I stopped by after dinner in downtown Wilmington just to see what they had. The gentleman behind the counter was extremely friendly and knowledge. The overall selection was a little small, bit everything seemed fresh and well taken care of. Id rather a small selection and know Im getting good sticks then the places that have a massive collection but the sticks seem stale. Will stop again next time Im in the area.

This cigar shop was amazing and so was the owner Lior! He was filled with knowledge and made sure we had everything we needed. He was so friendly. Even taught us how to properly enjoy the whole experience of the cigar. Plenty of cigars to choose from. BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE! So happy we found this place visiting.

Was in town on a vacation and found this place. Not sure I can say anymore than the countless other amazing reviews on here, But just thought I’d throw Lior and this awesome business 5 stars. Lior is full of knowledge but it was his down to earth professionalism which made a less than experienced guy like me feel like I could find a cigar I would be happy with. I left with a great cigar, knowledge I had gained and a sense that there are still people in this world who are passionate about what they do and the people they serve. Hats off, keep up the great work and we’ll see you again.

I am a Wilmington native, and was visiting from Atlanta GA. I stopped by the shop to purchase a few cigars and received so much more. The own is great, he and I talked for an hour. This cigar shop is the place to be I cannot wait the get back there on my next visit.

RECENT FOLLOW UP: Lior had explained to me the parts of the cigar at the store and how to use it properly. When I got home, I could not recall what I was told. I just got off the phone with Lior, and he took the time to thoroughly explain it all to me again. What a great guy!!The past few days I have been in search of a cigar shop around Wilmington, and this is the only one you will ever need to go to. I previously read excellent reviews about the shop and the owner so I wanted to check this cigar shop out above the others in Wilmington. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted by the wonderful owner, to a VERY clean and organized store. I am pretty inexperienced when it comes to cigars and the owner, Lior, filled my brain with the do’s-and dont’s and basics. Lior, is an ABSOLUTE gem. The Cigar Exchange has an amazing business owner that cares about the customers coming in- whether they’re beginners like me or more advanced smokers. Lior was very knowledgeable, and even more welcoming. I couldn’t say enough great things regarding my first experience there. This is a beautiful shop you’d expect to find in NYC or another large metropolitan area. Can’t wait to return!

I came by Wilmington, North Carolina for a cigar. I picked up a Romeo Y Juliieta reserve. Lior was super helpful in picking up my cigar and giving me a cut. it’s really nice to find a place that cares for the cleanliness and the lighting of each box. There is a ton of cigar related memorabilia in here. There are framed Cigar Aficionado magazine covers. A definite place to recommend on a rainy day in North Carolina.

This place made me feel super uncomfortable. When I first walked in with my service dog in training I was told he couldn’t come in so I left the dog with my wife. After coming in I went straight to the humidor and showed the store worker my two cigars I brought just to show him this is what I have because I am being respectful. I know a lot of people steal cigars so I did that as a courtesy. After coming out I went over to the lighters to buy a nice lighter. He then said just to let you know as a cigar shop ethics not to bring my own cigars into a cigar shop. I then was offended. After serving overseas with the military for the past 3 years I did not expect to come home to this! I felt questioned about my ethics which I do not need. My anxiety and stress levels went up and I had to leave the store. There was no apology or anything. I was seriously looking for a cigar lounge because there are none around my military base. I will never go there again !!!

I was in Wilmington to attend a family funeral. I had some spare time and happened to walk around downtown by the waterfront. I was pleased to encounter a cigar room and even more pleased to meet the owner Lior.. He was a great host and assisted me in selecting an amazing flavored cigar. I even met a very personable and interesting business owner like myself and we chatted as if were were old friends. Im from Ohio and was in looking for a handful of sticks to enjoy on my vacation, and maybe a few local things I cant find anywhere else.Shop owner (I assume) was super friendly and knowledgeable, and guided me through the walk-in humidor to several sticks that are perfect for me. Prices are fair, and the customer service experience I had seriously cannot be beat.For enthusiasts and hardcore cigar lovers, or just a cigar every now and then, you really cant go wrong stopping here!

My first visit here and it was a great experience. I felt welcomed as soon as I walked in, great info and service. Its next to the Market St. parking deck, where the first hour of parking is free.

I have been going to Lior since this place opened. I had moved to Wilmington for college when he opened in 2001. Lior was the only shop that would show me everything and tell me the taste profiles. The man knows his cigars. I stopped back in this past weekend and we discussed his original set-up, the checker board he use to have set-up, even one of my favorite cigars that the company went under after 50 plus years. Lior knows his cigars, is always helpful, and just a great guy in general. Go here, talk to him, ask him questions about cigars, and you will not be disappointed. Best Cigar shop I have ever been too.

One of my favorite places to hang out when Im in downtown Wilmington. Great variety of quality cigars, some of which I havent been able to find anywhere else. The knowledge and helpfulness of the owner and his staff are much appreciated, as are the big chairs out front and inside. Good people, good times!

I don’t rate places often, but I felt the need to give this place the credit it deserved. The people working there made me feel very comfortable and I ended up buying an additional cigar just to keep the conversations going. We drove about 30 minutes out of our way on a 3 hour drive specifically to patronize the store. We would have gone 1 hour of the way. It was absolutely wonderful. Great variety and service.

I am a complete beginner and had absolutely no clue where to start as to what would be the perfect cigar for my taste. I asked Lior (Owner) if he could assist me with what kind of flavor I was looking for. I told him that I wanted something kind of mild and comparing it to a vanilla kind of taste. Stopped in for an overlooked travel essential while in town on business. The staff was quite helpful and articulate. I flew in from Dallas to receive my birthday cigars from my little sister. I did due diligence and decided that this was the place to come. Lior did not disappoint. This is the most friendly and helpful man you will ever meet. Cigar Exchange is truly an asset to historic downtown.

Descent collection of cigar stuff.I mean the lighters. I purchased a zippo and I would think there should be more collection of lighters.i was informed the zippo was fuelled and when i tried after reaching home, i noticed it is un fuelled. Also i did not get the bill invoice and again its my fault too as I missed to ask.

I went in with not a clue as to what my husband would like besides a mild cigar and Lior (the Owner) patiently offered multiple cigars at different price points. Went there with a buddy and the store manager was extremely disrespectful and abrasive. Wouldn’t go back there if someone paid me a $1 million.

Went in for butane, was told the large can was 10.99. He typed in 13.85 as the total, and when I questioned this, I was told it was actually 12.99. The total with tax came out to almost $15.

Was super excited to learn about the Cigar Exchange and this was my second trip to the shop. I feel like I should write this review and let others know about my experiance. My first trip resulted in cigar wrapper falling off cigar immediately as I left the shop by the ring. When I wnet back in to show the owner he could care less. Second trip the owner was to busy socializing to answer questions and offer recommendations. When asking a question was told these are the house rules and would not make a decision. Store is in a great part of town and could be a great place. I see other reviews and hope the owner takes my review to hart and pays attention to his customers.
