establishment in America is currently understaffed, they do their absolute best and are always so incredibly kind no matter how hectic and stressful it can be. As if that wasn’t enough to get me to keep coming back, let’s talk food. Oh my GOD their food is incredible. Everything from appetizers, to entrees, to desserts. Delicious.Thank you to the staff, for all of your hard work and for the heavenly food thats served.
I cant say enough good things about this place. As usual their meals were over the top. The shrimp and clam fra diavlo was outstanding. The wait staff is attentive and friendly. Ive been coming here for years and have always been very pleased. Its a must try in this area.

The food was superb. I had the veal francese- in an excellent wine sauce, veal was thin and tender. My wife had the eggplant parmigiana that was mad to perfection, she also had the house mojito. We dine outdoors, early (5pm) and all the staff use masks and were very attentive. Prices were average and reasonable. We will go back.

It has amazing service and the people are so nice. When I went to pick something up the other day and the person who gave the food to me was so sweet and very nice and wished that I was safe and healthy.
Terrible... dont waste your time, if an Italian restaurant cant make a basic chicken cutlet parmesan what more do you need to know... chicken was tough (over cooked in my opinion) sauce is just okay. Im Italian, I grew up eating nothing but the best! Sorry but there are better places.
Veneres is very good authentic Italian Food. I believe its family owned and the wait staff is great and the food is Excellent. Theyre sauce is so good. And the place is nice and clean. Well definitely be going back there. Luved it! Stop in and see for yourself! You wont be disappointed!

Had the Shrimp FraDiavolo, spaghetti and meatballs, Halibut with clam and mussels special. All the tomato based sauces tested the same and it was very SALTY.
Perhaps it is simply the NY way and I have not grown accustomed, but one would think that a neighbourhood Italian restaurant would have perfected their steps of service and standards.I arrived at approximately 4:30pm entered the restaurant and requested to be sat outside. The person at the host-stand with the face-shield said that it was full service only. Who said I was not willing to dine? I politely responded that I would order from the menu in accompany to drinks to assure her that I would meet the criteria (which being from Canada, how was I to know?).She followed me outside and I proceeded to walk to a table near an outlet as I had a zoom meeting and wanted to ensure that my Mac was charged. She stated that she couldnt seat me there because she might get a 4-top table (party of 4). Be mindful that I was by myself.1.) There is probably 20-30 tables outside and not a single person in sight. The place was empty.2.) The tables are modular, we could have simply moved one over. I would have been happy to help her with that. I let her know that I sit here whenever I visit and that it hasnt been an issue previously.3.) As a restaurant and nightclub owner, I of all people know that maximizing day-time revenue is so ever important. This was an opportunity to show hospitality, make some incremental revenue at a slow time and wow a guest. We are in the business of creating positive reactions otherwise why are we in business.So how did it turn out?I left and I walked across the street where people appreciated my business. It is what anyone sensible would do. The place is nice and the owner when we spoke at previous visits was a gentlemen, but the judgment passed on this occasion was enough for me not to return. I doubt my neighbours will either. Its a coin toss from my experience, perhaps yours will be better.Cheers, Jan

Very good food. At this point we only sit outside. There is a limited menu but we have ordered a few different items and everything was excellent. Staff is very nice and accommodating and we have met the owners. Very nice and we would definitely recommend this place.

First time here and first outdoor dining during COVID19. Outdoor seating was spaced well and the food was good. Only complaint is waiter was only wearing a face shield whichdid not cover his mouth and no face mask. Waiter was very friendly and joked and laughed at our table standing above us, so no mask is no protection for possible spread!!

I usually love this place but my last visit was just ok. Service was so so. Waited awhile for our waiter to take our order. The food was just ok. Usually much better. We received the wrong size carafe of wine. Two dinners side pasta were incorrect. We returned them. Turns out we were charged extra for the side pasta. (The wrong pasta they served us I guess was special pasta). We were also charged extra for having the same sauce on the pasta as the dinners. I was never charged extra in my many years of eating here and we were not told by the waiter of any of the upcharges. We did not notice all the extra charges until after we paid the bill. We left kind of annoyed.

Not the best customer service, the waitress that assisted me seemed very overwhelmed and it was noticeable. Understandable in this field of work but for the prices charged for Chicken Parm, you would expect more. Disappointment.
Angelos a master chef and brilliant restaurateur his son Frank is a chip off the old block. My family loves this place, everything about it, from soup to desert. (Angelo and Franks soups and their Italian cheese cake is the best anywhere, the service is also outstanding.

For years I heard great things about venere so I went and its no big deal in fact I was disappointed. Everything was terrific except the food which was ordinary and nothing special. Sometimes a reputation is all you need and in this case its true. I will pass
The head waiter seen me in my work clothes and sarcastically said “I thought you were here to deliver something”, I ignored the comment and went ahead to order, staff wasn’t helpful what so ever, maybe because I’m a person of color idk. Their Food is Nice but their double standards in dealing with customers is very unprofessional. Definitely won’t bring my family here.

The food was excellent, but the service was slow. The restaurant was busy when we were there so maybe that was part of the slow service. Drink Orders were not correct and our salads that were suppose to come with the meal did not come out until we asked for them after our meals were out. The waiters were not attentive and had to be flagged down if we needed anything.
It is really killing me to write this review. My husband and I have been going to Venere for many, many years; we have a favorite table when it’s just the two of us, we have a different favorite table when we’re in a group, we cater from them for parties and funerals, and we refer out-of-towners there, knowing they won’t be disappointed with the meal. Sometimes we just get take-out and enjoy it at home; it’s our “GO TO” place.On Wednesday, December 4, I was delighted to receive an e-mail that stated “Free Dinner Today” in the subject line. I called my husband to “check the menu, it’s a Venere night!” He looked at the e-mail and realized it said “Tuesday” even though the email was DELIVERED on WEDNESDAY. My husband called the restaurant to ask if the offer would be honored and was told: “No, that was a mistake, it was for Tuesday and only valid yesterday, but that’s the SECOND call I got today.”I decided to send a letter to the restaurant because the email was from a service and not their personal email. I explained the situation and wrote: “How very out of character for Venere! The point I want to make is that this was obviously a mistake sent out by your email company and should have been honored by your restaurant to anyone who called on this offer”.My husband and I were stunned to receive a return phone call from Frank, one of Angelo’s sons, on December 13. He was obviously annoyed as he referred to the letter and said, “This is out of my hands, I don’t know what you expect from me; I can’t control the internet!” I was shocked and said, “You mean you won’t honor the offer for a complimentary meal?” And he answered “Why would I? I sent out 5,000 emails and there were only 2 problems, I’m not responsible for that!” I said “You’re serious? After all my years as a loyal customer you won’t comp ONE MEAL?!?!” and he said, “No. There’s NOTHING I can do!” (He didn’t even apologize for the error!!!) As my husband said, he shouldn’t have called at all; he should have just ignored the letter instead of getting heated over the phone; that was adding insult to injury. The food is great, but after all these years they receive a failing grade for customer service and public relations. We will never return, nor will we ever refer anyone else there, again.
Food was very good at a reasonable price.
When I was a kid, all I ever bugged my parents for was to take us here and let me get meatballs at Venere. Quite a few times, they did it. Now that I am out of the house and a full on growed up, I love to treat my parents with dinner here. Yes, I still get the meatballs at every meal.
I visit this spot a lot since I work close by. I must say the service is always awesome and they keep the spot clean regularly. Rates are reasonable and they serve sizeable portions.

Nice ambiance, food was good, not great. service was good. but need to train waitstaff on proper placement of plates. Not bring and dish out diner style same for clearing. stacking and piling up. so rude and unprofessional. Young busboy but needs proper training.

We had a fantastic dinner with great service. There were six of us and we all had something different including chicken, veal and seafood. Everyone was very happy with their meal and the garlic knots we shared.
We were a party of 14 on Easter - The table they gave us was good -it would have been better if it were round so we could interact with everyone but we understood with such a large party. The food was outstanding and the service we received from Chris our waiter was amazing !!! He made the holiday a great one. When the bill arrived we were all pleasantly surprised of how affordable it was. We highly recommend the restaurant and asking for Chris.

Old style corner Italian Restaurant. Full menu has everything you would expect. Hot bread and garlic rolls for the table! The Veal & Chicken Parmesans were delicious, the pasta cooked to perfection.
The place is great and so the food and service. Unfortunately, we found a hair on the pasta we ordered as a take out.I got very disappointed and did not expect it from this place. It was a blonde/light hair of medium length.In the past, I worked for 12 years in restaurants and maybe they are letting the hostess close the take out containers, maybe the cooks are not wearing hats, but this is an issue that gets avoided when good hygienic practices are put into place.Now, being that I was for so long in this field, I know that once in a blue moon, it can happen. The scoop was that when we went to open the leftover from 2 nights before, we found a hair again!What a bummer. And to say I loved this place so much but finding a hair twice, not sure about them no more. Sad and quite disgusting.To the owner: we did not call to complain because we are not after a refund or exchange, but my sincere suggestion to you is: let anyone wear a hat if they are going to be near the food.I voted it 4 stars because in no way I wish to stain your reputation but change your rules because next time someone else wont be so forgiving when finding a hair into the food. Yak.

Great service! The food is good but not gourmet. Regular.menu hasnt changed in years. Same specials every week and too few. Will accommodate special requests with a smile. Decor could use a facelift. Overall I would recommend for a ordinary night out.
