To start, this is the most professional automotive experience Ive had in a long time! I had been running around for two days looking to get a state inspection. After having no luck with two other places, I called and spoke with Michelle and she was able to get me in right away! As soon as I arrived, they were able to take my car in. That NEVER happens! John performed my state inspection in what felt like 20 minutes! I have never been in and out so quickly in my life! I appreciate the professionalism as well as the courtesy from the staff and will continue to come here in the future!

I don’t know where to begin about the service that I received. These guys are awesome. I have been taking my car to Chevy dealership and I will never again take it to the dealership. The amount of time that have been skewed over at the dealership is awful. These guys told me what’s wrong with my car up front and what we can do for you. This shop has my highest recommendation! The level of service is above and beyond any expectations that I had. Their entire staff are incredibly helpful!My wife and I were on a road trip, towing a travel trailer, when my truck began overheating. We made it to our Campground and I was unable to work on the truck. I called every service shop in the area, and the team at American Pride were the only shop who would help an out of towner in need on a holiday weekend.The entire experience was as good as a person could ever hope to have when your vehicle needs a new water pump unexpectedly!I cannot say enough how fantastic this shop is!

Rear axle replacement on my suburban. It drives like a dream now and is so quiet. It was an expensive part buy came with a good warranty and the car is worth it. Im going back just hopefully not for a while. The communication was exceptional.

First time around on getting Virginia State inspections done on my vehicles. I know shops have a very detailed list to follow and the integrity of their work is on the line when they place a “valid” sticker on your windshield. As a marine mechanic and inspector by trade, I am always a bit cautious when someone is inspecting or working on my vehicle (I do a lot of my own work). This shop is very professional and the explanation of what might be wrong or needs attention is spot on. The staff there is very friendly. My hat goes off to Michelle at the front desk for handling rapid fire appointments and showing remarkable composure when dealing with customers who are often stressed out (that is a self reflected comment as well). I give American Pride Automotive two thumbs up.

We were visiting Williamsburg from Michigan and experienced car trouble yesterday afternoon. American Pride came up on a goggle search and are we grateful to have found them!They checked everything out, determined it was the air conditioning compressor and before 9:00 this morning had us ready to go.Everyone was super nice and went out of their way to help us get on the road home.Highly recommend American Pride on Ironbound Rd.

I worked for Chuck after he purchased New Town Auto. Seemed like a good idea to stay and give the business a try and things didnt work out because I actually had a loss in pay due to the new pay rate. I told them I wasnt making enough money to cover my bills and would like to transfer to another shop of theirs and was told no and if I need to quit it was OK because they believe that family comes first. So I found a better paying job and told them I couldnt work for them anymore and they took my $125k worth of tools and stuck them in the parking lot. So if they treated me like that just know how they will treat you

I needed an inspection. The reviews I read were very good so I gave them a try. I loved the online reservation option. The staff is very friendly. The lobby is really nice and really clean.Once my inspection was done the girl went over everything with me for the future. No one tried to push me into this that were not necessary.I will definitely come back. I definitely recommend, especially as a female.

I had used this business when it was new town auto not know ing it has sold the time before when I had used them I told my wife to take her car there for the service from the previous owner. Everything went as planned until car failed inspection. When inquired on price to fix the vehicle got two prices expected. After the second price was told to her for it to pass inspection the service desk man inquired about her being nurse since she was wearing her scrubs to which she replied yes. His reply oh in that case I dont feel bad about the price is the reason for the one star. I will not be using this establishment ever again. I find this rude and unprofessional

I have been a long time supporter of American Pride Automotive and have had service done at all of their locations. I had an emergent need with a piece of metal in my tire and did not want to drive far on my tire so I called them and they fit me in 30 minutes before close. Luckily they were able to repair my tire and I was back on the road safely. Always appreciate the friendly staff they have at each location.

I dropped a truck off after they first opened and returned to pick it up at 3 pm. The inspection was not done so I had to take the vehicle anyway. I asked if they had any openings for the next day and the dude at counter said it looked about like today. So it didn’t get done today so why was I gonna waste my time bringing it back tomorrow. I manage a fleet of vehicles right down the road from them and would have used them for certain items. Nope, not now. I will never go back for my personal or fleet vehicles. I was very unsatisfied. That’s a shame because the previous owner always took care of us. I do not recommend this place!!!

If you want to get quoted $2,000.00 plus for a catalytic converter, then this is the place for you. Absolutely rip their customers off. This place is automatically garbage. Sorry but no thanks.

We are vacationing from New York, ran into car trouble leaving from Busch Gardens and grabbed a AAA tow to this facility after hours. I phoned at 8:00am and was I politely greeted by a receptionist and I explained our dilemma as our travel plans have us leaving for NY on Saturday, regardless of there workload they prioritized the need for my car back and had it diagnosed and repaired 3 hours after my initial conversation. They are a life saver and the bill was fair even though I was desperate !!! Next time in Williamsburg with car trouble - I now I have a go to!!!Thank you - sincerely stranded New York family!!!

I made an appointment out of state for a car used car I bought from a dealership in New York for state inspection for Virginia. Unfortunately the car didn’t pass inspection as it was missing caliper bolts from the brakes. They provided a detailed report complete with pictures. They fixed the problem to pass inspection. I contacted the dealer in NY and showed the evidence. They apologized and agreed to pay for the bill, which was undoubtedly made much easier for me thanks the report American Pride provided.

Michaelle and Connor do an outstanding job managing their services at the New Town location.As a former Air Wing Maintenance Officer I really appreciate the great service continuously provided. From outstanding interaction at the front desk analyzing and scoping the required work to the actual repairs and servicing.When I arrived, Michaelle recommended specific servicing based on mileage, previous maintenance and my recent inspection. Upon completion she relayed the mechanic’s feedback about the condition of the car.More impressive was when a lady visiting Williamsburg called with a minor electrical problem with her lights she wanted corrected before leaving town tonight. Although it was a busy Monday morning, Michaelle told her to stop by and they would fit her in.While waiting the lady explained to me how frustrated she had become calling various other places and getting the run around. Connor stepped out and fixed her problem and then they didn’t charge her anything.They most likely have a high percentage of return customers.

An excellent experience. My appointment time was honored, the work was done in a reasonable amount of time, and they didnt try to sell me unnecessary repairs. I was even told about things that were checked & are in good order.

American Pride Auto of Newtown is one of the best auto shops around. Their services are competitively priced and they dont try to upcharge on services that are unnecessary. They are very detailed in explaining whats wrong with your vehicle and what needs to be done while providing pictures and updates on the vehicles status along the way. The customer service is excellent and Id definitely come back for future repairs.

I recently dropped my vehicle off for an oil change and a state inspection. I was impressed with the communication I received in the form of follow up phone calls and electronic (emails/texts). I also received photos of specific areas of concern which I found helpful. Lastly, everyone I spoke to was courteous and professional.

I’m in town visiting my college student and I notice that there is an issue under the engine that needs to have some bolts put back in. I call American Pride at 5pm and the gentleman tells to bring it in the next morning. I stop in the next morning and within minutes they put my car on a lift and replace the missing bolts. Brock Lewis comes to tell me it all fixed and no charge, within 30 minutes. What a wonderful experience that I received, I’m from New Jersey and I felt like I lived next door. Thank you all for making this mishap a small one.

I have been taking our family cars to New Town Auto for many years for tires, state inspections and other services. My car is always ready promptly and I have never had an issue with any service. Not only that but New Town has taken on some difficult repairs such as a broken timing belt on our PT Cruiser and, most recently, the water pump on my Pontiac Solstice. These are complex repairs and were done expertly at a fair price.Its great to have a friendly, professional shop locally where I can count on honest, dependable service and tires.Kent La Rue5 stars plus!!!!!

We get good service at American Pride. We’ve got four vehicles and one is an oldie but goodie that means a lot to me. The folks at American Pride on Airport Rd take good care of each one at very reasonable costs for service and repairs. I’m a very satisfied customer.

I took my car here for a state inspection just like Ive done for years, not knowing that the ownership just changed. I personally dont know much about cars, so I have to rely on the shops advice, which was never an issue with New Town Auto. I was given a price that was $500 more than the work I needed to pass inspection, without much explanation on what was essential. Luckily, my father was able to call them, figure out why the price was so high, and make sure they only did the essential work. If he didnt talk to them, I wouldve had no clue that I spent double what I needed to pass inspection. I dont recommend bringing your car here.Only redeeming factors were that they got work done quickly and the lady at the front desk was incredibly kind.

I had 2 vehicles inspected. They were professional and timely. Most places will try to create little things that they can over charge you to fix like putting new wipers on when the ones on it are a few weeks old etc. American Pride did none of that and suggested some things but didnt hold the inspection sticker as leverage to get the business.

Went in for a simple state inspection and ended up with a 50+ point vehicle report showing things I needed to address in my 6 year old vehicle. Things like rear pads and rotors to the tune of $412 that I just had replaced a year ago at a shop I trust. They also advised I needed new spark plugs and an intake plenum gasket (that’s designed to last the life of the car under normal circumstances) and wanted $657 to do those repairs. All said and done, they advised of over $2000 in repairs I “needed” either immediately to pass inspection or in the near future.No thanks. I know enough about vehicles to know when I’m being hustled. From now on, I will take my vehicle to a shop that’s further away from my house, but where I know I can get an honest evaluation and estimate.

When i was new to Williamsburg, I asked around and one of the locals recommended American Pride Automotive. I have been going to them for the past 3 years now, for oil changes and routine maintenance, inspections etc. and have not been disappointed. The new location, in New Town, is nice bc it is closer to my house. I receive the same professional, courteous and dependable service as I did at the other location. They are a little high in price, but you cant put a price on peace of mind, reliability and Honesty. I have found them to be an ethical automotive business. This might sound funny, but this is a place you can feel confident in sending your daughter or grandmother to and know they will treat them with respect and not rip them off. They give your vehicle a thorough look over and will let you know what needs to be taken care of immediately and what can wait for next visit.I just dropped off my car for a yearly Inspection and when I picked it up, I only owed the price of the inspection. Ahh what a good feeling.5 stars all day long.

The new ownership stepped up the game. I always trusted the previous owner, so was sad to see him go, but the new ownership added personalized explanation to what they thought was needed, when and why, including pictures and a signed review (taking responsibility).

Although the staff was friendly and very timely with the inspection of my vehicle, none of the staff in the interior of the establishment were wearing masks or any sort of face covering. This is obviously not only illegal, but against state and local laws; very disappointing...

$90 dollars for a oil change ?! Absolutely outrageous. My car dealership is cheaper then that. Nothing but a bunch scammers here. They do extra stuff and then don’t tell you what they did until it’s time to pay. I asked for a oil change. Not all that extra stuff.

I tried seven different places around town to get a state inspection last month. This was the only place that didn’t tell me to try again the next day. I came by around noon and although there was a short wait, the waiting area was comfortable and the staff was very kind.

Its a good place to take your car. They are upfront and honest with the work they do on your vehicle. I feel they take care of my car like they would take care of their own car. They give me a nice diagnostic when I take my car in for oil changes so I know what needs to be taken care of.

The Marcotte family operates professional automotive repair and service facilities. Definitely my choice for car care.
