Everything here was delicious! We came twice within our stay in Wilmington because of how scrumptious the food is. I got the eggplant Parmesan and chicken Parmesan and boy were they delicious. I highly suggest getting a cannoli or tiramisu to finish off your meal. 10/10 would recommend!

Absolutely the best Eggplant Parmigiano around! Many thinly sliced layers, at least three inches thick, cooked to perfection, and nice and cheesy, the way it should be. Huge portions, I had double the amount pictured. Sauce is authentic and fresh. Outstanding service and wonderful selection of fresh food, made to order. Small Italian market too!

Best deli in town! Always friendly and hardworking staff, owners are great, too! The food, though…I could eat here everyday. Meat stuffed hoagies (I bet there’s over a quarter lb on a wedge), pasta dishes with the best sauce around, daily specials, bread that’s crispy on the outside! Lovely Italian cookies and other desserts. I’ve tried a bit of everything and it’s all fantastic! I’ve been a customer for many years and have never been disappointed.

The most authentic local Italian deli experience in Wilmington with sandwiches and entrees prepared to order. A small market sells Italian kitchen stables and there are prepared foods to buy. It is pricier than most other similar options, but youre getting a higher quality.

This was my first time here. The food is really good and the staff is very nice.

Sandwiches are large and delicious. Selection of dried pasta, fresh pasta, tomatoes and oils are great. Giardeniera was extremely flavorful and perfect accompaniment to the sandwiches. Of course had a mini cannoli to end the meal. Ate it before taking a picture.

Wow this place is a must visit! We went there yesterday for lunch and I had a plate of lasagna and it was fantastic. My wife had a sub sandwich and they freshly sliced the meat on it while we waited. Looking around the restaurant while we waited on our food was fun as they have a lot of different types of pasta and other ethnic foods for you to take home and prepare yourself. We also got a cannoli which was made fresh at the time of order. I attached a few pictures and my favorite was the lady stirring the giant pot of marinara sauce. I have driven by this place many times and had no idea how good it was. This is a true hidden gem!

A taste of Italy. Ha! I would propose this place be renamed A Taste of Chef Boyardee. The chicken parm was borderline inedible. Extremely soggy and the sauce was completely flavorless. Worst Italian I’ve ever had and expensive. 🤮

We were visiting family. Was looking for somewhere to have lunch. When I walked in the door. I could smell the aroma of Italian. I felt like I was in heaven. Had not been in an Italian delicatessen in years. My Love and I had the Italian sub that was to die for. We will be back on our next visit.

Waited a while for our pick up order and the pasta special was a little bland. But the sandwiches are stacked and delicious.

Wonderful folks behind the counter. So helpful. I got the shrimp scampi, needed some salt. Delicious other wise. Bob got the in house roasted beef and provalone. Huge sandwich. Good stuff!!!

Taste of Italy is always a great place to eat or get take out or ingredients to fix your own Italian meal! The staff is friendly and always willing to help with whatever you need to enjoy a delicious meal or serve a large group! Include the tiramisu for a fantastic treat; go on, you deserve it!!!

The employees were very friendly and knowledgeable about everything they have serve which made very easy to decide what we wanted to eat! Will be stopping by again soon!

Ordered the meatball roll. Had melted mozzarella on the top. The meatballs were large and meaty, not a lot of filler, mostly meat. The taste was not as unique or robust as desired. Still, a lot of sandwich for the cost.

We just enjoyed a delicious chicken parm, spaghetti and salad take out dinner. Absolutely wonderful!

I’m from Chicago and I wish you would quit calling your beef Chicago style Italian beef. First of all your price for a small container half filled with cheap onions is outrageous. Secondly, we don’t put onions in our beef. We put green and or red peppers. We also always include Au jus. Obviously, you have never had Chicago Italian beef.

Taylor Ham egg and cheese on a wedge. Ask for the meat to be well done.. best breakfast sandwich around, and grill stays on til 6pm during the week

I lived in Wilmington for 12 years before moving to Raleigh and loved this place. Now anytime we take a trip to the beach we make sure we stop by Taste of Italy on our way out of town to stock up on delicious homemade raviolis, Italian bread, cannolis.

I got the fresh mozzarella and peppers sandwich on their loaf and added sopressata (spicy not sweet, don’t worry it’s not spicy more savory). So good! The chicken parmigiana without the pasta or bread is my jam as well. Service is so on point here.

Love the service and selection. Great variety of beautiful Italian foods and ingredients.

Let me tell you...I am raised Calabrese and the food, cold cuts, especially the eggplant, chicken parm and antipasto are just like my mothers! The heavy is so good I could drink it and not get agita! I love in North Topsail beach and I drive past all of the other Italian restaurants to get to this one an hour away! The ONLY real Italian restaurant on the coast! They even have the true provolone that will knock your socks off! I have family coming in from Europe, we love eggplant and chicken parm, no need to slave over the stove, making the trip to get my favorites! No one paid me to write this, I just cant get over how good their food is!...I just hope and pray that the owners will branch out my way one day to make life easier!

The Best place for authentic Italian food, just like home. Awesome place for dinning with family and or friends. Every single dish here is super plus you can buy pasta,sauces, sausages, homemade mozzarella cheese balls Etc. Highly recommended.

We just moved here and my husband goes to this place to get there homemade sesame seed bread. The bread is amazing, the ham is freshly sliced and the provolone is hands down one of the best things I’ve ever eaten! This is the kind of place you get hooked on and can’t stop coming back to. He also brought home a moist, delicious pistachio crumb cake that was reasonably priced and to die for. I can’t say enough good things about this establishment and will be a lifelong patron.

The only difficulty encountered at ATOT is trying to decide on only one menu item! I never have had anything less than superbly genuine Italian food. Not Italian style but Italian! Generous servings, great staff

Authentic Italian food with a beautiful smell inside the building like my Nonnas kitchen. Large portions and wonderful flavors. There is also a little grocery section where you can buy pastas and canned tomatoes with seating and bathrooms available.

All this talk about taste of Italys being good caused me to lose $55.00.Tried a Philly cheese steak 👎went on another occasion to try the lasagna 👎 both were horrible, the lasagna is super bland, so was the Philly ... Cornerstone in porters neck is where the lasagna is good but I thought since I was near this restaurant Id try it there .

Its okay but Im not a fan of all the cheese I got on my plate.

The only place in NC that you can get the true very sharp provolone. The best Cannoli south of Genos in the Bronx. Great selection of deli meats and a very good Sunday Gravy. Very nice selection of pasta. Love the accommodations set up to deal with Covid 19. Great Job!!!

Many, many times I have been to A Taste of Italy to have amazing deli sandwiches, a cheesesteak or an incredible chicken parm. sandwich...but today is the day that this review focuses on a hidden, off-menu sandwich that blew my tastebuds away.FOOD: Muffuletta Sandwich on a Poppy Seed Roll: To begin, the Muffuletta originated from Italian migrants in New Orleans, LA. It includes Salami, Capicola & Mortadella meats, provolone & mozzarella cheeses, olive oil & a fresh, blended olive tapenade. Although TOI doesnt offer this specific sandwich on the menu, the staff was accomodating & eager to take on the challenge. Glad they did, too! Each bite was packed full of deli meats, generous slices of fresh cheeses. It is savory, semi-spicy & semi-sweet, altogether. There are so many flavors & tones dancing throughout your mouth...youll yearn for the next bite. The only areas of opportunity & recommendations I have about this sandwich, is that it should be a full-menu option for everyone to enjoy & that I would have preferred the sandwich on Italian bread, rather than Poppy Seed bread. But when TOI is THAT good, they ran out of Italian rolls by 5 pm! But, thats about it. SCORE: 4.8 STARS!!SERVICE: Family-owned, super friendly & very efficient. This is an absolute great place to eat and I love one of my best sandwiches that I get from there I tell him to make it Mikes way thats the way I came up with pepperoni with blackened chicken mozzarella whats a little mayo its a bomb sandwich but anything these people make is the best on the market youll find this and high end restaurants this is the place to eat and buy Goods everything is 100%

The atmosphere here is wonderful. Your food is FRESH. The staff is quick and efficient. I even heard them greet a regular by name & already knew his order.

Awesome place I have absolutely no complaints. They always take good care of me and the food is phenomenal. I always bring people who havent eaten there and they always go back. I cant tell you how many times Ive been here since I first moved to Wilmington 5 years ago.

My family of five loves TOI! (Kid approved!) Now that school is virtual and my time is spent facilitating art class on the iPad instead of preparing dinner, we will be ordering pick up frequently. I feel safe going inside with my kids, since everyone is always wearing a mask. They will also meet me outside at my car when needed. Our favs are chicken parm, ravioli and the (huge) meatballs.

I went for a breakfast sandwich and as I was waiting I notice the guy in the back was cooking shrimp on the griddle next to the eggs, bacon and sausage God only knows what else he could have been cooking on there ..wasnt pleased seeing that and walked out..they lost my business for good..Long Island Eatery from now on

They have a very friendly and helpful staff. They have a great variety of Italian dishes, salads, and deserts. Today, there was a steady stream of customers. We bought some eggplant 🍆 Parmigiano and fresh rolls.

Always good, except this time I got the meatballs....BIG MISTAKE. It seriously reminded me of dog food. I had to chug soda after or I would have actually puked...I wont ever get their MEATBALLS again.

Nice selection of take home dinners and hot delicatessen. The mortadella was fabulous. The cheesecake was so creamy and delicious 😋! I just wish they had Italian breads.

We have been here many times and absolutely love the people and the food. This past Tuesday 5/19/20 we watched as our food and other orders were being prepared. Not one of the workers, absolutely no one had masks, gloves and could not keep social distancing. There was a person acting as a monitor directing customers where to go if you had sent in a take out order, or if you were a walk in and had to order. Nothing was on the floor to show customers where to stand to keep the social distancing. My wife and I were the only patrons with masks on. Until the end of this virus, or better safety measures are taken, we will not go back here, sadly.

Our go to spot for lunch and breakfast. Great service and great food. Its always consistent and the sandwiches are piled high with the good stuff!

I absolutely love this place but today I was highly disappointed. I ordered a club sandwich, and got a ham sandwich. To me a club has ham,turkey, roast beef on it. I watched a girl working there make 1 last time I was there that why I wanted it. I cant i was stuck eating a damn ham sandwich.

I just had a knee replacement. Friends have been sending dinners. Tonight one of my friends stopped by a Taste of Italy. WOW!!! It was absolutely amazing. Huge meatballs, delicious spaghetti, salad, and Italian cookies. It was todie for. I hadn’t been eating well but I couldn’t get enough of this. My husband and I are looking forward to becoming customers now. We will be back

Great Italian Deli!We have been twice so far. Once for sandwiches and once for takeout dinners. Food was delicious and you get plenty.Staff was delightful to deal with! ( I had lost my voice )Plus, they helped me to my car with my purchases in the rainy cold. So sweet!Plus, if you grew up in the North this is one of the few places you can buy specialty products you grew up with!

It’s a deli and restaurant you can eat in or take out it’s the most delicious authentic Italian food. Have you ever been to an Italian buffet? This place is amazing the staff is very friendly and professional meaning fast. This is a diamond in the rough, if you haven’t been to taste of Italy you need to go!

Great little deli with the most delicious food ever! Their Parms, subs and salads and pasta dishes are unbelievable. We have used them several times to cater events at our house and they NEVER disappoint! We usually pick up the order and they always have everything packaged nicely for easy transport. Great little place!

Absolutely the best Italian food in Wilmington! We like to buy ingredients there in order to make our own Italian recipes at home. Our daughter also really enjoys stopping by to pick up stuffed shells or baked ziti, made by the great folks at A Taste of Italy. They always provide great service with a smile! Love it!!! 🙂

Nice hot bar selection including pasta and sandwiches, along with a deli section with salads. I also enjoy the market portion where I frequently get my pastas from. Highly recommend if you are looking for a spot to grab a delicious lunch or to pick up pasta to cook at home.

The food is amazing and that earns the 5 stars! Every time no issues. The only issue we have ever had, and I think this is because of Covid, but the customer service is a little awkward. We got the chicken parmesan last time and I could not be happier with that meal. YUMM

This is the best place to get authentic italian sandwiches and dishes. My favorite are chicken parmesan on a roll or hero. My other alternative is meatball parmesan.You just gotta go here and get a taste of it yourself. Believe me its worth it.

TOI never disappoints. Food is always fresh and delicious. As NYers this is our go to breakfast and lunch sandwich place!! Their mac salad and antipasto is amazing and we always get extra to have for a few meals!! A must try.
