We love the Wichita Art Museum, especially their Art Start program. Samantha is so sweet and patient with the kids. They have a cool bridge that you can go on if you take your shoes off that is on top of various Chihuly Art Glass. I love that this Art museum feels very welcoming and not stuffy at all. Dont miss the great climbable sculptures you can find around back.
FABULOUS smaller museum with a wonderful permanent collection including Frederic Remington, Mary Cassatt, Winslow Homer, and two permanent Dale Chihuly installations among others. There is always at least one wonderful exhibit going on. The Museum is a nice modern style and is available for receptions and other functions. Lots of fun pieces from classical to modern for the whole family to enjoy. ❤️
Loved it! Look forward to returning. We also enjoyed a delicious piece of cake in the cafe. It is inspiring to see some of the paintings and art work though time also. Im a Artist looking to get get back to my skills in art and seeing others inspiring pieces gives me more desire to find the time to get back to it. Its beautiful where they placed the museum next to the river front too. Had wished I had .ore time to spend there.
This is a really nice art museum and they always have a rotating exhibit so its something new to see every visit. They also have yoga outside with all of the sculptures and Saturday is free admission. We always bring our out of town guests here and they have enjoyed it too.
This was a blast for the whole family, I highly recommend spending an afternoon here. I have 2 boys under 5-years-old and they stayed interested the whole time going through the art exhibits. The Living Room portion was definitely a highlight for the boys. They had a craft for kids to do which made the whole experience even better. Definitely going to make this a regular event for our family!
Great place to bring your kids. They had more fun than I expected.
Always amazing peices inside and outside. Everyone should take a chance and walk the glass bridge to see the unique blown glass pieces beneath their feet
Great museum, worth a visit just for the Chihuly glass.. The cafe has some tasty affordable options.. Fun art projects for kids. Highly recommend a visit.
We visited on a Saturday. Saturday is a free day. Enjoyed the painting and the sculpture and other works of art. We used the stairs but there are elevators.
We had a wonderful time! Quite a few impressive pieces! Some, I missed the mark on.. we had fun over all!
Living in Wichita I have been more times than I can count. Museum is always clean, free on Saturdays and good family fun in general. The downside... unless they have an exhibit come through NOTHING ever changes. Same paintings, same everything from what I can tell from the last 20 plus years. Like I said... free on Saturdays!
The Muse Cafe is a hidden gem! Go eat there. Have coffee there. Enjoy The view! Great prices, many awesome things to see. Highly recommend
Great collection of American art. Special visiting exhibits of high quality.
Toured the exhibits and then ate lunch in the museum cafe. Delicious food and attentive staff.
1st time I have been in years. Very enjoyable. Wide variety of art. Gift shop is pretty cool.
Very nice. Enjoyed going through it
Loved it! Went on the book sale weekend so it was free but I will totally return another day. Mu family had a great time!
Nice mid-sized museum with a great glass collection, and lots of works by Marquis! Loved the Chihuly glass walkway and chandelier on display!
Great Fathers Day Lunch @ the Muse Cafe, then tour of Glassworks artists work. However, blown glass that looks like textiles boggles the mind!
Excellent combination of permanent art with the current celebration of female art work on the first floor.
First time I have been and it was amazing! I was very impressed with the whole experience. There were local artists and collections, lots to see and experience. I had a lot of fun with my kids and wife when we went. The give you a map for the exhibits and how to navigate through, then in the Living Room you can do a scavenger hunt and relax. It was great, will definitely go again!
I love the wichita art museum every time I go it seems like a new experience.
It is a nice museum plus it is free on Saturday.
I think the foot in the door exhibit was fantastic. We have a wonderful Museum but for it to call upon the local talent is such a great opportunity to build the art community spirit.
Beautiful and extensive collection of paintings and sculpture. Right now they have a special exhibit of African American art. If you have the chance, definitely stop in.
Great staff, we arrived 25 minutes before the kitchen closed send they took our order without rushing us. Great food. Great atmosphere wonderful meal
Nice collection of Kansas and midwestern landscape and life art. Read the stories and they come alive. Lots of reflective seating areas. Nice restaurant too.
Great museum! The gift shop ladies were SO NICE!! Definitely will be coming back!!!!
Experience the cafe for the 1st time. Very good food and service
Loved last nights zoom collaboration with Forum Theatre. Wonderful way to open our minds.
Saw the African American exhibit, so cool. And the Foot in the Door exhibit so inspiring to see local artist stuff. What a talented art community we have .
I had so much fun there. They had so many cool paintings. My favorite was the French painting called The Pit by a German artist George Gross. It depicts WWI and the horrors of what happened durring that time period. There are people drinking their fears away, people carrying their limbs that were amputated off, bodies being dropped into a river that were killed or diseased, fire everywhere, people going crazy, and there is so much going on that I stood there for 10 min but sadly had to leave. If you look at it, it looks like the cover of a metal band, and it is. The band is called Ares Kingdom and the cover is The Unburiable Dead. I had fun and you should go there to. They also had the original painting called mother and ciled by Mary Cassatt.
A great art museum, made even better by the fun events they do. Admission is free on Saturdays, but it is worth paying for any day. The outdoor sculptures make a trip to the WAM an indoor and outdoor experience. The children’s room always has a set of activities that will kindle the artistic spirit in your little ones. The museum’s collection is full of amazing works, and their special exhibits are well-curated. This is a must-visit for locals and out-of-towners.
We went to the Muse for Fathers day Sunday brunch. Delicious!!
The Wichita Art Museum is a treasure of the city. A beautiful building and a knowledgable and hard-working staff who strive for artistic excellence. The permanent collection is impressive as are the temporary exhibitions, such as the current one on Georgia OKeefe, which should not be missed! Hats off to WAM!
Very nice building. Not much art....
Veery small bet well done museum you can enjoy hoppers as well.
I loved the museo and the awesome piano player.
Saturday is free entry and went for the first time. Has a nice flow to the area, a lot of different and unique pieces with descriptions behind it all. Definitely worth a visit and look forward to returning.
The Wichita Art and museum is a fantastic place to see quality art. The garden surrounding the museum is just as impressive!

It’s seems to be expensive compared to what it offered. Lady at the desk was welcoming and liked stuffs made of glasses.
Loved the unique glass exhibit.
Fun place to spend a hot afternoon with the kids. Remember to get a souvenir from the gift shop
Lovely museum, beautiful works, with a friendly team!
Had so much fun at the Wichita Art Museum!
Great place to visit with the family! Explore the exhibits, learn about the artists, enjoy the art, get inspired.
Would like to see more contemporary and modern exhibits here, well curated and free on saturdays!
It was amazing.
Very nice clean, quiet museum for socially distanced visiting. Interesting traveling exhibits. Plenty of hand sanitizer available and a great restaurant with safe dining.
They always change the art up so its new and awesome stuff to check out. Plus great kid activities!
Such an amazing place. My 5 year old granddaughter loved it.
Great exhibitions in a beautiful building.
WAM is a Wichita treasure. Everyone should visit at least a few times a year to remind ourselves what art is. Saturday is free, so take your hangover to look at some art next weekend!Oh, and if you have kids they have a very cool kids section with crayons and puppets! (These things also exist if you do not have kids.) Also check their social media or web site for fun events. Again, FREE ON SATURDAY!!!P. S. Yes, I did see this moth at the museum, but he was a fellow guest, not an exhibit.
Loved it, especially the glass artwork.
Very interesting!
We really enjoyed the Preston Singletary exhibit and the story associated with it. The lunch was really good. As a senior to advantage of the senior hour. They were very clean and safe.
I enjoyed it and the staff was very helpful.
Really great place for the family!
Friendly service, clean environment, delicious food.
WAM is a wonderful place!
The gift shop is great. I always enjoy viewing the displays as I am an avid art enthusiast.
It had nice exhibits, however, only one immersive exhibit and the rest (other than the few collections) felt thrown together and disjointed. Still worth going to see as the art is beautiful.
Awesome art museum the art is amazing
Nice to have some culture in a smaller town.
I LOVE coming here to see the art. The exhibits change from time to time so the view is fresh.
So many things to look at, so many local artists, really enjoyed, everything about it, every turn was like a new adventure, and the people working was so knowledgeable,
Great art museum, very well laid out, very inviting and flows well. The folks attending the museum are present and helpful without being intrusive. The displays are always set up in a thoughtful manner that compliments the subject matter. Weve visited many displays here over the years and are always impressed. Very convenient and well maintained.
The Wichita Art Museum is a fun place to take family and friends to, it is free on Saturdays. They always have new exhibitions and if you are a student or under 17 you get in for free which is awesome. Being an artist myself, I find this is a great place to be creative as well as admire the pieces. There is a cute little gift shops which has tons of unique and fun items. There is also a small cafe as well. All the staff here are very nice & welcoming!
