Prices are affordable as well.Now the negative. I dont know if they use MSG or just a ton of salt with everything (even the bread was salty), but it put both of us down for the afternoon. I have drank two gallons of water this afternoon/evening to clear myself up. If you arent sensitive to this, the food is good. If you are, beware.

I’m from TN and decided to stop here for a quick breakfast meal and all I can say is WOW food was delicious and definitely filled me up. Highly recommend this place for anyone that wants some amazing tasting food made from scratch

My husband and I go for breakfast at least once a week. Incredible breakfast choices, have never heen disappointed. Today I had a surprise 75th Birthday breakfast for my mom, had 15 people invited. The waitress and service was spectacular. The fact that they got all 15 meals out at the same time is true talent, especially because the diner was packed. Not sure if it was the owner or the chef that came out to see whos birthday it was and offered a dessert on the house. Highly recommend for breakfast or a special gathering.

Stopped in for a Sunday early morning breakfast. I had the marscapone cheese and strawberry brioche french toast...delish! Also had the corned beef hash made fresh Evey morning. Perfectly crisp and soft but not a fan of the red and green sweet peppers. They tended to overpower the dish. Would have preferred it without them. A bit more sweet onion and a little less salt would have been great too. Hubby had the basic 2 egg hash brown and ham off the none breakfastPlease note they do not have the typical diner combo breakfast. Everything is separate so it makes the price a bit more than your typical Diner breakfast. The only complaint he had was the ham was not a good quality off the bone cut. It was a ham steak from a typical football type ham and very salt. With a little tweaking I would give it 5 stars. The staff was very kind and the place super clean. Not a bad find on the fly.

Had breakfast. Waitress was very pleasant but very slow to refill coffee, had to ask. Food was reasonably priced. The only thing I would say is that it was extremely greasy.

Price is high for the condition of the dining room, but the food was excellent, service was good. Second time going was disappointing. Food quality was not great and wait for food was much longer. I was relayed a message from management that the food was made the same as it always is and if they remade it, it would come out the same. Wont be going back. The dining room tablecloths are disgusting, ceiling is falling in places and floor is peeling up in places.

My fiancé and I had brunch here on a Sunday and had a wonderful experience! The Banana Bread French Toast and the Eggs Benedict were delicious! Our server was friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back!

This place was really busy. I would rate our food as OK. I had the biscuits and sausage gravy with 2 eggs. Although there was plenty of sausage, the sausage and gravy was bland. My fried eggs were ok, almost seemed poached than fried. My wife ordered a breakfast special of french toast and ham. She said the french toast was over cook on one side and barely cooked on the reverse side. You can make your own decision on the small paper thin piece of ham.

Had a bite to eat here recently for the first time since it reopened. It was very good. I had the nested egg BLT! It was one of the best BLT sandwiches Ive had in a long time. I recommend this restaurant.

We go to both restaurants but mostly to Anthracite Cafe. First if they are running one of their week long specials like bacon week (the best ever) call for reservations cause the place will be packed. Great craft beef selection and featured cocktails. Even on the nights when you couldnt squeeze another person in (before COVID of course) service was timely, friendly and fun. How many places can have comfort food options like 6 different mac and cheese options, seafood, the best meatloaf, steaks, ribs all on their everyday menu and do them all very well. Then specials that are unique and affordable. I cant say enough about the Anthracite Cafe it is in my top 5 places to go to ever.

So, I generally like this place, especially for breakfast. Ill even drive out of my way to go there. Last week, however, I could have driven nails with my sausage patties. I never look for a price adjustment, etc. and I managed to eat most of them by soaking in some egg yolks, but when I mentioned it to the waitress, I may as well have told the salt shaker. OK. Finished my breakfast and was checking out.... How was everything? Oh, about 50% so-so. Answer to that??? Nothing. Crickets. Why did you ask? Didnt you want to know why I didnt say good or great? No, I guess you didnt. Then why ask?Youll note I gave 4 stars and thats because I dont judge on one visit or incident. But I do hope that the owner reads this. I believe he cares about his diner and probably should se if his employees do as well.

My wife and i stopped in for lunch.The waitress that seated us seemed like her job was a burden complaining as she was leading us to our seats that things where to much today.I had the cheese steak it was good but the fries where seasoned .They dont tell you that .With high blood pressure not good.My wife had pork barbq she said it was good she had tater tots with it .They where over cooked. Coffee was burnt and very strong. Menu is not your typical diner food missing a lot of the old-fashioned diner food.Not a big fan of this place .

First time here and I think I found my new go-to breakfast spot! This used to be Andys Diner. Menu is big and filled with so many amazing breakfast choices. When given a choice of potatoes to go with your breakfast, you can choose from at least 5 different options including onion rings! The potato casserole was cheesy and DELICIOUS! Theres so many meat choices as well, including scrapple (my fave). I order the Short Rib Omellete and it was very flavorful with the perfect amount of meat, cheese and onion. My friend loved her Tony Soprano omelette, which was filled with a bunch of Italian meats and cheese. The service was top notch and our server was very helpful, friendly and attentive. No alcohol served here but I did see something about $4 BYOB Bloody Marys. Cant wait to return!

This is a great go to breakfast spot. They have all the usuals but also so many unique dishes. I love the banana bread French toast. It is absolutely amazing and one of my favorites. I recently tried the fruity pebbles French toast and that was also EXCELLENT. My husband loves the meat lovers omlet and the cheese steak omlet. Weve been back several times. Always consistent. They also have a great kids menu for breakfast and lunch. We had takeout lunch as well and everything was packed up great. Its tough to find a restaurant that does both dine and takeout well, but The Scratch Kitchen does it all!
