Visited Truckers Toy Store on Monday, Dec. 9, 2019 at 2:30 PM to have a U-Haul trailer module checked out due to non-functional trailer lighting. I had rung out the electrical system with Fluke-189 and found low voltage on two circuits with normal voltage on LH only. They charge $50.00 for hooking up a diagnostic meter (simple voltage indicator with LEDs) to tell me the same thing I knew. Same conclusion - faulty module. I let the tech install a universal module - trailer lighting was resolved however after a short drive my fully instrumented vehicle (beyond GM factory OEM) indicated high current transient. Really!? Never occurred before! Upon checking B+wire to trailer module found an extra long (25 inches extra) wire length from 12 volt supply at rear of vehicle to new trailer lighting module. The crimp connector just happened to be exactly tangent to exhaust tail pipe such that surface temperature at contact point melted crimp connector insulating, electrically arcing to tail pipe metal. Late Monday night I had to cut away the TWO crimp connectors, remove the extra 25-inch wire length replacing 34 inch wire with the original 9 inch wire length. I will let each reader think about this scenario. Was this an accidental oversight? IMO the answer is no. My scientific, engineering, and physics mind tells me this may have not been accidental oversight. Crimp connector lying exactly tangent to contact bend at exhaust tail pipe? Everyone should remember that any service to any vehicle can be rigged to create issues and costly returns that otherwise may never occur. This is just one example why Mark Mitchell always services all items owned. This service by Truckers Toy Store is the first exception I have made since 2012 and my own safety system caught the trick. My experience with car dealer situations have been magnitudes worse than this so I never return any car to any dealer for service.
Had a tonneau cover installed, friendly staff, very knowledgeable and helpful.
Been dealing with store for a long time. The staff is always knowledgeable & helpful in tricking out your vehicle. Drove from Greenville to order equip for my wifes new vehicle.
Great customer service.
I called this business and I scheduled to get all my tint removed for a certain price and when I finally got my car back I was charged 150 dollars more than what they told me. Then on top of all that, they did a horrible job at removing all the glue. I’m in Raleigh now getting a another shop to finish doing what this business should’ve done. If you wanna get tint put on or removed here, trust me go somewhere else. The total price to remove my tint was 268 and they told me 150 plus tax. You can get places in Raleigh, or anywhere for that matter, to get tint taken off much cheaper around 175 on the high end. I was very upset with this business.
Clean, has everything you need to upgrade your truck and the staff is awesome. Had to bring my truck back in because the cover they installed is still leaking but I will add a star once they remediate the problem.
Always a great place to go for any truck work or add on.
This store was recommended to me by another local Wilson business, so I stopped in to talk with them about pickup truck camper caps and bed liners. The folks were friendly and very easy to work with. They took their time and walked me through all the levels of camper tops and options. Their concern was that I got the cap that was a good fit for what I needed to do. Nicely done - thanks - and will be back again.
These folks dont deserve ANY stars at all (posting makes you select at least 1) We had our sons truck lifted there. The lift was installed IMPROPERLY. We found this out months later when the transmission went out due to the poor installation. A Toyota dealership verified this. Truckers Toy Store took no responsibility in the repair which costed us around $10k from the Toyota dealership. The whole drive train had to be replaced. Several phone calls were made to them, yet they took no ownership in this situation. They also installed a tool box on the same truck, which came loose and cracked the back window.
These folks are amazing!!! They far exceeded my expectations on my 2018 z71 Suburban build with 6in lift, tires/rims and amp search steps plus other stuff. They kept me informed and had truck ready when said. They take pride in their work and wouldn’t trust my vehicles with anyone else!!!
Fast friendly service. Ordered a motorcycle carrier for my 2015 F-150. They beat the competitors price (amazon) by almost 20%. The shipping was super fast too, 2 days for a 100+ pound carrier. Im extremely impressed with Truckers Toy Store, I recommend you stop in for your next truck accessory purchase!- Extremely happy customer
Had a new bed liner installed on my Chevy and they did a very professional job, looks great! Very nice folks and very reasonable prices too!Shop local y’all, you’ll be glad ya did here.
These guys know what they are doing. Fast, friendly and affordable, plus they go the extra mile to make sure your happy with purchase. Will deffinetly be back. Thanks guys
I went up there to get a decal done. The man that helped me was very fast and didnt ask many questions on how I wanted it. He wrote down everything that I wanted and told me that it would be done the next day. I got off of work and went straight up there, come to find out nothing was done. I told the lady at the front desk my name and everything, she came back with a decal that wasnt mine. Not the right color or letters or anything. I go on to tell her that it isnt mine, she gets a attitude and says that the paper says it is. Another girl from the back comes out to help because the other girl has got a attitude just because I said it wasnt mine. Anyways, it hadnt been done when he told me it would. The girl was very disrespectful and they dont keep up with anything. Never going back there again!
Great job done on our 2006 Toyota tundra new lights, new rear shocks, new step-up running boards. Great service, first class operation.Bob G
Terrible customer service & unethical business practices are a few key issues to say the least. In late November 2015, I brought my vehicle to this location to have my car “re-tinted” in order to pass inspection for 2016. I was charged over $400 the first time to have my car tint stripped and re-tinted “all the way around” with legal tint including the rear windshield. Fast forward to November 2016, my car fails inspection due to 15% “illegal tint” on the back windshield. This is the same tint that was “purchased” just under a year ago from Trucker’s Toy Store so I could avoid this very issue.I drove to Trucker’s Toy store and spoke with an associate, who immediately checked and his tint meter read “20-21%” for the back windshield, but the car was in direct sunlight. He immediately stated, “we do not sell illegal tint, so that can’t be ours”, but after showing him the receipt indicating the tint was done at this store, he “checked and says: “it appears the original tint was never stripped since the defrost lines are intact; as when tint is stripped, you lose defrost lines & there’s no indication of that here”. So if I paid over $400 for a complete tint-service to be done, I would expect in good faith that it was done. The associate stated that the “one tint specialist guy” who does window tinting couldn’t have made any mistakes such as putting on the wrong tint on my back window. This business location has a very terrible and inefficient method of record keeping/documentation, because the associate could only find my information from an old calendar/memo book that had handwritten appointments in them, from a drawer in their back room. Although he found I had an appointment and the vehicle I had, he stated there was “no documentation as to what was done that day”, other than my appointment and car info. In addition, he stated at the time, there was only “one person” who knew how to and was conducting all window tinting for customer cars, but he was unavailable. He stated he could set me up for a future appointment to have the one person who does tint, look at the back windshield to confirm maybe he applied the wrong tint, but because he’s worked with several cars, he wouldn’t remember what happened since the re-tinting was done in November 2015.Fast forward, I received a call/voicemail about 5 days later, stating that miraculously, the person that tinted my car somehow “remembers me” and that I had “requested to not have the back window re-tinted due to the chance to losing defrost lines in the back window and to have it retinted, would be $225+”. That’s ridiculous and 100% inaccurate, considering that was the whole reason I was there in the first place and paid to have the service done, that included re-tinting the back window to have legal tint to PASS INSPECTION. North Carolina is very strict on tint as of late.Furthermore, if a customer does “reject” a service as such before working on the car, why would you still charge that person $260+ on the receipt just for the back window stripping/re-tinting, as stating this was done? Why would a customer knowingly “pay” for a service they did not want done to begin with?I cannot afford to “repay” for a mistake done by them, but was charged anyway for. If they dropped the ball once already, why would I trust them to not do the same again. Even with a receipt indicating clear documentation of a service that I paid for that was not done properly, this place will still deny any wrong doing. As a result of the voicemail and the previous responses/actions, I feel theyve failed to uphold & maintain the integrity they represent. I will be sure, to steer clear of this company in Wilson or any affiliates of Trucker Toy Store, going forward in the future. Any family/friends/ and car forums Im actively on, etc., I will recommend they steer clear of this place and find another location to have their window tinting, in fact, any service/product done from this location. To any prospecting customers, save your time and money by looking else where.
Mike Pearson at Wilson store just applied window tint for the eighth time on my vehicles - this time on my Infiniti Q60. As usual, excellent workmanship and immaculate clean-up. Never a problem and windows look great. Thanks Mike.
Great service! Mike has always delivered quality craftsmanship with a professional attitude.
Great job. I took my 2008 Tahoe to Truckers Toy Store and was going to get a leveling kit put on. They found some broken and missing parts and they showed me the items before anything was done. We talked and I opted for a 4 inch lift and the Tahoe now looks and rides better than before.
Custom parts to upgrade your truck. A.R.E. bed covers, bed carpet, chrome steps, lights, wenches, and towing equipment are a few of the products they carry. Great service and knowledgeable staff. They can special order also.
Love this place! Guys are very helpful! Love what they have done on my jeep...a work in progress!!!
This is the only place I trust to work on my truck. They do everything professional and they are really nice to do business with. Definetly going back soon!
Went in last week looking for a nerf bar step for my Chevy Trailblazer. The folks were very professional & knowledgeable about their product. So I ordered the bars along with some Weathertech floor covers. They scheduled an appointment for me for today at 2:00pm. I called today (since all of the snow) to verify that they were even open. The young lady called me back & said come on in early (I live about an hour away). So I showed up early & was met at the front door by the installer. Less than an hour later, I was leaving. Great job guys. Thanks, Ill be back.Jeff Hudgins
Bought a great bed cover for my new truck. Decent price but lacks customer service .They installed it fast but never showed me how it opens.
This place is terrible!! Do not take your vehicle there. You’ve been warned
Excellent folks to work with and prices are very reasonable. Mike P (MGR), Mike M and Justin are very easy to work with. They installed a BlueOx baseplate and tow point accessories on my 2014 F-150 Crew Cab as well as a Patriot Brake unit for 4 down towing behind our motorhome. Excellent work and quality products. Today I had them install RoadMaster front and rear sway bars along with a Reflex Steering stabilizer. Justin and Mike M did quality work with an excellent turnaround time of under 4 hours end to end. Highly recommend these folks.
People are nise and knowledgeable on all products and brands I would recommend too anyone who has a TRUCK to go there even a car.ask for Mike the bald headed guy l.o.l. or anyone on their staff they are all great people.
I had these guys order me a set of wheels and tires for my 2016 Tacoma . Less than a week had tires and wheels in and on my truck !! Can not say enough about this business!! GREAT PEOPLE, GREAT SERVICE AND GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE !! Have been doing buisness with them for years !! And WILL CONTINUE !! THANKS TRUCKERS TOY STORE !!
Real good like the there handle business very professional?
Great place to have work done, friendly, honest and you are treated like family.
Had a 9:00AM appointment to get windows tinted two hours later still waiting havent even started on truck went to front desk and asked for keys to my truck and I left.
Never going again! I called Dec 1st, to get a quote on window tinting. Dec 16th, I stopped in for the gift card and paid the same price I was quoted. Jan 16th my relative shows up to get the work done and was charged $60 MORE than what I had paid for the service already! Attendant was NOT customer friendly and quite arrogant. When I asked why the dollar amount was different, he claimed they went up on the price Dec 1st and maybe the person didnt tell me......really, even though they had a chance to when I showed up to make my purchase??!!!DISHONEST CLOWNS! I WILL NOT BE RECOMMENDING ANYONE TO DO ANYTHING BUT STEER CLEAR OF THEM!!
I was told a price with taxes out the door. Then when the work was done, was told $100.00 MORE!!! Because it took them LONGER!!! Thats NOT the way you do business!!!
Customer service was excellent, but BEWARE WHEN YOU BRING THE RENTAL TRUCK BACK. THEY WILL TRY TO FALSELY CHARGE YOU. MAKE SURE YOU KEEP YOUR GAS PAPER THAT IS MARKED FOR GAS RETURN.
Awesome place to buy accessories for your truck
