Hammer Down Firearms was amazing and I had an exceptional experience. I used to be pretty experienced with firearms and in my knowledge of them, but its been 3+ years since Ive taken one of mine out of its case and 10+ years since Ive purchased a new one. I don’t remember the guys name but he was very friendly, very knowledgeable and I thank him for not rushing me through my purchase. He took time to show me different options so I could find the right fit. The other man took time to show me how to take my firearm apart and put it back together.I purchased a firearm from 5280 Armory a year ago and was rushed into my purchase. The guy literally told me “you can’t stand around looking all day. We have other customers to get to”.I will definitely go back to Hammer Down for anymore firearm purchases!

5 stars because of professionalism and attention. I arrived a bit before closing and the man at the counter helped me way past closing. I mentioned It was my first gun and the process felt easy and comftrable. Will go back when its time for an upgrade.

The friendly gentleman was knowledgeable quick to answer all my question and processed everything within a timely manner. Plus if they dont have what youre looking for instore, they can acquire it pretty quickly.

Im not personally that interested in guns but from a historic perspective my son is so I had to look for a ”Mosin Nagan”. Discovered this firearms and gunsmith shop shortly after the New Year, 2020. Made an initial small purchase which required ordering in the product, a holster rig, to get a feel for their customer service. Was pleased with the process including their call to inform me of the arrival of the product. Purchased some bulk ammunition for the range a month later. A pleasant shop, polite staff. Later in the year, shortly after the initial nationwide unrest quieted down a bit, I came in to check their inventory of tactical carbines. Selected a rifle from consignment and took delivery after a couple days for the background check. My experience with the shop and staff has been satisfactory all the way through. They have been polite and fair in their dealings with me during these uncertain times. Very pleased to find this shop much closer to home than the one I had been patronizing for many years prior to discovering Hammerdown Firearms.

I cant say enough good things about this establishment, starting with Mike R. being attentive to my conceal carry needs, walking me through different sidearms (myself already knowing of stock shortages, he didnt just sell me into the first one on the counter), he made my choice easy, and was attentive.he explained the background check process to me and what steps were next (kinda knew some steps but still asked questions), after initially being denied by the check, Mike walked me thru the next step, he said to be patient, (he was right lol) under 30 days later (at no fault of my own). I was approved and picked up my new purchase.at this time, I met Chris J. at hammerdown, whom was as equally helpful, finished the paperwork then bought some ammo for training and home defense plus a carry case from him (I need more ammo guys lol), Chris was great as well (as he was getting busy) both are very personable, and make you feel confident with a purchase.Next, I will be looking into conceal carry classes with them them. Small shop with very personable proprietors. They have a broad selection, and great prices, especially on ammunition. If you dont see what youre looking for, just ask. Theyre glad to order it in or point you in the right direction.They also handle personal transfers (between people or online orders) at a much better price than most places. $40 covers the background check and up to 4 guns.Great place, you should definitely come by and check it out!

Unfortunately they did not, but that didnt stop Greg from providing top notch customer service and not only answering my questions, but also referring me to another unaffiliated gun store who happens to have the inventory Im looking for. Im not upset about the mask policy, but its a deal-breaker for me and seems irresponsible right now during a pandemic. No masks are allowed. I called and asked if masks can be taken off only when needed for identification purposes but was told they cant pick and choose so standardized on no masks. I feel that the risk of death / severe illness being spread in the store is worse. If someone were to do something malicious in a store then I believe they would wear a mask anyway, and probably not the same kind - so no threat to anyone beyond something reasonable/practical here.Sounds like a great shop otherwise and I am in the market for a pistol but I wont risk it and think the policy is backwards and detrimental to all patrons.

I had a great experience shopping at Hammer Down Firearms. The customer service was over the top. Me and my buddy had been looking at guns all day doing price comparisons. We walked into this store and were immediately greeted even though they were helping other customers. I have to admit I walked in with high expectations after seeing some of the reviews and was not disappointed. Walked out that day having purchased an awesome AT bulldog 12 gauge and a great deal on some ammo and extra mags. Definately will be back for more guns and great conversations.

Demanding that customers not wear masks in the middle of a pandemic is wildly inappropriate.Whatever the motivation, there’s a better way.We bought a weapon somewhere else.
