Charlie at Current Marine was fantastic. Very attentive to details, tidy work, communicative, and fair priced for how good the work is. He installed new speakers, ran all new wires, installed second battery and duel battery switch, installed trim tabs and trim tab switch with indicators, and also bled out some air bubbles in the hydraulic steering. Charlie kept me in the loop along the whole process, even sending me pictures and suggestions. Since he was running so many new wires and had the side boxes off, he asked if we wanted some under gunnel LED lights, which made a huge impact for us in the boat. Charlie also noticed while he was working around the boat that the bilge float wasnt working, and suggested we replace the scuppers for the deck drains while the boat was out of the water. Nice to work with an expert who is looking out for your asset and offering suggestions without just up-selling you.

I had Charlie install a power pole, Second battery with cutoff switch and bank charging system on my 19’ tidewater. He went above and beyond making sure everything was done right and on time and even fixed a few other loose ends on the boat for me while he had it. Great customer service and great quality work. Decided to have my trailers rollers replaced with bunks for my 19ft bay boat, after a roller failure. After getting several quotes from other local trailer/boat mechanics of $1000+ and a 6+ week lead time, I called Current Marine. Charlie told me to send him some pictures of the trailer so I did. He was able to give me a roundabout quote from these photos, and told me he could have it done in around a week and a half.Dropped the boat off, and was given a more accurate price once he was able to look at it and see what all I needed for sure. I felt very confident leaving my boat and trailer with him for the work even after explaining how this was my first boat, and I was very ignorant to the trade. Very quick responses via text, was extremely informative and gave me some pointers and explained a lot to me that I didn’t know.Fast forward a week and some change later, trailer was completed and ready to be picked up. Charlie once again helped me out by explaining a few things, showed me some (obviously) old damage to the bottom of the hull I couldn’t see before, explained the entire cost to me and where every penny of the cost went. In a time where I have had several less than desirable experiences with timeframes and quotes-to-actual-cost, Charlie was able to stick to both almost to a T, and didn’t take advantage of the inexperienced boat owner that I am. The only extra cost came from some risers so the bunks would sit properly against the bottom of my boat.It’s (kind of) a shame I don’t need more work done because I know Current Marine is definitely a reliable place to get repairs done to my new hobby!

First time to use Charlie. Boat ran 13-16mph. Charlie recommend drilling holes to relieve water from underneath as well as other recommendations. Now we are flying at 25mph. Very knowledgeable and professional. Great communication. We WILL BE BACK

We were in Wilmington/Wrightsville Beach for the long weekend over July 4th. We had pulled our boat there from Greensboro.
