I trusted Markusfeld Restoration with the restoration of a roll top desk that has been in my family since it was made in 1902 and I couldnt be more pleased. Guy Markusfeld was a pleasure to deal with when I needed to have some light sockets replaced on an older brass library floor lamp. Turn around time was within a week and the job was completed just as promised.I also invested in some lovely Haddonstone cement planters for my front porch. I had purchased a couple of planters from Guy about 15 years ago, and have enjoyed them so much, I wanted a couple more. He is very knowledgeable and shared great care and maintenance advice/instructions. They were cleaned and delivered (for a fee, of course), but they have a lovely and broad selection to choose from in their outdoor statuary display area. Markusfeld Restoration went above and beyond our expectations. Our bed was damaged during our move. We thought it was beyond repair. The bed was missing a large portion of the wood finial. Guy recreated the final to match the good one. It looks as good as it did when we bought the bed. Absolutely amazing!! This bed weighs several hundreds pounds and had to be fixed at his wood studio. Personable, knowledgeable and dependable. I contacted the owner about repairing and restoring an antique secretary that had been in my wifes family for generations. (Never mind I allowed it to get damaged when we were moving it from her mothers home to ours. :0 ) Upon contacting the owner and providing photos of the secretary, he was great about keeping in contact with me, explaining what he felt was some of the history of the piece, then did an excellent job of refinishing it, repairing years worth of damaged knobs and handles and got it looking stellar.I was a little apprehensive about having something like that repaired and was pretty nervous, but Markusfeld Restoration had really quick turnaround time and I couldnt be happier with the job he did. Although his shop is 15 miles from my home, well worth the drive. Excellent craftsman!

I had been hanging on to my grandmothers piano bench and rocker until it became apparent I either needed to get them repaired or get rid of them. Just couldnt bring myself to do the latter. So I did some research and found this place. The owner is very knowledgeable and the quality of his work is great! Very reasonable price, too!

We recently moved to Indiana from Michigan. Before moving, we divested ourselves of all our furniture except for 2 dressers and a headboard. These mahogany pieces were part of a bedroom set that my grandmother had bought for my dad when he was away in the army in WWII and represented the only furniture that held any special meaning for us. Due to everyday wear and tear, the pieces, which are 80+ years old, were in desperate need of repair and refinishing. Guy was able to restore the pieces to their original beauty without totally stripping and refinishing them. He told us exactly what needed to be done in more detail than we could actually process and followed through with that plan, within the quote he gave us. The pieces are beautiful, and our interactions with Guy (a nice guy!) were top notch. We will certainly trust all our furniture restoration needs to Markusfeld Restoration! I cannot speak more highly of Guy or the work he does. He approaches antique restoration with such deep care and compassion, and has such a vast and wonderful knowledge of antiques. Visiting his shop is truly a delight and I highly recommend it! Guy was able to restore significant damage to an antique end table my parents gave me when I moved away from home. It was a table I cherished and reminded me of my childhood home, it was carelessly damaged during a cross-town move. The moving company saw little responsibility in the damage done, but Guy was so, so empathetic and kind and worked with me to restore the table to its glory. I have a 100 year old bed that needed to be restored. Guy Markusfeld did a fabulous job in bring the bed back to life. He kept me posted on his progress and delivered on schedule. In addition to my bed he also restored a Victorian sofa, chair and cellarett. They are all beautiful and ready for another hundred years.

Guy and his team provided wonderful repairs to multiple pieces of furniture which were damaged during a recent move. We had pieces with different types of damage; from scratches and nicks to dented edges due to the straps used while moving our piano. Guys team was professional and careful.
