Was told by Nissan dealership we would need a new $11,000 motor in our van. Despite being very busy, Mike let us have our van towed to his shop for a second opinion. The verdict- our engine was fine, and after an oil change our car was ready to go. We are so grateful to them for Couldn’t recommend this repair shop highly enough. The owner Michael is by far one of the coolest most standup guys I’ve ever met I brought in my Winnebago to have a few things done and he made sure what I needed done to take a trip with my family was done in a timely and cost effective manner. Ive known Michael for over 16 years and he is our primary automotive mechanic. He has without fail been there for my family. A family man with an eye on personal service. One time we were stranded in Myrtle Beach on a Sunday and sent a tow truck to get my car AND family, all at a fair price. Once he caught a flaw in our rack and pinion system that was about to break and could have caused my family significant danger. He has truly kept my family on the road from everything to a simple oil change and inspection to major engine repair. The times Ive lived far away from Wilmington, Ive always wished I had mechanics as great as they are in my area. Before I moved, Mike said I could always call him and ask for advice too. This is the first Google review Ive ever written and its due to the quality service these guys have provided. We had originally gone to an unnamed shop who tried to up sale my girlfriend because I was unable to take the car to the shop myself. Frustrated at their slimey business tactics, I searched for other shops and found Mike and his crew. He was honest and genuinely interested in helping us out to the best of his abilities, even going as far as listing the required repairs in order of importance, which was nice on the bank account. Not once did he try to take advantage when I was not able to drop the car off myself. The car is now running better than ever and I am more than happy with my experience here. Thank you Mike and crew!

I was referred to this shop by a friend when my son had some car troubles. Advanced Automotive maintains good communication with you and is upfront about the repair process. Their prices are fair and the quality of workmanship is excellent.

Mike and John and the rest of the staff are extremely courteous and professional, and (most important to me) VERY honest and trustworthy. Most shops will of course be happy to take your money, but these guys are clearly about doing whats right. Once I brought my car to them with what I thought was an issue with the steering, and rather than using it as an excuse to charge me money, they checked it out fully and helped me understand my car didnt need any work, actually. (They were right.) And one of the first times I brought my truck to them, they referred me to the guy that they knew would get the job done best --- a different shop. (They could have done the work, but they said the real expert in this was another guy in town. My truck had a very unusual and specialized issue, and it was clearly more important to them that my truck get fixed right, rather than them get money from me.)As a result, I really trust them, and refer friends to them.Unless you already have a mechanic in Wilmington you trust, you definitely owe it to yourself to try these guys out.
