I sent in a Directional Gyro for repair from my PA-28, because the heading adjustment knob had internally detached. Although the knob came back repaired, the face of the compass card had been repainted & had overspray on the face making it more difficult to read, in addition the gyro precesses severely now. Truly disappointed with this service. I would like to have it actually fixed so its in BETTER shape then when I sent it in not WORSE, and did not want to wait another 45 days with a non IFR capable aircraft.
What a great place. The owner is a good man, who makes great deals. Leroy can be trusted to help solve your problems in the Aerospace industry.
I sent my Directional gyro to Kai at AQI because it was precepting in a 30°to 40° bank. When it was returned to me the card was vibrating so badly it was blurry and it would not hold a heading at all.I called and spoke with him and he told me to send it back. When I gave him a follow up call after he recieved it, he told me he would not warrenty my DG that worked worse than when I sent it because I did not return it in a big enough box. I am out over $400 sending and paying AQI to not fix my DG plus A&P labor.I then sent it to RC Kelley the manufacture for a factory overhaul and they were astounded I was treated like this and were excellent to work with. Emptor caveat. There is no warrenty with AQI.
Aircraft quality instruments does a nice job of cleaning up old gauges and overhauling them. I sent an Attitude indicator in for service and when i received it back in two weeks. It looked as if it was brand new indicator. if you are willing to wait the 2 weeks sent it to them. thanks AQI
Good customer service. Quick to answer the phone and quick turn around time on repairs.
