I went to this store twice, I won’t go back again. The first time I went the employee took time to look up the cards I was selling and gave me a reasonable price. Then I came back to sell some more that were old because the guy that looks at older cards was not there at the time and when he looked at my cards it only took him 4 minutes and gave me a low ball offer. I don’t think the guy even looked up the current value of the cards I was trying to sell. They are also way over priced on new products. DO NOT GO HERE TO BUY OR SELL!!

I wish I could stop people from going here! The prices are insanely high and the staff is extremely annoying. When I was looking around there were some young kids excited to sell their cards and the staff member was being extremely rude I wanted to hop behind the counter and fix his attitude. Not only was he being rude but he was completely ripping off these poor kids. Do not go here for anything Pokémon!

This was my first time here, and I feel other peoples comments and experiences were a bit knee-jerk and a bit unfair with extenuating circumstances. They went over all of their buying and selling policies if I asked. Bulk prices on cards 3 or below, 50% on 20 and below, 60% on 20 and above. It was very clear cut. I never experienced anything higher than 10% above retail. My experience was more that I found cards that had their markets settle overall from newer sets, to be 2 and in some cases 6 dollars above retail. Its a bit annoying when im trying to build deck cores, and Im getting charged 9 dollars more for 3 copies of the same card, but I boiled it down to me paying for a convienence. However I would realistically only be charged about 3 dollars in taxes on tcglow. It was a bit troublesome, when I found out that their listed prices were firm, and were not really willing to negotiate even when buying multiple singles. I was testing a theory while I was in there, I looked for a mid end card both myself and the shop had listed higher higher tcglow, however when looking up my price, they went by tcglow instead of their listed price. That seems a little intellectually dishonest, especially when buying I have to go by THEIR price listing, while they can go by a less inflated tcg standard.I know of at least 2 other crystal commerce based shops that are willing to negotiate on prices that exceed 5 retail or more, like topcut. If they did this for some cards or people buying multiple cards, I think it would be a fair compromise, or at the very least split the difference, since it is still a convienence.Other than that, the enviroment was very contained, and professional, it wasnt off the walls like older locals that used to be around, and everyone was in there, doing specific tasks for their respective games and collectibles. The team here is obviously dedicated, knowledgeable and take their jobs seriously. I think Id be willing to come back, because Im interested to see how they operate local tournaments for Pokémon when restrictions are lifted.

This has to be by far one of the worst card shops out there! I walked in with just around 350-400 dollars in cards. I used the tcg player app to check prices. I placed all of my cards as lightly played just to see the lowest I could probably get. They offered me 170.00 store credit. That is just about 50%. They also use underhanded tactics to get customers to come in and then upcharge them. There prices are outrageous! If you want sealed product just leave. They charge more than most shops! Go to pastimes if you want to buy sealed product trust me! You would be better off going just about anywhere else honestly! I wouldnt be surprised if every 5 star review they had on here was paid for! Just let this store go out of business.

Terrible customer service, overpriced items, and will not pay you enough for anything you sell to them. This is my 1st review ever and I’m going to make it quick. Please do not shop here and do not bring your kids to shop here. The prices they’re asking for items can be found cheaper on eBay OR another local card store. The employees here are extremely rude and dull, but I cannot fault the store for that. There is no music playing or anything going on in the background except for somebody who is sitting in their back room who will grunt if you ask to see a card - which by the way - NO touching or LOOKING at because their computer system is “perfect.” They have some very cool cards, but again, extremely over priced to the point where you would think they are almost trying to have people NOT shop there. As a quick example if you see item X on the shelf for $100 and show them the same item on eBay / OfferUp / Amazon for $75 they will tel you they update prices weekly and instead now charge you $110. It just isn’t worth it. Again, do not shop here if you care about your wallet or trading cards.

I walked in asked a question about sports cards, they said they didn’t have any strictly magic, pokemon etc. I started to ask questions and the main owner/manager in the back started treating me like I was a no body. The worst customer service I have ever experienced at a card shop the guy ended up asking if I wanted to buy a $30,000 box for no reason I strictly wanted to spend a lot of money but I will never take my business there again and I will let everyone I know not to go there because they are disrespectful to their customers and are careless about customer satisfaction. If I could rate this a zero I would. AWFUL BUSINESS!

Wow, so unfriendly. My 10 year old son was interested in selling a few Pokemon cards and buying a few new packs but ended up just wanting to leave. The man sitting in back, who never even got up or even looked our direction, reluctantly told us how much they would pay for each card. I was hoping my son would learn a little about the process of buying and selling cards, however, this was clearly not the right place for that. Maybe theyre nicer if youre a regular or an experienced card trader/collector. We felt like we were bothering them.

I love coming to Hot Sauce. The owner is amazingly friendly and informative. He will go out of his way to help you. I live in Dallas, but work in Chicago and wouldn’t otherwise waste my time hauling MtG items in my luggage frequently if I didn’t think it was worth it. I have been to this place so many times. It was a great place when Eric was there. A few times when I walked in I wanted to get a few singles . I was laughed at by staff about the cards I wanted . After that the guy asked me if I ordered online and I said no sorry . He pointed to the keyoks and was saying I can place an order there. After doing so they went to grab my cards. And told me (after I paid for them ) we dont have these. After looking it up on my phone it showed 4 copies of the card. I showed the guy this he scoffed and walked away. After about 5 min he came back and said guess we do . Not only was the card damaged and dirty he was going to charge me mint price ... thats just one story .

Review №32

The card shop takes 52.8% of your cards value and give you $10 for 1000 Pokémon bulk. This is ludicrous considering Deriums.com will give you $90-100 for 3000 cards. They havent always taken 52.8% of your cards value, this used to be more around 40% if I had to take a guess. They let my hopes down when I came in with over $100 worth of cards and simply gave my $44. Keep in mind this was with bigger ticket items and not the bulk. So, I basically ended up getting $34 from cards that were worth near $100. Then I tried to sell my promo Pokémon cards from a couple years ago and I was told that I would have to wait for the “older cards guy” to come back in next week. The cards are 2-3 years old and that’s preventing your employees from looking up the prices? Makes no sense in my eyes. The cards are clearly NM-M condition and they tell me I have to wait for someone else to do it. This is just lazy in my eyes considering any person that has access to TCG Player or TrollandToad could have done it. I live 45 minutes to one hour away and I don’t see a point in coming back to a store that will most likely end up giving me $20 for my cards. It’s a shame considering I used to come here back in 2015-2017 and always had a great time. They gave a great deal, but it seems that it has gone downhill since. This is not meant to come off as a bad review, but more as a heads up to those that are looking to sell their cards here in the future. We need amazing employees again. For example, Eric was an employee that everyone loved... hope we can see an employee in the future that is as welcoming and nice as he was.

I can see from other reviews that Im not the only one who finds the fat bearded guy to be an entirely unpleasant human. Every time Ive gone in hes there, and makes the buying experience terrible. He quite clearly is upset when he has to stop what hes doing to help a customer. He has berated other staff members in front of me and other customers. No thanks, no offers of help, just an attitude of annoyance. I suspect hes also behind their high selling and low buying prices. You can see him flogging overpriced cards on marketplace as well, so its unsurprising. My advice to the guy is fix his attitude before he drives the store into the ground.

Came in looking for Pokémon singles. This store seems like it is going to have a large supply of cards available(sounded like it was just getting its foot in the door for “older” cards), however it doesn’t yet. When I asked more questions on the matter I was given a very accusatory and slightly hostile response and then guided to using their computer for my questions and to look things up.Personally, I don’t go into a store to use a computer. I go in person to hunt through cards to find the ones I want. Otherwise I would just go online from my home and find specific cards there.I give it 3 stars mostly on the stores selection and potential for the cards, but I highly doubt I will be going back.

Correction... it USED TO BE the best place ever. Since they moved ALL THEIR PRODUCT off site they have become worthless. You have to wait between 3 hours and several days to be able to obtain your product from this store. If they just moved their product to another store that you could walk in and buy what you want, that would be one thing but now the only thing they are good for is ordering online. If you think you want to buy from this store, go on TCG, use their optimizer tool and some of your cards MIGHT come from this store.
