Ive shopped at Michaels for years. I recently moved to Lakewood Ohio. I found one not far from me. I was so disappointed in that store. Only part of it is being used. There is only a fraction of merchandise there compared to the Michaels I used to go to. Couldnt find anything I wanted. I honestly dont know how they stay in business. I buy most of my card making supplies online from various companies now. I prefer to go into a store so I can see what Im buying so I dont have to send it back if its not what I thought it was.
Got what I wanted and saved time. Its a great place.
Amazingggg store I have ventured to almost every michaels around me but this location always have what I need.. I know charms and tools to make bracelets do tend to go fast but it seems like you guys stick up on your things a little bit faster than most lol I love how I could sign up for a membership and I can tell my rewards actually works lol it’s plenty of stores where I be like whyyyy do I even have a membership I never see any discounts come off but michaels is excellent with that my points actually count and I actually see a difference.. I think the beads for the jewelry making that comes in a bulk can be a better selection but other than that great and great customer service
Terrible experience. To be honest, they had nothing I came in for. Very boring selection if you ask me. Like the bare minimum for an arts & crafts store.... 😒
Very friendly and helpful employees. Cleaned up.the store it looks great.
I had an excellent experience in the custom framing department from the personal service to the discount I received.
Have always loved craft stores. Michaels has almost all ur needs
Never has what Im looking for the floors look a mess and the prices are too high
Whats not to love .very nice workers and very helpful..
Always has what I need at a great price. Dont forget to use your 20% off with the online coupon.
Wow, unbelievable the difference between this store and the one at Ridge Park Square. At least twice the size, better selection and they werent out of stock on popular items. Ill definitely be shopping here more often.
Losing our local much beloved Pat Catans to this nationwide chain was hard. The inventory now is mostly sappy decor. If you want needles, thread, crescent board go somewhere else.
There were no sales associates working the floors. I needed help but ended up leaving and going to Joanns. I was in and out and help was readily available.
Happy except their selections vary so much that you cant buy the same thing sixmonths later.
I give this place a 5-star rating. Help to find what I needed & what I was looking for was immediately available in the way of one of the workers leading me to where I could find what I came to the store for.
They had a nice selection of valentines craft supplies. Also good selection of childrens books and craft kits. The line was divided and 6 feet apart, but, had to walk by those checking out at the end of the line. That was the only part where socially distancing was tough. Nicely organized store.
Very spacious and clean. However my girlfriend likes the products that were at Pat Catans better. Example no Van Gogh oil paint. Other than that nice shopping experience.
One of the best Michaels Ive been too. Very large selection. I will say I am a water color guy and they didnt have as many choices as I perhaps wanted. They did however have a great deal on canvas.
Prices were pretty good and store has mostly what I need and want. The set up of the store does need some work. The way its layed out is in a way that has no flow and people end up all clogged in certain areas. Other than that, the employees are very nice as well.
Like most Michaels stores, lots of great product, good customer service and good discounts in general. My only complaint is that this one was not laid out in a great way. I couldnt find anything I was looking for easily, the aisles were a little disjointed and difficult to navigate.
I was just there for one thing, the tea light candles. They have a pack of 100 for $6 bucks. Great deal since they last for hours. They have a ton of stuff in there. It really is a good craft store.
Michaels was great. Couldnt find a large crimp to cover knots in thicker twine, but otherwise very nice.
There was a very small amount of Easter decor. I was very disappointed. It looked like the store was going out of business.
The store is like 1/3 blocked off with shelves rather poorly stocked. This store looks like its going to close in the next few months. Its really sad looking it used to be a Pat Catans but Michaels bought them out and now it looks like they are going to close.
Customer service was good but the prices are off the charts.
Staff was friendly and very helpful.
Its ok. Not like pat catans.
I bought fire candles for only 1 dollar each and they were good ones.
Not impressed at all d th ore looks empty
Bought some paints to do some craft projects at home. store had lots of holiday items on discount.
Has almost all the craft supplies I need. Some of the items were out of stock. Will be going back in a couple days to see if items are in stock
Needed some craft items and found them to be a great choice.
The people there are so nice and helpful.
Good painting and drawing supplies for high school art class.
This Michaels has everything necessary to release the Michael Angelo in You.
Was very out if stock, but had some great deals running!
Love the curbside pickup. Customer service is always amazing.
Store looked like it was going out of business very sparse shelving not a lot of selection in certain areas for sure
I’ve revised my rating from four stars (July, 2020) to two stars (Dec, 2020) for a few reasons. This store in particular has certainly not impressed me from a customer service perspective. The guy working in framing spent a good two minutes ranting to us about how many hours he’s been working and how he needed to drive to Strongsville when he got done working. He then had a rather bizarre running conversation with himself under his breath for the duration of our time with him.Earlier in the year, upon asking for help, the person I asked seemed genuinely inconvenienced that I would ask for help. Then promptly gave me the wrong aisle number. As far as Michaels in general... the things they sell here are overpriced. Flat out. We looked at Christmas decorations, decorations for our wedding in July, frames (pre-made) and their framing services. Universally things are more expensive than what you’d find at Target or Walmart for things of the same quality. As far as framing services, we were quoted over $300 for a simple print framing - after the 70% discount. I asked a local framer on Madison Ave in Lakewood and they were at $175-$225.Furthermore the quality isn’t impressive. We didn’t buy any Christmas stuff because it was either tacky or obviously cheap. We picked up three frames and we didn’t notice that two were broken until getting home.I guess Michaels survives because they have such a variety of craft stuff in one place - and you can touch it - unlike Amazon. For me, I’d rather take a chance or deal with limited selection at Target.
Low selection of tie-dye supplies, but it is somewhat out of season. Great Halloween decor options and wonderful selection of many other supplies.
Friendly helpful staff. I only had a small issue with my coupons at checkout, that quickly corrected.
This store is huge. Aisles are spacious. The store is well lit. The items I was looking for were easy to locate. The one item I needed help with the young lady knew exactly where it was. They had plenty of registers open to check out. It kept things moving quickly. Very pleasant experience.
Understaffed, but the associates there were very friendly.
Great place for craft items, some items are pricey compared to many online stores..
Its just not as good as Part Catans. The store is nice enough and the employees are very friendly but the item selection is not as wide ranging as it would be at Pat Catans.
I REALLY miss Pat Catan’s/Catan’s!! Yesterday, I went in to find something prearranged. The girl who “helped” me had ABSOLUTELY no idea what I was describing as she showed me to the section to gather supplies to make my own. I explained that I was “last-minute” shopping on my way to a party and needed something already made. I caught arrangements out of the corner of my eye and before I knew it, she was gone. To her credit, she asked if there was anything else I needed and I said no. But I didn’t realize how high the arrangements were until I was closer. I walked to the registers, with customers wrapped up and down aisles — NOT social distanced and some not in masks. I asked the girl if she could call someone to help me get an arrangement down. She finished ringing a customer and went down to talk to a “manager.” She returned and said that she can get the arrangement down, but it’s going to be awhile, because as I can see, she’s really busy. It wasn’t really what she said, but how she said it. Why wasn’t there someone on the floor who could help? Where’d the girl who didn’t know what I was talking about go? I pined up and down the aisles looking for help. This was my first “inside” experience with Michael’s since COVID, and since they took over this location. With the lack of customer service, they won’t be in Westlake long. I’ll go to Jo-Ann’s and Hobby Lobby before I set foot in Michael’s again.
Employees were very hospitable & helpful! Michaels has a huge variety of inventory for all of your craft needs!#SatisfiedCustomer
Limited stock... expensive
I like what I can buy at Michaels, but I am not sure that I will ever go there again. Upon entering their was a large dog in front of me. I asked the owner if it was a service dog (because service dogs should be able to go anywhere-- I 100% support this). However, the owner replied its just a pet. I asked the employee who was petting the dog is this allowed? To which she replied, as long as the dog is friendly we allow them in. What???? How can you be certain? And if the dog is being friendly and knocks me over that is ok? I have MS and my balance is questionable. Im completely fine if a friendly dog doesnt ask me to pet it. What happens if I get knocked over and injured? It takes me about three times as long as a healthy person to heal. But I guess that is ok if it is a friendly dog 😡. What about people with allergies? Its alright for them to be miserable if the dog is friendly? Michaels I think you lost a customer.
The gal at custom framing was extremely helpful and had a lot of patience!
Ive never been in the store, but since the pandemic Ive been making masks and had to order curbside pickup, which I cant begin to say how happy I am that is an option.I have had no luck with the closer stores, Im in Cleveland. Joanns is just a joke to try to get an order with them picked up, but at this store I have had much success. The staff are courtesy even with all this going on, so accommodating and considerate. Your orders are usually ready that day for pick-up which is insane fast to me. I couldnt be doing all I am doing if it wasnt for this store.Thank you!!!
Great when they have the stuff you need. Moderately overpriced, and doesnt have the unique attributes of small art stores. A wood piece sat on the shelf so long the sticker left a light stain on it.
Not a huge selection of items. Shelves where sort on bare.
Found everything I was looking for and great prices too !
A little pricey. Pat Catans was better.
Great staff and great prices
I like Michaels stores and shop in them often. This one was ok, it seemed a little less organized and not the usual variety of products
Prices too high. Wouldnt take my coupon that was sent to my text messages. Didnt have what I needed. Cluttered and messy. I miss Pat Catans
It. Was. Good. To. Get. What. I. Needed
Had what I needed, but still miss Pat Catans.
Nice place...didnt find what I was looking for ...clean and nice people
Good store, decent prices. Use the coupons they post on-line!
I really dont care for the product assortment as Michaels has replaced Catans. Lots of space devoted to expensive vinyl cutting equipment and paper crafting, little to basic crafts and simple sewing supplies. Store is strangely laid out and things are hard to find.
Although there were lots of options and assortments to buy it took me a while to find someone to help me. Understaffed and they seemed drained as a result. Im fairly sure there were only 3 people in the store to include register( not considering the other section of the store with their own staff).
I have been searching for candle wicks to make my own candles. They have them!
Pat Catans is large arts and crafts store that also carries fabrics, wedding, party supplies and a large amount of seasonal/home decor items. I never fail to find what I need here. The floral design department will make arrangements, bows, etc for you. They have a wonderful variety of silk flowers that changes seasonally. They have a full framing department, as well. Custom matting and/or frames for just about anything you want. I have had superior experience with the service at this location.I also enjoy the selection of ready made jewelry, scarves, bags and other gift items. I can always find a gift here.
I miss Pat Catans but this is pretty ok
Exceptional helpful staff. Thank you!
It was empty shelves, seemed like it was closing.
This store is the best Pat Catans. They are so big they have everything. The workers are always nice and helpful. They have multiple check outs. I always find what I need and more. Im not a crafty person, but Im amazed at the diversity of items they have. Great store for gifts and kids toys. I always find something unique here.
Looks like going out of business. Shelves are half empty
Im going to get into crafts based on my experience with Michaels. Motivational!
Didnt have either thing zip wanted. Broken foot and they didnt have ahandicap cart to drive. Hobbled through the store to find 1 of 3 things I needed. Im giving them a 3 because the employees were great. They said a cart has been requested numerous times.
This was my first time shopping with the Westlake store. I didnt even know that it was there. Avon didnt have my supplies, so I opted for Westlake. (Previously Avon did a great job with curbside pickup!) So when I got to the Westlake store I was expecting the same. It was easy to see the two pickup spots and no one was in line! (This shouldve been a clue) I hit the I am here button on my phone and it said to call the store, so I did. After I got hung up on twice, my husband headed into the store. I continued to call and got hung up on 5 times before someone finally answered on the 6th call!!! There are reasons people use curbside pickup and this issue could be potentially dangerous to someones health. I will not be back.
Everyone is so nice there great deals suvh good stuff sometimes hard to find but still a great store
One of the cashiers was open we were waiting in line, (Didnt know that we where standing in the wrong place.) She told us we were in the wrong place so we went over there, keep in mind that my wife is handicap and really could not walk all that much. Just to get to the cashier that told us to move to be closed and had walked away. P.s they dont have properly marked handicap spots or electric carts.
Unless you get stuff on sale, they areexpensive. Would much rather have Catans back.
Inventory has shrunk and it feels like it is closing.
Was looking for diamond painting accessories and there wasnt anything there.
Found what I was looking for...1st try...
REST IN POWER PAT CATAN
Friendly staff!
Awesome crafting and art supplies, helpful employees, very clean store.
Unfortunately, ever since Pat Catans was sold and became Michaels, the quality and availablity of items I needed or could find at Pat Catans just isnt there at Michaels. The last time I went in and asked about matting for a picture the person in the frame department was extremely rude. Sad
Its nice inside as far as set up. I just think the section with the strung beads could be bigger. They only have one wall.I guess Im just used to the store in Ridge Park Square.
Friendly and extremely helpful
A lot of bare shelves, maybe cleaning to put new product in? Store looked kind of sparse. Very busy the day I went, the lines were very long.
One person on register with 15 people in line. I did not make a purchase.
A lot of empty shelves
Friendly And helpful staff. If you are in need of a craft store, this chain will do.
One of the most spacious Michaels
This place has a lot to offer, but surprisingly not the greatest selection of stationary or construction paper. They also have excellent craft events for kids, and for the busier and more popular ones, they open up multiple stations around the store. They offer an educator discount too. I also found a much better selection of modeling glue than Home Depot.
Poor...... looks like the store is closing!
Nice large place
