Terrible staff and doctors. My husband has had glocoma for over 17 years and we moved to Kansas about 4 years ago and needed to find him a new vision doctor. At first they were okay, but then they changed his primary doctor without asking to Amy Goetz. She was ok at first, when he had to have cataract surgery and procedure to lower pressure in one eye. This past year, our medical health plan changed and they said they did not accept it and that he would have to pay for his special glaucoma testing out of pocket which was over $500 each time. He chose not to do it and just have his pressure tested at his normal yearly eye exam when our vision insurance covered. Because he chose not to have the testing done, Amy refused to refill his eye drops medication that keeps his eye pressure down. These drops are not addictive nor a narcotic. After having to call the office and getting upset with them, she finally did refill it. Then she called him to visit about the testing and informed him she had made an appointment with an eye doctor at another clinic that took low income patients. She did this without our knowledge or consent. We canceled the appointment because we are not low income, we have insurance, he just chose not to have the extra testing done because they did not take our insurance. A few weeks later he needed his second eye drop medication filled, and again she refused to fill it. This time when we called to deal with it they said he was no longer a patient there and that his records had been transfered to the other eye doctor she had made an appointment with. WHAT! Not only did they violate HIPAA because they never had his permission to do that, but come to find out, after a long phone call with our medical insurance, they actually do take it and Amy is contracted with them. I would give them zero if I could. The office help was so rude and what Amy did was unacceptable. The prescription was refilled and a few days later he got a certified letter stating he had been dismissed from her office. Really???!!! He will never go back there and I hope anyone who reads this will stay far far away!!!
The eye doctors Cline and Goertz are great. If you order glasses from them, be ready for a long wait. I ordered a new set of glasses on 8/24/21 and almost a month later they are still not in because they send them all over to get them done; including St Louis, and Kentucky. My script may change by the time I get them...They need a lab closer to Wichita. Problem is we have to get the glasses where we get the eye exam for insurance to pay for them. They offered me a refund which I may yet take them up on... but the price is good.
I did not have a good experience here. I went here for 3 years and had experiences like hearing the receptionists gossip in the lobby, refusing to ship/trouble in delayed picking up items, and never having my type of toric contact lenses in stock so I would have to make a total of 3 stops to complete a new contact prescription. Their website is finicky to login to, so you need to call in. If you call the office, you go straight to a rude voicemail that says to only contact them once until they contact you back. I obeyed, and was contacted twice by text and calling, even though I said text was better. Because of the double reply, there was confusion. I asked for my updated contact prescription which they couldnt provide because they didnt check how the contacts fit at a second appointment. They said it was the law for a second check up appointment but it was during the covid lockdown. I personally know someone they waived the contact check up (what happened to the law there?) and I have two children under 2. Finding a babysitter during covid for all these appointments is not easy and they dont allow anyone but the patient into the office. When it came down to it, they continuously failed in being helpful. I only gave it a two star instead of one because I really liked Dr Goertz.
My children and I have been seeing Dr. Cline for several years. We were originally referred to him for vision therapy for my daughter. We saw Dr. Cline and Ms. Charlotte for about 16 months of therapy. My daughters vision improved dramatically. Dr. Cline truly cares for his patients outcomes. He was so determined to make even more progress in my daughters case, that he offered to continue therapy, and not charge us for the extra sessions if we didnt see further improvements. He was true to his word. We did the last four months of therapy, unfortunately not seeing much more improvement over the first year of therapy. We didnt receive a bill for any of those additional sessions. Dr. Cline is kind, caring, and compassionate. He always acts with the highest integrity. We will continue to use Dr. Cline as long as hes practicing. *At times the office staff has been lackluster, but Im there to see the Dr., so I can deal with those occasional issues.
Dr Blasi is the best and her staff is first rate!
I’m frustrated, this years eye exam has not been pleasant. There was new staff who didn’t know what was going on and my doctor rushed me because he had somewhere to be. When had my annual exam I had ordered glasses and was hoping to have them before I left for over a week on business. They told me they wouldn’t be in until I had left which I was fine with, but then I was notified today that they were in which I was excited about. However after just making the drive to the office I discovered they closed at noon. Now normally I would expect a doctors office to be open into the afternoon, and I’m not sure why the staff who called me couldn’t have given me a reminder as I’m only there once a year. That is after multiple phone calls as they never answer the phone. When I went in to pay for contacts the receptionist said that the line always goes to an answering machine and they respond when they get time. I’m not in the medical field, but I know you can’t keep a business going if people can’t figure out how to get information or schedule an appointment. This year’s experience as a whole has not been pleasant and I’m not sure if I would recommend them to anyone anymore.
Best place in Wichita to take care of my vision!
Dr Cline is great. However, his staff not so much. The receptionist was on a personal call for multiple minutes while a line was forming to check in. She was also not very friendly to me or any other customers that checked in. I then had to wait AN HOUR AND A HALF just to pick up one pair of glasses as there was only one staff member working. They then pulled someone else back to pick up glasses who checked in after me. Multiple other staff members walked by to see the packed waiting room and never offered to help. I was specifically told to come in this day to pick up my glasses and took off of work to complete this as their hours do not allow for after hour pick up. Seriously considering taking my vision care elsewhere
Great staff greeted me with a smile. Dr Amy Goertz is a fantastic optometrist!
Just moved to Wichita for first visit with great doctor & staff. Nicest thing is the impressive results!
Dr Blasi is awesome as well as the rest of the staff. They are very helpful!
Best optometry Ive seen so far. Most other groups seem to rush through the vision tests to sell you frames, but these guys are dedicated to getting you the best prescription and solution. Theyre personalized, highly respectable, and flexible. I wouldnt go anywhere else.
I ordered lenses for my existing frames. When I received them, the lenses were loose in the frames. I told them I didnt want them in that condition so, they sent it to the lab. I waited 3 weeks for them to tell me they broke my frames. They knew about my frames a week after they sent it. I received no call from them for 2 additional weeks. I had to drive there, for them to tell me. I would never go here again. They dont put you the customer first.
My wife and I have been displeased with Dr. Klein and his staff for a couple of years now but this time, finally, is the last straw. Wichita Vision Care (West Maple location) has always had a poor, disinterested, lousy and unfriendly staff. We know that going in and accept it. I ordered my usual year’s supply of contact lenses and chose to have them delivered to my home - past years have taught me that picking them up at their office is too much of an ordeal. Any time you say “contact lenses” at a front desk in an optometrist office and get blank stares as if they’ve never heard of such things, followed by an exhaustive and confused search for the elusive lenses, year after year, the safer bet is to opt for delivery. This year I received 7 boxes instead of the 8 that was ordered. I did not consider this to be a big deal - these things happen. I called the office on a Monday and got voice-mail. “Shockingly” this call was not returned. Of course, when one of the hapless front desk drones forgot to charge me the co-pay the previous week, a call from the office was placed to my home within minutes after I left the office. It’s always serious business when a medical entity is separated from any amount of cash, but when a customer gets shorted on an order that was paid for, it’s handled in the lazy and incompetent manner you’d expect from a bush league establishment like Wichita Vision Care.I ended up making a total of nine calls over three days that I don’t care to rehash in exquisite detail here, but they involved several bungled phone transfer attempts - listen, if you can’t properly transfer calls, try literally any other occupation that does not involve answering phones. Got the runaround from a “case detective” because naturally I must be lying and willing to go through this multi-day ordeal for a free box of lenses. We feel that Dr. Klein is a very good optometrist and have no complaints about his actual work. His arrogant smugness and complete unlikeability is something that can normally be overlooked with a slightly more competent staff. We’ll take our chances next time with a new eye doctor.
Dr. Cline is a great doctor with the best technology. If you want a thorough exam, come here.
Dr. Goertz is friendly, knowledgeable, and great with all ages of kids.
So far we love it! I was super nervous about finding a new eye doc, but I havent been disappointed!
Everyone is super friendly and very helpful.
