I am never without my favorite chef equipment. And I get most of them from this awesome shop in the White Plains, NY area. The employees are extremely knowledgeable of their stock and if they dont have what you need theyll make sure to let you know when they do.Great location just be careful entering and especially exiting the parking area as some people drive crazy on the road there.Love this place! You should visit their shop sometime! 😁

Excellent and Professional service. I travelled to Chef City to pick up a few items for my new business and Theresa (hopeful I spelt It correctly) was so professional and patience with me. I am a new bar owner and I was not sure what I wanted to purchase but she took her time and answered all my questions. Thank you Theresa for making this process easy because starting a new business is stressful. She is my new friend in my head. Jay

The employee who helped us was very knowledgeable and spent more time than he should have for what we were buying. I know nothing about kitchen supplies, but I know customer service, and this place has that.

I am taking the time to write this review, it is a first for me, but the circumstances were so extreme that I felt it important that any small businesses starting up know how I was treated as a small business owner. I am in the process of starting up a retail store that includes a drink bar, requiring a need for kitchen equipment. I found this company based on their positive reviews and reached out. Initially I had a great conversation with the person in charge of commercial orders, but the process took roughly a month to get my original quote from them, given a good deal of phone and email tag.I was patient as I knew they were also a small business with limited resources (according to them). I did have to physically go into the store and wait an hour to speak to someone, as email and phone tag did not work, and their usual staff cannot take commercial orders, in order to get their attention around the quote I needed. After receiving the quote, there were some delays on my end, as to be expected, with my opening, but when I was ready to place an order, I contacted them immediately, only to find they were unavailable. After leaving a message that I needed a quote revision and that I was ready to place my order once this was set, I called back 24 hours later, to experience an incredibly rude response, wherein the owner acted as if I was inconveniencing her because I needed this revised quote, in order to get final specs to my architect ASAP, and also to confirm the equipment I needed could be delivered in advance of my expected opening date. A very important step in opening a business, and a very straightforward and common one that a business who sells kitchen equipment should be able to handle.Instead, their response to this simple request was that they were tied up for the next two weeks and they were unable to provide any straightforward or solid answers on what day they could even look at my email, let alone address my needs to get to an order completion. When I pressed about concerns around this, I was essentially treated as if they didnt want my business, which lead to being hung up on.It is concerning that a business could treat a customer this way, and react this way. Perhaps a 5 figure order is too small for them to be concerned, but a professional company, no matter how small an order, does not leave customers hanging, and if catastrophic or personal events occur for the business, which unfortunately it seems it did for this business, there are contingency plans in place, as life does unfortunately happen, and answers at the very least should be provided that do not leave customers in the dark at a critical point in their own process, where they have engaged and were depending on an execution.I also want to note that before I was able to finalize this order, this company called me to say how important it was to get the order in ASAP. I was only trying to follow what they recommended and get them the final information as soon as possible, so that the order could be finalized and placed, given the sense of urgency around timing they created. Its a shame, as I wanted to support this local business, I hung in with them even through they were slow with responses initially, and now am left having to start over with someone else, after being abandoned at the final step, in the last minute.

Friendly staff, thorough selection with a competitive price. A true hidden gem for amateur and professional chefs in White Plains. Basically THE place you want to go, when a cookbook or cooking show mentions getting something at a restaurant supply store instead of a Target.

I started a small business 5 years ago and that is when I met Teresa and Kevin. They could not have been more helpful in assisting me in the set up of my commercial kitchen. They were knowledgable about the products they sold and made suggestions to help keep costs in line while still having the quality I was looking for. Now 5 years later I am moving to a larger space and Chef City was the first place I called for assistance. Once again they were happy to help. They are always responsive in answering questions, providing advice, and getting me the products I need. I look forward to continuing to work with Chef City!

I found everything I was looking for. The store is clean, well-laid out and the staff was very knowledgeable, courteous and helpful. I thought pricing was very reasonable for professional-quality equipment. I purchased knives, sizzle platters, pizza paddles and some other utensils. I will definitely return and highly recommend this outlet for restauranteurs, professional chef or for the discerning cook at home.

Saw from the road and stopped in early on a Saturday afternoon. Was impressed with the amount of items and selection. Was NOT impressed with the fact that theres one cashier, and she was REALLY slow, using hunt and peck method on the checkout keyboard. It was actually painful to watch. She was totally oblivious to the fact there was a person waiting. She was checking out a customer with two items, whose husband was scouring the store bringing back one item at a time to buy! I was buying a salt shaker...one small salt shaker!!Should have one more available register and someone who can jump in to help, especially on a Saturday!

Easily accessible for me in Westchester County, located in the middle of White Plains. Theres a wide range of products for an amateur chef and BBQer like myself, without being overwhelmed by the professional restaurant supplies available. The staff in the store are always patient and helpful with my questions, and point me to the right products for the cooking experience I am looking for.
