If I could give 0 stars I would! I have never been treated so rudely by people who’s business I was trying to support! My order was $50 and they forgot something … ok no big deal… but when I call and tried to give a heads up that they forgot something they put me on hold and never came back, I was on hold until I got back to the restaurant to find the “servers” on their own personal phones…. WHILE I WAS ON HOLD! So I proceed to tell them what I was there for and was treated as if I did something wrong … I understand that mistakes happen but Don’t treat me as if I am bothering you while I am trying to support your business! Don’t worry I will NEVER be back and will let everyone I know to do the same!
The food and service here used to be great!!! However, I guess the pandemic has taken its toll. I asked for clarification regarding the price of one of their items and was immediately met with an attitude by the server. When I asked was there a problem she said no but obviously there was when she later called me ridiculous. The other server (who took my order over the phone) came to the window and explained the cost. The cost I was told was also different from what they charged me, saying it was a service charge (of $1.01) for using my card. Never paid a service charge before but doesnt matter at this point. I wont be returning!
I used to enjoy this restaurant. I can not justify $25 for a hot dog and a salad. Large Chicken Greek salad only comes with 4 little cherry tomatoes, 3 slices of beets, about a table spoon of feta, 4 slices of onion, 3 little pieces of cucumber, only 2 olives, and a total of maybe 3/4 of a chicken breast. The Kansas city dog wasnt even warm enough to melt the cheese, it also came with very little dressing and kraut....Will not be returning. Avoid!
Michael Symon reviewed a biscuits and gravy dish at a restaurant I visited and called it The best thing he ever ate. I had that dish and thought he was right until I ate here at Village. The four eggs house omelet smothered in sausage gray is the dish that I know he hasnt tried!! This place is a hidden gem but dont take my word, go see for yourself.
Times Ive gone in the past the food and service were excellent. Yesterday mustve been an off day, the bacon was burnt and the chicken nuggets we ordered for my grandson were oddly too different colors, the waitress was decent. Also we ate outside and were attacked by small flying insects it would be nice if they get that area treated for insects so that customers could enjoy their meal uninterrupted.
Went with my mom. She ordered the pizza bites. We were brought a plate of (probably) microwaved pizza rolls. She also got the potato skins. She said they tasted like the stuff from the frozen food section. My chicken sub fell apart on me, so I couldnt eat much. Both of our stomachs were upset when we got home. Giving one extra star for the milkshake. It was good, at least. But the food wasnt.
They have really good food. They need to do better keeping the pretzel buns stocked for the sliders. Thats usually my reason for ordering them. They are a little on the expensive side to be a hog dog place but they are convenient. Get back to 24 hours!
Been looking for a place that sold top quality Chicago dogs and gyro sandwiches, and Village Gourmet does not disappoint! Top notch flavors and very courteous staff. Love their drive-thru. Their packagings makes it hard to keep food warm for a 15 minute trip (their fries and onion rings are especially vulnerable), and their food is much less good it you have to rewarm it, but these are minor inconveniences. A good meal. Cant wait to try the breakfast options!
Cheese fries . What a disappointed experience. Typically you order chilly cheese fries and it comes out with chilly and fresh cheese 🧀. Or cheese slices. A form of solid or hamburger cheese slices . Nope not at all not at the village . It comes out of a yellow squeeze dispenser. Liquid nasty cheese . Horrible horrible . Its like eating fake cheese. Now I should of paid with monopoly money . A lot of the other food people were eating looked good. Sorry to say this is not the place for chilly cheese fries. My opinion stated .
Food and service was great. They were on the pricier side but still worth a visit. Looked like when we got in they may have just gotten over a rush as tables looked to need attention and we did have to wait for a minute to get seated. But overall it was a positive experience.

Omg I love this place! Their hot dogs are fresh and delicious. They are quick and have never gotten an order wrong. Our favorite place to go on Fridays. Their pretzel dogs are my favorite

I got a two coney combo and a Westland dog I found the coneys to be average. The fries were good. Thumbs down on the Westland dog. Everything but the fries seemed barley warm like it was cooked an hour and a half ago. The chili and meat on the Westland dog was solid like it was put on with a spatula even though Im sure it wasnt. I ordered this to go but didnt leave, just ate on the patio so it wasnt like my food had drive time to get room temperature
Coney was ok. Fries were horrible. Server was fine but took 20 minutes to get food. Not even half full restaurant. Didnt have ice! Very expensive also. Added cheese to my coney. $1
Food is delicious. Servers are nice, the inside is nice calm. I went through the drive-thru the other day and there was one car ahead of us and we waited over 30 minutes just to get cold chili dogs. It was a little disappointing, but when you get it warm its good.
Love that this place has drive-thru and is still 24/7 - I believe.
My absolute favorite Coney in this area! Awesome wait staff very friendly young girls. With great food and even better prices you have got to try it.

HEALTH CODE VIOLATION!!! DISGUSTING!!! If I could give them 0 stars I would. I watched this cook take my sons grilled cheese sandwich, that was on their cutting board inside their kitchen window and toss it onto the cleaning rag at the other end of the board. The whole time my food with sitting on the counter getting cold and we waited and waited for this grilled cheese sandwich. When the waitress asked where my sandwich was the cook took the old grilled cheese off the cleaning rag and put it back on to the grill to heat it up to feed my son. I will be contacting the health department
Me and my sister went there yesterday...the food was so awesome!!! The waitresses are so friendly and the cooks makes the food so good!!! This my new favorite place to eat.

I’m from Flint originally and I am very particular about my diners. However this place really took the cake!! I came around 1:30pm and they had our food to us very quickly. I was hesitant to try the chili cheese fries and ordered something else, and the owner John must have heard me and gave me a small plate for free that he made himself! 10/10 for this delicious food, please do yourself a favor and give this diner a try before you go anywhere else. Huge selection, the Owner John even says he invests a little extra money for fresh food and quality ingredients because great customer service and great quality is important to him. Great place.

They charge 4 percent to use your debit card & dont disclose this until after your order is complete. Prices are very high for the type of food they serve. Very disappointed
Alot has changed in the past year here. The food isnt even mediocre. The cheeseburger, fries and corned beef and Swiss were all over cooked, buns hard, wrong cheese and quite frankly looked and tasted like it was old and had been sitting out. There was a hair in the burger,, as well. The service both over the phone and in person was rude and they acted as if we were an inconvenience. The prices should be much lower for sub quality food. Ill tell everyone of our experience.

The waitress was not very attentive. She was checking her phone and texting a lot. We were there an hour and she didnt come back for coffee until 45 mins in. Took forever to get the check... Food was really good just service sucked...

Usually I dont write reviews but in this case I have too. They have some of the rudest, most belligerent, unkind staff Ive ever seen answering the phone and in person. If I could give them 0 stars I would. They should really train their staff on at least what decent customer service is. I would advise that no one spend money with these people until they learn some human decency and respect for their customers.PS.. And no it was no reason for the lady who answered the phone to be rude, she honestly just wanted to.
Order the three bacon and cheddar burgers sliders and hardly any cheddar cheese and lots of bacon

Mediocre at best. The price is not worth what you get. The combo is 5$ add on and you get a child’s size drink full of ice and a small container of fries. They aren’t even big hotdogs.

Sat outside and waited almost 20 mins for a waitress to come out and give us our menus but instead everyone that came through the door were getting served. We left and went somewhere else, ended up calling them and explaining what happened. I told the waitress that they should pay attention and she hung up on me, very rude. I was respectful as can be. She also said that as a customer it is our responsibility to come inside and let them know we are dining outside. Ummm.. Noooo... Thats how you get tips and customers, that is their job cause as many times as my husband and i have been there, they always came outside to us. I feel the manager needs to grow up and straighten up her Attitude. I will not be coming BACK! Everyone has their many opinions and that is mine.
All of the staff is incredibly kind. Food is always excellent. Not giving it 5 stars because they got rid of the sprite and sometimes the omelettes aren’t the best. Really clean restaurant. Bathrooms are clean and nice. Open 24 hours which is nice. They also offer a drive through, and outdoor seating. Pretty cheap too. I would recommend this coney island style restaurant to anyone.

Honestly amazing food, if every time on every website wasnt different, if people learned how to answer a phone and speak kinder, if grubhub didnt double the price of evedy item, if they had another way to pay besides cash and credit card, if there was ONE THING still allowing me to get some of my favorite meals without it being a CONSTANT inconvenience since i lost my debit card, id probably rate it 5 stars and now theyre not even 24 hours PLUS grubhub starts at 8 and ends at 10pm.. all of it sucks and is dragging the resteraunt down, better off doing their own delivery for sure
Called in my order. The young lady was rude and hung up while I was asking a question during our first call. The second time she hung up because I told her she was rude. I received my order and the it was wrong. How do you mess up a salad?
I just went to Village Coney Island to order breakfast on 12/22/20.I called them to let them know that my toast was black and my eggs were not done over medium like I requested, I also let the server know that I did not receive any plasticware with my breakfast. She told me that was my faultI didn’t get any plasticware, so I guess it was my fault the toast was black and the eggs were not done over medium also. The server is dumber than a box of rocks, not only that she was very rude and very impolite. I was a loyal customer until today, I will not be going back to there,When I pay my money I expect Great Service .When it was the Blue Roof they had excellent service and excellent food, now they have different people working there, the place sucks, I wouldn’t recommend this Place to anybody.I wish I could give them no stars, they deserve it.

Expensive, ordered a chicken greek salad, chili cheese fries and chicken finger pita. $30 later and only 2 beet slices on the salad! The food was good but I could have ordered the same thing elsewhere for 1/2the price.

Before today I would of gave them a 5. This place is new to us weve already been back 4x. But didnt get everything ordered had to go back. Add a pickle with every order apparently which the menu clearly does not say with sliders (my daughter wont touch) I had to pay for new ones. They substituted different bun without asking. Had all kinds of excuses but never an apology. Great tasting food normally but they definitely ruined it for us.

Our first time here, sooo much to choose from! Kielbasa n sauerkraut dog was delicious and appetizers were good too. Will definitely be returning to try a when bunch of new items! Glad we found a spot with such a huge selection of foods because we never agree on places to go until today!
