Very nice furniture and lots of custom pieces. More traditional styling and construction. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. They didnt have what we were looking for and the store was very difficult to navigate in a wheelchair. Price points were high, but very in line with the quality of the furniture.

Horrible communication, nothing but lies. Ordered outdoor furniture in June and was told it would be about 2 weeks. Partial delivery in November, still waiting on multiple products. Missing hardware. I paid for white glove delivery meanwhile half the furniture is clearly not assembled properly. This place stinks, avoid at all costs.

Fabulous experience in finding a replacement for our beloved leather sofa that has served us well. Wasn’t sure that I would be able to find something within our price range. Kirk was wonderful in helping us explore the best options and went beyond in really understanding our needs. Ordered a gorgeous sofa that is probably one of the most comfortable I’ve ever sat on, but still practical and able to stand up to our puppies (and teenage son). Looking forward to (FREE!) delivery, and happy to have been able to purchase quality American made furniture, here locally. Great selection and service - highly recommend 😊.

Wow is all I can say! From the purchase of our sofa/chaise to the delivery everything was perfect! Our sales person was so patient and knowledgeable; she helped us find a quality sofa/chaise and made the ordering so easy! We were pleasantly surprised when our order arrived on the early side. The delivery was perfection with David & Tony, they helped me find the perfect position in the room. Their use of quilts and their assistance putting our sofa together was amazing- I would have had no idea how the separate the pieces if David had not shown me. He also showed me how the separate cushions hooked together and how I could flip them should the need arise. PERFECTION!

My experiences have been inconsistent with the Shops at Carolina Furniture. My most recent purchase and experience has been most disappointing. I purchased a Robin Bruce sofa, which was delivered in October (2019). The construction and quality of the sofa is poor considering the cost and supposed reputation of the company. Ive made two attempts to contact Carolina to find out how to resolve the issues with the sofa - an email to the sales person I worked with and a second via the Contact Us form on their website. Ive received no response to either email. I used to be a huge fan/proponent of this business - over all the furniture stores in Richmond where I live - but that is no longer the case.

A gem of a furniture store for the greater Williamsburg area! Beautiful densely layered displays are the theme here. Fine furniture and accessories, expert sales assistance, endless selection. This store is warm and welcoming, not to mention very expansive.Our sales executive Kirk was professional, informative, and warm in his approach--just the right balance of attention and alone time. He patiently explained options on finishes and fabrics as we toured the various showrooms.Delivery and assembly was as promised at the exact appointment time by two professional delivery people (company employees) in a company truck.Plan to spend some time at this store. I work with a designer named Preston. My husband and I have been married for 25 years - and with a new home purchase, decided to completely change our look to one that is more modern. Preston is not only extremely talented and creative, she is equally patient. My husband and I have been indecisive, not agreeing - a real challenge Im sure. She has worked hard to find the right piece for each area of our home that we tackled. She offers advice and direction with every area of design. We are so happy to have found her and we love what she is doing with our home! Lance, their lead delivery person, is also a delight. Deliveries are quick, efficient and timely. Lance is also very helpful and super sweet. My only wish would be, that the company try to add more modern pieces to the showroom floor. I know this is Colonial Williamsburg, but the juxtaposition can be fun! Love this place! Were lucky to have this company in town!

I despise shopping and was really not looking forward to furniture shopping today. But thanks to Erika, this normally painful process was made quite simple. She’s super easy to work with, understood the “look” we are trying to achieve and put absolutely not pressure on us to buy (we did anyway though).

I went to Carolina Furniture to get a quote on furniture that I had seen elsewhere to do some comparative shopping. The sales person was snippy from the get-go. She pressed me on where I had been shopping and didn’t want to waste her time if I had been at Greenfront because “they are sales clerks there who point you in the right direction”, not a Designer like her. I was asking for a quote, not design consultation and their website and sign clearly state 40-60% off. She got me my quotes, never once asking me if they were competitive, what services they might offer besides design that might influence my decision to be willing to pay more or even the possibility that I might consider something else. (She might have asked what I liked about the things I was getting the quotes on, etc) I live in Williamsburg and was looking to support the local business. I will be working with a great company in Tennessee.

Carolina Furniture Company located in Williamsburg VA carries fine furniture and Karastan Carpets at discount prices. The showrooms are filled with sofas, tables and accessories for every room in your home. Staff is friendly and helpful. Have personally purchased items over the years. Worth a visit.

We loved the customer service here in the lighting department and felt very welcome in the store. Charlotte quickly greeted us, asked us to make ourselves at home, and mentioned she would be right with us after helping some other customers. She did help and behaved very professionally toward us. Based on her excellent customer service and the high quality merchandise available, we did make our lighting purchase there instead of at another lighting store in the Richmond area closer to where we live. It was well worth the drive to Williamsburg!

Nice furniture for the most part. Expensive so Im not certain where the discount comes into it. . Lengthy delivery time. Disappointing customer service; very long wait time. Or they just dont call back at all with information and you have to chase them down. Its really too bad. Guess they dont need repeat business.

I recently purchased a Hancock & Moore leather recliner chair from the Shops at Caroline Furniture and I am very disappointed in the sewing, finishing and construction.. The bottom of the right arm of the chair is noticeably narrower than the left. The stitching on the top of the right arm, at the front, looks like it is ready to pull apart. Seams are also not as straight as they should be for the price of this chair (approx. $3300). The quality of the sewing/construction of the chair is poor compared to a previously purchased sofa from Hancock & Moore. Based on this chair, I cannot recommend H&M if you are expecting high quality in the sewing and finishing of their furniture.

I had a very different experience at Carolina Furniture than the previous reviewer. First, the store and the inventory they carry is beautiful, and the employees there are incredibly knowledgeable about the lines they carry...something you just dont get at most furniture stores and definitely not from mainstream providers like pottery barn or restoration hardware. I have ordered 5 pieces from them, a dining table, bureau, headboard and mattress, day bed, and my most recent purchase was a beautiful sofa. For each order my sales person was responsive, incredibly helpful, and knowledgeable. The delivery was right on target and they called a week beforehand to schedule a time that worked best for me (I live in DC). I also appreciated the fact that the employees with whom I worked were really able to hone in on my desired style and help me realize what I was looking for in each piece- the pieces are all BEAUTIFUL and the employees all have a great aesthetic eye.Overall I highly recommend Carolina Furniture for your furniture needs, I could not be happier with all of my purchases and interactions with the employees...even the delivery men are fantastic!!

Im new to the area and was referred to this company by a real estate agent who regularly sends customers to this store. First of all, they have a ton of stuff which helped me a lot because I needed a lot. The staff knew what they were talking about and took time to help me find things I liked. I will definitely recommend them to friends. Nice experience overall.

We purchased a piece of furniture from Carolina last summer . After we had the piece for 2 DAYS we realized it was not what we wanted. Carolina refused to honor their customer service satisfaction guarantee.They stated the furniture could not be returned. Beware- this company is not a member of the Better Business Butrau.

Lots of furniture but high prices. There are a few different buildings full of furniture but still had to look through catalogs for additional items. Found prices to be higher than similar places on the area. Staff was friendly.

Cannot say enough amazing things about this store and its employees. I live in DC and was in need of a new bed frame and dining room chairs. Unfortunately, I didnt have time to get down to Williamsburg or have a consultant come to my house so I did everything via email and pictures. Joe couldnt have been more spot on in capturing our style and tying it with the style of our new home. I wish I was exaggerating in saying that literally every person who has come to the house has given us major compliments on all the pieces we purchased from Carolina Furniture.The delivery and installation was efficient and the men were so kind.Honestly if you want some with a good eye, valuable products and AMAZING customer service, youve come to the right place!

Beautiful furniture

Recently I purchased a bed. I found the same bed at a furniture store in Farmville Va (Greenfront) for $300 less expensive. However, I decided to purchase the bed locally because I was assured that their customer service was superior over their competitors. When I ran into problems with the bed I purchased. I discovered that was not the case. I was very disappointed at the way they handled my problem.

The salesperson in the carpet gallery was incredibly rude. Lost a sale that day. Real class is kindness; true elegance is making anyone feel comfortable; snobbery is a poor imitation of style and taste.

Wonderful experience shopping here. Kirk was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Definitely recommend.

Although Carolina Furniture has very nice furnishings, I had an unpleasant experience the three times I attempted to shop there. My assumption was that I probably should have worn my Sunday Best with pearls in order to get noticed by their rather pompous sales staff. I think it is interesting to read the other comments.... one of them referred to a previous negative comment.... but it looks like someone has deleted that negative comment!!!! Hmmmmm... Very Interesting!!!! Maybe the only way to make a true impression is to go through the Better Business Bureau!

I had the same experience as another Google reviewer. My husband and I ordered a leather chair, paid for half. They delivered it, it was the wrong color. Salesperson told me that I must be mistaken, I was not (we picked a caramel shade of leather, a chocolate shade was delivered). We went back and forth, round and round. The salesperson was extremely rude. We ordered the chairs in October 2013. Wrong chairs delivered in January. The problem turned out to be that all the Whittemore Sherrill leather samples are of an old dye lot and all of the colors are called the same thing, but are in fact very different from the sample in the showroom. I finally got my refund in May 2014. Also had the same problems getting in touch with Joe, the manager. I had to leave multiple voice-mails, and be extremely firm. He stated that he would be making an exception by giving me a refund. They held my money for the chairs (that I did not get) for 7 months, I still have no chairs, and I had 10% deducted from my refund. Takeaway points: 1) poor customer service 2) inability to deliver product that was ordered 3) Inability to admit mistake and take care it. Advice: Go elsewhere.
