I called earlier to see if they had an LXT softball bat. The guy on the phone said no. I could tell he had no idea what I was talking about so came in to look for myself. They had one sitting right by the register. These folks didn’t even bother to say hello or see if I needed any help. I walked out. I was about to spend $400 on a 2022 LXT.

I just went into the Play it Again Sports in Wilmington NC to purchase a stationary exercise bike. I walked to the counter where you have 3 associates playing on the computer looking up bat prices. I stood at the counter for about 4 minutes and not one time did any of the 3 ask if they could help me. I finally spoke up and said this place has no customer service and then they wanted to help. Poor excuse for customer service in this location. I will go spend my money where it is welcomed. The owner should be ashamed at how this business is operated.I decided to give this location a 2nd chance and was amazed at the difference in customer service. I first spoke with the Assistant Manager and told him what I was looking for and he told me that he had a new in the box stationary bike that I was looking for. I called back a short time later and spoke to the Store Manage (Jim) and told him that I found the same bike at a big box store that was cheaper. He told me that he would do a price match so I told him that I would pick it up later in the afternoon. I arrived at 5pm and was greeted as I walked into the store. I ask to speak to Jim and he came out and showed me the bike. I purchased it and was thanked several times for coming back. A great ending to what started off as a bad experience. I would not hesitate to go back.

Wonderful people here. My wife went to find my daughter a softball glove and cleats. Now this is the first year our daughter will be playing sports and we know very little about softball. Corey is the associate that helped her and did a wonderful job in explaining the different gloves and fit. And they put the items on hold for us till the next day. Great prices too. We will definitely be coming back for all our sports needs.

Very nice staff, helpful, and so much to choose from!! the bikes were over priced for being used and they could clean the products up more if they want to resell at that high of a price. i bought flippers and handweights . the flippers were dirty and had sand all over them and the hand weights were really black with previous owners sweat and grime on them.. im sorry but clean your equipment up more if you are trying to resell for such a high price!!!

Some things here are really decent priced and some things they want too much for used stuff.

Have a great variety of things, but they go fast so call ahead to see if they have what your looking for and set it aside

Loved the prices and the large selection of sporting equipment. My boys found the exact things that they need for this baseball season. We already look forward to going back, as this was our first time at this play it again. The store was lacking in order cleanliness and organization, but that may be due to the mass inventory. We had to dig to find what we were looking for. Two employees were at the register for check out but they did not offer to help us with anything.

Always a pleasure shopping here! Grabbed some youth golf clubs for my son, no reason to buy new ones when hell need new ones next year, this is your go to place for that 👍

This is the place to go! The moment I walked in someone spoke to me and was ready to help. Evan was very knowledgeable of the elliptical I was looking to buy. He did not try to sell me the most expensive, but did explain the difference in the models. I got an opportunity to try it while he explained the features. I asked a few questions and without hesitation he answered. Very friendly and genuinely kind. I might add I just left Dicks Sporting Goods. As I left Dicks I told the girl at the register to inform her manager they lost a sale. There was nobody to be found for help. She said I can get someone and I said thats ok I have been here long enough. Evan wanted to sell me an elliptical and HE DID!!!

My experience was excellent. I checked around for Tee-ball items at sporting goods stores and Walmart and thought I would check this store out. It’s huge compared to what it looks like and they have both NEW and USED equipment at great prices. The staff was knowledgeable; I got the bat, glove, balls, and cleats! It was a one stop shop for me.

We found everything we were looking for here, and even a few things we hadnt expected to find! The prices are reasonable, which makes me very happy. They carry a large variety of sports gear (helmets, elbow/knee pads, shoes/cleats, gloves, chest protection etc...) bicycles, and weight room equiptment to chose from. Staff have always been friendly and helpful.

Its okay. I think some of the products are pretty over priced for being used. Staff is always super helpful and friendly.

I recently wanted to sell a junior set of golf clubs and a golf bag. I went to a pawn shop to see if they were interested in the set, but the store wasnt interested. So, then I think, Hey, that Play-It-Again store in town buys used golf clubs. Ill try them. I called the store to ask if they were interested junior golf clubs and a golf bag. The gentleman on the phone said they were interested. I drive to the store and show them the goods. One of the workers takes a look at it and wants to check the stock. He checks the stock and then comes back to me and says they have five sets and mine was too old and says they are not interested. What a crock.

Could have paid a little more for the stuff I sold them but overall seamless, easy experience.

A great place to sell any sports items to either have store credit, or a check paid to you. Also they work on a points value system so where are you going to earn money off of purchases.

Prices arent as low as you would expect for used equipment. Was in there specifically for golf related equipment. Ended up buying some golf pride grips brand-new which they did take a dollar off of each and bought some refurbished Titleist Pro VI golf balls

DONT BE SCREWED BY PLAY IT AGAIN SPORTS. Well to start off I called play it again sports, and I told them that I had some bikes water sports equipment and some gym equipment. I explained to them that I lived almost an hour away and that I didnt have the money to ride down there without knowing if they would buy from me . Too witch the man on the phone replied that they would buy any sports equipment, and that I should clean out my garage of sports equipment and head on down to his shop on south college in Wilmington. Once I arrived he walked out to meet me and look at what I had. He asked me to bring it all in once I did he preceded to tell me that he could only pay me for $10.00 my gazelle exercise machine with heart rate checker and two skim boards. Then he preceded to tell me that he could only take my wakeboard on consignment. Now the bikes are what got to me the most, I took 4 of them two cross-country bikes a Raleigh and a aerospace that when I bought them they were both bought for $600 and some change and thats not together, I also took a bmx freestyle ultra lite bike that was over $300 and a little girls standard huffy bike. The man preceded to tell me that his bike mechanic would not be in till the next day and he would not offer me anything for them till the mechanic had a chance to look over them. Sense I had already gone that far I had no other option but to sell the gazelle and the skim boards for the measly $10.00 they offered so that I could make it home. I was told that after the bike mechanic looked over the bikes that they would mail me a check so I wouldnt have to make the trip a second time. Well the next day I was called by the mechanic and told that they would pay $8.00 for the huffy $5.00 for the bmx and that he would take the 2 cross-country as donations and that he would fix them for his personal bikes that they were unrideable yet I rode both of them around there parking lot and then into there store, all the gears changed the tires had air in them and the brakes would stop u on a dime yet the mechanic said they were no good and he couldnt pay me for them but he would like to keep them for his self. I told him no deal and he said that they would hold them for 3 weeks till I had a chance to make it back to Wilmington, not even a week later I get a call from play it again sports and I was informed that if I didnt come back by Monday that they would take the bikes as a donation and give me $6.00 for store credit. Once I arrived I sow the same bmx freestyle ultra lite in front of there store for $200.00 were I was only offered $5.00 for mine, then I was told that a deal had been made on the bikes and I could not have them back, but after a heated conversation they gave the bikes back. So now Im wrighting this to inform all those who would like to try play it again sports DONT RUN AWAY ITS NOT WORTH THE BS all they want is to screw there customers and I will never have any business with them, and if u do your a fool.

Tried to sell hockey equipment twice and was told the first time to wait until November to bring it down to sell, well guess what its November and low and behold Im told no again. This place is a disaster and an epic failure!
