First time coming here n it was really great!! We was at a great table n the cook had us laughing the whole time.Had video but cant add it up here

We drove 30 miles to eat here. Very disappointed. Scallops looked as though they had been sliced in half, not good at all, left over half of them, rice was under seasoned, very bland, steak was tough, best thing was the vegetables, very disappointed. First time there and last time for sure. Pricey!

We go here every year in August as a tradition. This year was really disappointing. The chef who has been there a really long time pretty much just cooked the food and left. Hardly no interaction and no show. We watched all the other tables get shows and full on interaction. Thats the very reason people come here. The rest of the staff were friendly, and treated our table better than the chef. Thats the only reason for the 2 stars and not 1. Next year we plan on going somewhere else.

The service was good, we had about a 30 minute wait before we were seated but that was cool because we wanted our whole family seated together. The chef that cooked for us was so funny, we laughed through out the whole meal. It was a great family night for everyone.

Watching the chef cook infront of you; was the real cost. The food was good. But the company was great.

The portion size of the hibachi dinners is well worth the price and it taste delicious. I also ordered some sushi and it was larger than what I normally receive at other places. Service is great too.

First visit, we were told was it would be an hour wait. They were supposed to call us 15 min before our table was ready and never did. So we ended up going to another restaurant for dinner.

Had dinner there last night and what an experience to never forget. The cook...Ronnie...was not connected with being at work. He was rude and disrespectful to me and my wife. It was so bad that the manager gave us a full refund. The manager gave the impression that she couldnt control what Ronnie did. Time to change your career Ronnie. You caused Sappari to lose a regular customer. Jerk!!

I loved the food and my chef was super funny.

Used to be one of my favorites places to eat. Portions have changed, yesterday fried rice didnt have egg .. idk why, cause Last time came with it. 🥺

First time back here since covid.The waitress was great .The cook was really good as well as the food.We really enjoyed it.

Can not believe this establishment could discriminate against people with food allergies. I went to celebrate with my husband and they had a sign on the door stating they could not accommodate people with seafood allergies. Disgusting!!! You have lost my business.

Love this place. The cook was great and he had a good sense of humor. My son loved it! You pay for the experience and it is totally worth it.

I have never been here and had a bad or average experience. This place always has fantastic food and service and the chefs are hilarious. Everything on their menu is excellent and the staff has previously gone way above and beyond for me when I needed it. I will be a customer for life!

My cousins & I enjoyed our dinner @ Sappari. The wait staff & table chefs have the prep steps down to a science. You are seated in a square with half of the guests seated around a grill flat top for each side with a chef for each flat top. I have to eat gluten free so, for an additional charge of $5.00, my food was actually prepared in the kitchen and brought to me. I also ordered my son a to go order which was prepared at the table. The chefs are personable and have a good sense of humor. The food is served in a course/layered approach. A bowl of soup. A shrimp appetizer. As the vegetables were prepared, our chef prepared an onion ring volcano & lit it on fire, to the delight of a little boy seated with us and his family. Fried rice was prepared. Then the meats that each guest requested with steak prepared to your liking. I requested mine medium rare and it was PERFECT along with my grilled shrimp and mound of rice . White, ginger, & hot sauce provided. Specialty drinks and a sushi bar are offered. They offered a nightly special. This was a relaxing, fun and delicious experience.

The food was very delicious. It only took a few minutes to get a table. There was a couple seats between us and the other family and it was like that at their othercook tables also. All of the staff had on masks. We had enough leftovers to eat 2 more meals for each of us. I would recommend this place to everyone.

Excellent FOOD!!! And LOTS of IT!!! If you leave hungry its your OWN fault!!! The chef is mesmerizing to watch prepare the WHOLE meal RIGHT AT YOUR table!! Its a little pricey NOTHING is under $20 BUT ahhhhhh it literally melts in YOUR mouth!! Definitely recommend EVERY one to experience this place at LEAST once!!!

Fantastic japanese food. Priced a little higher but thats because of the chefs performance and skill. The materials used are premium so you get what you pay for.

I loved this place because the food is great!. This was my first time dining here and it will NOT be my last. The service was good and our hibachi chef was pretty entertaining. This restaurant is a little smaller compared to other Hibachi restaurants Ive visited but the taste and quality of food makes up for it. I had plenty of food to take home with me. Great food staff & cook..

My wife and I love coming here for date nights. We havent been in a while from trying out other places in town, but recently revisited. Food was delicious as always. More than enough food and always some for take-out. That said, I must admit that the chef wasnt nearly as entertaining as they normally are. I havent had this particular chef before. He cooked everything perfectly. And definitely took care of us. But there was close to zero actual interaction. We will most definitely go back though for sure!

Phone message says no reservations but we were told we had an hour wait to see if a party of 8 were going to show up?? 3x in 1 week there was an hour wait, we tried different times and always an hour

Really nice place for anniversary, birthday, or very special occasion. Definitely pricey but it’s a great experience. Food is always great and they offer plenty of white sauce for my food. I feel like I don’t get enough time to actually eat the food at the actual restaurant because by the time the cook is done, after 10 to 12 minutes they’re taking up money and offering doggy bags. Wait can definitely be long. Hours really.

Great food! The chef was fun and exciting. He kept the excitement going with jokes and laughter. He also Incorporated the whole table. The only down side was the soup lady! She had an attitude because she felt as tho she was coming to our tables too much, to bring soups. (Go figure lol) other than her attitude I enjoyed my time there.

I love Sappari!!! The food is always delicious! Always! The place was packed so we had drinks. The bartenders were very friendly and the drinks were very good. We didnt wait long and we were seated. The waitress was very friendly. The chef was awesome! Very enjoyable evening.

Best Japanese steakhouse Ive been to and Ive been to a lot of them. The dining area really does need a good face lift though.

So I received a appetizer that looked like scraps. I asked the employee to change my order, and I was told that I had to pay for something that I didn’t even touch and pay for my new order. After it was established that I wasn’t eating or paying for the unwanted appetizer, the employee went to talk about the situation to other coworkers, which all gave a look to my table. When I received my bill the employee kept the untouched appetizer on the tab. I said I wasn’t paying for the appetizer but I’ll pay for anything I ate. Minutes went by and the employee came back with a new bill without the appetizer on it and I was told that I was no longer welcomed. P.s. that was from the manager, but instead of telling me herself she let the employee say it. Further on I saw the manager and tried explain what happened. I was told that once something is ordered you must automatically pay for it. I then mentioned that that’s nowhere on the menu. She said there is a sign up front stating that once food is ordered you must pay for it. I went to look at the sign and it was little less than a half of sheet of paper stuck on the wall above my eye level. She then mentions “your lucky I didn’t call the cops” and might I add the appetizer was only $7.50. You mean to tell me that your willing to call the cops for less than $8, even after I asked to just change my order that I would gladly pay for. The manager was rude the entire time and obviously doesn’t know what customer service is. I don’t recommend this place to anyone, especially if your like me and would like your money’s worth instead of scraps.

My husband and I really enjoyed ourselves! The food was delicious and sooooo much food! The chef was delightful and our table carried on am engaging conversation. Id definitely recommend visiting the Sappari for an amazing experience.

Haven’t been to Sappari’s in 15 years or so. Returned last night. Sad. Place hasn’t gotten any better. Same carpet, same wallpaper. Dumpy. The ventilation wasn’t working well and the place was half filled with smoke. They do not accommodate shellfish allergies well. Felt like a Chinese buffet just in a hibachi setting. The shrimp appetizer was well over cooked (rubber) and so salty I couldn’t eat it. Probably will not return. The sushi was very slow getting to the table. Miserable all around. Sad. I used to love this place.

Negative: the chicken was dryPositives: the cooks are great at what they do. I usually get the filet mignon and the shrimp, which is amazing and juicy. If youre not a big eater, I would share a plate with another person to save $$$.

I feel totally outcasted by this restaurant. My sister and I have food allergies. Our family and friends understand this and are will to go without so that we can all enjoy our evening together. Management states that since we have these allergies that they can not cook for us because we didnt have enough to feel a whole table. She/owner was very rude when speaking to my sister. We will NEVER spend our money at a place that doesnt respect their customers and their unfortunate circumstances

Our experience was very subpar with more negative than positive. We were added to a table so 2 of our party were behind the chef and on the other side of the half and half set up for 2 table top cookers. Then the chef miscounted and I recieved the leftover food which was honestly less than my 2 kids meals. We also ordered sushi and the tuna was brown. We mentioned this as to why we did not eat it and repeatedly said it did not taste right or look right.Definitely wont be back.

Today, I came here with my parents. The waitress treated us extremely rudely. My mother isnt allowed to eat extremely large portions, as per doctors instruction. They would not accommodate my mothers special request for the food. Upon speaking to the manager (who was equally as rude), we were asked to produce proof of any dietary changes. In addition, the manager took my mothers silverware away and essentially treated her like dirt. Overall, a very humiliating and negative experience. We were essentially driven out of the restaurant. If I could give zero stars, it would be at this place. Never Again!

Not much of a Japanese style eater myself with all the extra oils and seasonings, but I guess for those who enjoy that type of food it was okay. Nice experience for the first time. The food is cooked right in front of you and the Chef made sure you had plenty to eat. Friendly environment.

It was quite an interesting and entertaining experience. The food was quite good. However, you may experience a wait time, but that just let you know the establishment is worthy.

1st time going and I loved the experience the chef was very nice he knew exactly what we wanted without telling him and it was nice having dinner with other people they was nice as well. I will definitely be going again. The wait was about 30 minutes but it was worth waiting glad we didnt leave!! I ordered the steak and chicken with shrimp on the side.

Went with a group of friends and had a wonderful time! My host was great, very funny and friendly. The food was delicious and a reasonable for the amont of food and entertainment that came with our meal. Overall a night to remember.

Great food and atmosphere

Been eating at Japanese restaurants for over 4 decades. The sauces were TERRIBLE. The cook was HORRIBLE. The food was mediocre, and thats giving it more than it deserved. The hoods were not working appropriately and the place was smokey. Will not be going here again.

Great atmosphere! Chef had a wonderful sense of humor. However, i felt rushed to finish my meal in order to make room for arriving customers.

Terrible customer service. Never saw a place have so many signs that you should not eat here. They don’t even allow you to serve birthday cake if u come here to celebrate a birthday.

Always enjoy eating here, obviously its very fresh and i over eat every time. Customer service is top notch!!!!

My family goes here at least once a month. You definitely get you moneys worth. Super friendly people that work here except for one waitress. Glad we aint had her in a while.

Super delicious food, but the prices are always going up, but the restaurant feels like it hasnt been properly cleaned in YEARS. theres a sticky, dusty feeling all over the place.

Probably the best hibachi style restaurant we have tried. The food was excellent and the value was amazing. You get a ton of food.. rice and protein for the money. We ordered the ribeye which must have been close to 16 ounces and large shrimp which were 15 huge shrimps.

I dine there about once a month. Overall, Ive had good experiences. The food is some of the best Ive tasted in NC. Not sure why they stopped putting egg in the rice like they used to a few years ago. The egg mixed w/ rice was so delicious. Sappari is pricey so it is not the kind of restaurant you would want to frequent with your family every weekend(unless you are Bill Gates or Warren Buffett..lol). Also, there is one waitress who takes 10 or 20 minutes before she returns to give you a refill on your drink. My biggest complaint is like most of the others that posted up here---waitresses rush with the bill as soon as the chef finishes serving you. They do not give you ample time to enjoy your food. Aside from the customer service issues, it is a pleasant restaurant & I would recommend it to any first-timers. The 4 stars is entirely for the quality(and quantity) of the food. They will give you enough to fill your stomach AND have plenty left over to take home for lunch the next day.

Went to a Benihana last Sat evening. Overrated and overpriced. $11 for ONE Asahi beer? My wife and I can both dine at Sappari for what it cost at the other place. We ALWAYS enjoy the entire experience at Sappari. The food, the energy, the interaction with the cooks... all of it. Sappari feels like home. The other place, cold and no where near as enjoyable.

This place is totally focused on hibachi so the sushi really suffers. If you’re in the mood for hibachi with good atmosphere and no sushi, or if you aren’t picky about sushi, this is the place for you. If you really like good sushi try somewhere else.

This is by far my most favorite place to eat in Greenville. The food is always great, have always had friendly service. It might take a minute to get a refill from time to time but this place is normally packed and a waiter/waitress can only be in one place at a time. Ill be in there tonight as a matter of fact.
