This place is a joke ! I called to get information to see what needs to be performed onto my car just to get some background knowledge on what they are tackling to get the job done and the guy that picked up the phone, in other word was like schedule and appointment and give us you money without acknowledging that I wanted to know what they were going to perform. Then said Im not an installer. Listen up Peoples if your trying to get something done and they cant tell you what theyre doing, I would stay away. Go to Bangharts in Westchester their customer service is awesome and the do excellent work.

I received a car from my 92 year old grandmother and was certain that remote start wasnt an option on it. I bought a package from Sound of Tri-State and scheduled an appointment. After I dropped it off I got a call about a half our later letting me know that the car did in fact have a factory remote start on it. I went down there, and Alex showed me how to use it and I was refunded the full amount of the package that I bought. A+ for honesty. I am very happy with the service I got there today. Alex was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I will be back for sure.

They were very knowledgeable and very professional they got me in with in two days and the workmanship was amazing. I love the system and backup camera. Highly recommend. I’m looking forward to the my next time I need anything for my car. These guys are great!

I brought my brand new 2004 Pontiac GTO to this shop back in 2005, not too long after I bought the car, to have the factory system upgraded. My requirements were to keep the factory head unit and not to permanently modify the car. If I could give 0 stars that would be generous... these hacks drilled a hole through the firewall to run a 4 gauge amplifier power cable and it was completely unnecessary. They couldnt even drill the hole straight. There were 2 good options to run the power wire through to the cabin and they chose neither. They also drilled 2 holes through the fuse panel cover, which also serves as a dash panel, to mount a bass control knob and a master volume knob for a JL Audio clean sweep. On top of that, they cut away part of the dash to make room for the controls for the knobs to be mounted behind the panel, permanent damage that can not be fixed short of replacing the dash board.I discovered all of this damage not to long ago as the car is not a daily driver and has been garaged most of its life. I spent $1000 at this place to basically hack my car up. They had it for 5 days and the car sounded worse than stock. I am at fault here for being afraid to take my brand new car apart. I could have done what they did and saved my money. It is absolutely disgraceful what they did to my car.If you value your car, time, and money, do not let this shop work on your car. I have the receipts, pictures and proof of what they did. I no longer live in Wilmington, Delaware and do not want to even hear the excuses for the poor work these people did. You have been warned.

Great service!Ive come to this location to get my car tinted and to get a radio installed. I mostly worked with Diego and he had been FANTASTIC! He is very knowledgeable and patient (I changed my appointment about 6 times and he still helped me with a smile). I always felt like he listened to my concerns and that I was was being steered in the direction I wanted to go in, without ever being pressured into buying a more expensive product just for the sale.I also like the way you get one-on-one service with the people you start with so I was able to work with Diego consistently from day 1 and he kept great notes every time I came in or called in so the process was always smooth whenever changes were made.Each of the 5 stars have been well earned, I would definitely come back again!

Putting a remote starting system that works from my smart phone via 4g mobile (into a hybrid no less) should not be cheap or easy. It wasnt. In fact the first day ended with a non working system. However Diego and the installer were relentless at making it right. Changing to another brand was the way to go... They are very professional in a very difficult profession. If you are getting a modern car worked on, my I suggest being patient and understanding? Believe me, no one at Sound of Tristate is trying to trick you or get a few extra bucks.. These guys love what they do and it shows. Thank You Sound of Tristate.

I called in to make awn appointment for tints. I talked to the representative over the phone. I am very limited on time and wanted to get it done on a specific day. I guess they dont want the business from me. Will never go there again.

I just called this shop to ask about installing a basic radio. I was told to come in, really, theres a pandemic out here and he just refused to give the information over the phone. Ill never recommend this shop to anyone, he needs a course in customer service before they run out of business with him. Keep him in the back working not answering phone

Horrible installation! Will never go back. Charged $100 to install head unit I provided with factory double DIN mounting bracket and didnt even put all the bolts in to hold it and broke off tabs. Not a proper install at all. The unit is terribly crooked and looks absolutely silly! They claimed that it was because I bought the wrong bracket! I fully removed the bracket, installed it CORRECTLY, and nothing was crooked! It wont stay in place though because they BROKE the plastic tabs off of it in their attempt to mount it incorrectly! Total waste of money and damage of my property. This business does poor work and does not warrant or guarantee what they do. My advice is to not give them your business.

I couldnt be more dissapointed with the service and lack of professionalism from this store. I payed to have my amplifier completely reinstalled and they did a 1/2 a$$ job and told me that they saved me money by not charging me more. My sound system sounds 10Xs worse and every time i try to call to discuss the issue i get Diego who is the worst sales/service rep ive ever talked to. please take your car anywhere but here.

The tint on my car was as i expected; well installed, matched the rest of the tint on my car, and was completed at the estimated time. The customer service i received was friendly and has improved since my previous visits. Aside from the services i payed for, the staff at the sound of tri-state was very helpful in helping me with information on other products to help me plan future purchases for my other vehicles. Overall, great service and quality installation.

I had my windows tinted and they did a great job. They took the time to show me all my options and answered all my questions. It was done in the allotted time and Ive never had any issues with the tint in the last 5 years.

Really like the tint i received at this location. they finished my car in a timely fashion and it looked great on my car. I highly recommend going here for your tint services. I gave a 3 start bc recently i bought an auto start for $310.00. The better one of the brand I bought just went on sale for $99.00. they did an okay installation on it. At first it had trouble starting, then i replaced my battery, spark plugs, change my oil everything and now its a give or take. have to go back for them to check it out. Unfortunate with my busy schedule.

Looks nice inside but was shopping for a car starter and they were charging $60 more than the one in Newark. Also I found out the deal the offer through Groupon isnt the bottom price. They said I needed to buy an additional part where as the other store said its a lie since I dont have the kind of car with a chip in the key. So Id say unless you really know you stuff about what you are buying, Id avoid Sound of Tri-state.

I had a remote start installed on my car from SoT last week. It works perfectly and they customer service was great, they took the time to explain everything to me. The only complaint I have is that I cant use my original key fob when I start the car so Im unable to open my trunk from the outside while its running.

They were able to fix my sound system quickly, and did a very good job. The customer service people have all been working there a long time and know what they are doing.

I have to say I have gotten 3 cars serviced here at Sound of Tri-State and I am extremely happy with the products and services I received. The staff was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. They kept my needs in mind every step of the way and didnt try to push anything on me that I didnt want or need. The installation crew was fantastic. Been here several times for remotes starts and window tinting. Never had a bad experience. Staff is helpful & knowledgeable.

Recently had a new Kenwood touch display (including bezel) and Momento M5 front/rear dash cam installed. These guys were very knowledgeable, very professional, and the installers were second to none. The installation was super clean with no wires showing anywhere. I will be back to this location in the future to have other mods done. Highly recommend Tri-State Sound, the Wilmington location! Tried to add some pictures of their work, but Google is showing them as broken links for some reason so I got rid of them.

Staff is not friendly whatsoever. Got a lot of attitude from the kid working behind the counter today. I had dropped my car off to get tinted at 9 a.m. and was told to pick it up at 6 p.m. . I got there at 5:50 and the car still wasnt done. Not returning.

Im giving them 1 star because they dont honor their quotes. I had my car tinted with a groupon and had to pay extra for my windshield to be done. I was told it would be $50.00 and an extra $30.00 for the small side windows on the back doors. Still confused why they wouldnt be included with the backwindow. Anyway when I went to pick my car up I was hit with a $175.00 bill; $125.00 for the windshield and a $50.00 charge for a life time warranty I did not ask for. I got a blank stare when I complained and was told over and over $125.00 no exceptions. How does a business quote you a price and not honor it plus charge you for something you didnt ask for! My groupon already covered a limited warranty that I was fine with. I will never do business with them or recommend them ever! Oh and my friend got a remote start installed and they broke her console and refused to fix it. Awesome.

Had my new Dodge Charger worked on at another shop when it was new. For years I went without backup beep/sensor, less than fubctional bluetooth/voice calling. Paid a lot of money for mid-high end equipment. Recently took car to tristate to see if they could get my stereo system working right. Not only does the sensors, voice call work correctly and amplified hiss all but gone- the stereo sounds so much cleaner. All for less than the quoted price. I am a very satisfied customer. Tri-state will get all my business from this day forward. Beware of lessor installers- I paid for high end equipment, but it was wasted money due to a shoddy install.

I was out to fix my car navi with BestBuy but I was lucky that the technician didnt show up that day. They gave me 5+ hrs for the work. While coming back from BestBuy I just visited Sound of Tri State and that was it. I left my car there, in less than 3 hrs it was up with new Navi and backup cam. Friendly staff and mostly they know what they are doing. Recommend them for anyone. Thanks guys.

I had a radio and an alarm installed at Sound of Tristate. The staff was great and they provided excellent customer service. The Manager, Marlo Abston, took the time to personally explain the ins and outs of my new system and alarm. I will definately be back!

Good installs but crazy markup on wires/cables.

I only gave the 2 stars because I got the window tint for half off due to a groupon. Still have to pay an extra $30 for a lifetime warranty. If I had paid full price, it would have been 1 star. The tink took 3 hours, even with their machine cutting the tint for them. When the gentleman at the counter checked on the car at the 2-2.5 hour mark, he came back with an excuse about stretching the tint over the decals on the outside of the back window. When I finally got the car back, the technician had a myriad of excuses about the inside of the window being scratched for one defect, moisture in between the tint and window causing a poor look. Oddly enough, it looked just like when I attempted window tinting and there was lint from the paper towels in there. Hence the reason for me attempting to have a reputable place perform this task. Then there were excuses about how the dotting at the edge of the windows on the inside precluded the tint from adhering. A basic feat I managed to accomplish in my blubbering attempt at window tinting on a prior vehicle. Finally, there was a Viper logo all over the inside of the tint on the front two windows. I didnt pay to be their sponsor, they should pay me for that feat. You dont even get that with the awful AutoZone window tint rolls! Finally, when they sized the tint on the outside of the window, they sprayed it copiously and left all the residue on the outside of my car. Ive had much better luck at AutoMagic in Glassboro, NJ. Better quality tint for cheaper than the full price here with a lifetime warranty.

Hate this place they want a deposit! Then you gotta wait almost two weeks for service! Not on my watch!
