Great place to have a beer! It is summer and they are not doing the grill, but the pork tacos were amazing! Salsa verde is the bomb!

A really great brewery a really nice inside flowing business style line and proceeding checkout system, awesome and well thought out! The out doors is swanky garden gnome good chit, with room for everyone inside a f definitely out! Very comfy place I wish the 3 IPAs would bring us back, yet sadly I report NOT.

This place was worthy enough of a review. I typically only write reviews if a place is really good, or really bad. This place is amazing, worth a visit. Very relaxed, beer garden vibe. Enough space to set up a yard game. Staff inside to order a beer were having fun together, singing with the music playing, while still being efficient getting your beer quickly. Beer was delicious! Tomorrows forecast and the huckleberry wheat my favorites. Fruity wheats can be a little too sweet if done poorly, this one is done perfectly. Food truck/stand outside served the best food Ive had at a brewery ever. They have fancied up hot dogs to poke bowls. Delicious. Out of the three craft breweries we visited in the area, this was the best.

This place is a serious slice of heaven. The beer is unique and well done. Loved everything we tried. Then add to it a skilled grill chef cranking out food that would make any restaurant proud. All in the beautiful setting of Whitefish, MT with a huge outdoor backyard. The combination of homey neighbor vibes were off the chart. One of my favorite breweries in the country!

Great outdoor dining area with lots of shady spots to enjoy a pint and grab a bite. Beers are available in tasting flights of four, or by the pint or half pint glass, they also fill growlers. The beers on offer have something for everyone, including: blond, IPA, wheat, shandy, and more (we particularly liked the huckleberry wheat). Menu includes options from the grill including burgers, hot dogs, and chicken as well as some tasty salads and bowls. Dog friendly outdoors. Space indoors is available as well for colder months, but while the weather holds outside is the place to be.

Visiting from Colorado, and this place was great...music, atmosphere, and BEER! All good!

Do you like beer? Do you sometimes enjoy beer but only if its good beer? If so, go here. Everything we tried was great! We ended up leaving with 2 growlers. If youre nearby, this is an absolute must visit brewery. The food at the grill was also excellent. Even better, the beer garden is dog friendly!

Best burger! I had the burger with beets, rocket, and goat cheese! One helluva burger! Beets on burger? Oh my! A great outdoor area for kids and four paws. Job well done!

Im so glad we came across this place. Their food is fantastic and theyve got a good selection of vegetarian items. Every beer we tried (which was almost all of them) was great! All the tables are outside on the lawn so the vibe is very relaxed and there were plenty of people with dogs.

Bonsai Brewing is probably my favorite place in Whitefish to grab a drink when visiting my local parents. Ive had wonderful drinks, food, and service from the incredible staff. The outdoor area is beautiful and nice to enjoy on any day. This is a popular spot for good reason. If you are visiting, remember to treat the staff with kindness and respect and leave a good tip for these awesome people who cater to locals and tourists alike during incredibly busy times of the year. Bonsai deserves ten stars if I could give it!

The blueberry beer and the expensive sour beer were both exquisite! The burger and salad were also wonderful! The best part was the outdoor seating spread out over a large shaded lawn area where we could eat with our dogs. Highly recommended for people like us who didnt want to leave their puppies in a car while we ate.

Beer and food was excellent, staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Would definitely stop in again on our next visit to Montana! If you are ever in the area check them out. You wont be disappointed.

This was our first stop in town and we are so glad we came here first. The beer was amazing and the food was delicious. I especially loved the pasta salad. My mom has a gluten intolerance and was bummed when she found out there wasn’t a seltzer or cider option. HOWEVER, the honey blonde has less gluten content so my mom tried it. She had no tummy issues hours after or the next day, which was awesome. I’m pretty sure my family and I tried everything on the menu and even came back the next day for a “drink break”. Definitely recommend.

Such a fun place. The beers were good and food was OK. We got the Bonsai burger. Dogs are allowed on leash. The DJ on Thu was the best part.

Best place I’ve found in Montana yet! So thankful they were dog friendly in their yard. The beer was excellent and the bowls we got were perfect! Absolutely will be back here again.

This is such a cool place. Homey feeling with delicious beers and food.The Spicy Biddie is an awesome sandwich and the habanero ginger sauce is fantastic.All the staff members we have encountered are friendly and helpful.Would definitely go back!

Unfortunately the whole group we visited with will not be returning. We were catching up with some long lost friends and the 2 families both have young kids that were enjoying the playing in the courtyard. When one of the kids made a small mess of some condiment packets that had been left on an empty table I felt it was reasonable of the employee to ask the parents to clean it up. However, it was completely unnecessary for her to throw in the line, Lets remember this is still a restaurant. We know where we were and didnt need the reminder. Shall I remind you that you are an outside seating only restaurant with a courtyard that welcomes dogs, kids and families. Messes may happen, but a rude attitude is not necessary at all. This was only after I saw a different employee as a group who had moved their table into the shade to move it back to where it was. I thought it was odd and unnecessary until I realized it was apparently the attitude of the full staff that things being easy and convenient for them is more important than the customer experience. The food was decent, but very slow. A bit pricy for food you have to order at a counter and walk back up to pick up yourself.

We had a nice time. The beer was very good, especially the Lets Go IPA and the Riverside pilsner. Food was very good also and they have vegan options. Nice, big outdoor space with plenty of tables.

Great fresh food. Ahi out of the we world. Vegetarian bowls were fresh and spot on. Great selection of beer. Huxploitation and Comfy Hoody were our favorite.

What a great place! We walked over across the bridge from downtown (?) Whitefish and I wondered where the heck we were going. Then I saw the big lawn and the cozy building. The staff was very friendly, there were great beer and non-beer options. It was easy to social distance and there was a Korean food truck out back. I loved this place!

This place is cute cozy! The staff is very nice and welcoming! We went during COVID and we wish there was more seating outside (there is definitely room) and inside there was no one but on a beaut summer day who wants to sit inside. Gardens we amazing lots of shade! Had a porter potty outside which was convenient. Beer is good and they had a food truck which was great! They have food but not serving it because of COVID. Steadily busy for a Tuesday night, but that’s great! Parking was pretty good, but good luck on a Friday or Saturday night/evening. Cute place! Kid and dog friendly.

We needed a food and drink recharge before the Rodeo. Bonsai was a home run at the first pitch with a good section of home brew beers and healthy food that could become habit forming.

Amazing spot to spend some time outside with great people enjoying good food and local beer on a MT summer afternoon. Really enjoyed the Hazy IPA and Honey Blonde while playing some Cornhole.

Super fun place to hang out, but a lot of the beers are over-hopped for the style and the hops themselves taste old or musty. Lots of selection though, so you’re bound to find something you’ll like.

Great beer. Slash - mosaic hopped American pale ale best one I have ever had. To: Keel apricot sour excellent! Arugula beet goat cheese salad with ahi time paired with/Slash was phenomenal. We loved this place! The one man band on Saturday was amazing and our favorite part of our visit. Although I have to also say the beer was great, and food was even better. We loved the Ahi Tuna bowl, the combination of the dressings and ingredients was great. We also had the Bonsai Burger, the bun was fabulous, and the burger was so good. Also the patio was very nice and spread out made the evening relaxing. Recommend this place for sure!

Unfortunately we just received extremely negative energy here by the female manager. In the middle of our meal (literally fork in mouth), she told us to get up and go sit outside in the rain/snow — after we had already been sitting down at our table for an hour. Why? She said because our registered service dog — who we called about before arriving and was greeted by all the employees— is actually “not allowed because they serve food”. News flash ... ***Service dogs are legally allowed in ALL restaurants in Montana***. When we called ahead of time to give a heads up about our service dog & practice etiquette, the guy we spoke to said “of course your service animal is welcome, legally they can be anywhere inside, come on in”. When I asked her when she interrupted us mid-meal if she knew what a service animal is she said “yes, but unfortunately they are not welcome here because we serve food”. So she actually has no idea that what she just did is illegal. She made a scene, while ruining our meal, & had absolutely zero empathy or compassion. Nor knowledge of the law. In hospitality, the energy of the staff makes or breaks it, and this one broke it. We will never be back. We went to a restaurant down the street who greeted us and our service animal with open arms.

One of my favourite places to visit when I get to Whitefish. They are experimenting with tons of local beers and its worth stopping in often to whats new. Music is always good, staff are always friendly. In the summer this place is a blast with a party outside seemingly going on every day.

Cannot recommend this spot enough! Saw it driving by and saw the great outdoor space with tables spaced far apart and was drawn in. Beer and burgers were spot on and so delicious after our adventure in the hot sun! Will be back for sure. They follow fantastic Covid safety protocols!

I can see the appeal of this place as a cosy hangout for summer or after skiing. But as a non-beer drinker and someone who was wanting something with meat and fries, there wasnt many options for me. No cider or fries? We went somewhere else.

Service is great. Food is tasty but pricey for what it is. Beer is hit or miss. I love half of their beers and the other half make me wonder if something went wrong during the brewing process. Pleasant atmosphere with awesome outdoor seating and plenty of parking. Pretty close to everything but just out of the way enough. Overall, pretty good 👍

Great Food and Great Beer

I love these bold experimental brews. The Black Dynamine was hot and spicy and dark. The Soul Food was smooth, creamy, and with a strong flavor of cor n, loved it. I love how adventerous and fun these are!

Such a fun place and a great environment. The staff is awesome and the beer is top notch. I have only been in the winter but the outside area looks to be a great time in the warmer weather.

Mehhhhhh..... Good brew.... kitchen was closed.... Staff was nice but its definitely a little cliquish amongst patrons. Loved the ambiance; you feel like you are hanging out in someones front yard.

If you like really good beer, come here. This place has pretty good food and amazing beer. Im a pretty intense beer conisour, and this was the best beer I tried while in Montana. The beer here could stand up well to some of the best Chicago or California breweries. 5/5

The beer was phenomenal! The only problem was choosing which one to drink. The service was friendly. The location is really cool with a big, shady outdoor area. If you like small breweries, this is one not to miss.
