I like getting parts and ordering thing for my boat here they are always knowledgeable and quick and courteous.

Jimmy and Amanda are always looking to satisfy me as a customer. Their estimates have been spot on and if they go over, I always get a call or if weve agreed in advance to do what it takes I always get a good explanation for what was different. Jimmy has helped coordinate getting a custom made ski bar for my boat, helped with maintenance questions and generally been an all around pleasure to work with. Ive found them very helpful on parts and service; Im not sure why the other reviewer found them clueless.

BEWARE! BEWARE! BEWARE! Make sure you get an estimate in writing because Jimmy Silverthorn’s word is NO GOOD. Took our boat here this summer. We were told a two week turn around, this sounded good to us since we had a week long trip planned at the coast three weeks later. We rode past the shop the first week and our boat never moved from the spot they had originally parked it at. During week two we saw the boat had moved and returned back to the yard and when my husband called they told him they had performed “some” work on it (the mechanic had performed a rebuild on all 4 carburetors on the outboard but that wasn’t the problem so they charged us to put it back together without being fixed, then charged us later on to open it back up and put it back together a 2nd time) they told us they would try to get it back in the shop that week. At 2 1/2 weeks we still had heard nothing from S&S Marine my husband called again because the boat had never been back in the shop and he was informed by Jimmy that they were too busy to work on our boat. After reminding him of the two week turn around he had promised us Jimmy got very rude with us and told us that he would rather lose us as customers than lose 20 others that also had their boats in the shop. Jimmy told us to fix it would cost $1500 because it was a broken reed valve. At 3 weeks of our boat being there Jimmy’s daughter called my husband and said it had been repaired and the bill was $2100. Diagnosis - no broken reed valves, only bad intake gaskets. Charged us 18 hours of labor plus parts plus an hour to water test the outboard that was supposedly fixed. Jimmy admitted he overcharged us because we bothered him about sticking to the deadline he had agreed to. When we went to pick up our boat Jimmy conveniently got in his Jeep and left ... his daughter was left to try and explain the excessive charges. We asked his daughter to call him so we could speak with him but when she called him he refused to talk to us. He cowardly hid behind his own 19 year old daughter. While we were there another gentleman came up to us and told us Jimmy had done the same thing to him. He had been promised a time frame and given an estimate then he was told it wasn’t ready and it was going to be way more than what he had originally said. When we left we saw multiple boats pulled up to the garage bay so apparently they charge you to work on other peoples boats too. The clock still ticks apparently when they go home to sleep too. NEVER GO HERE unless you want them to steal your money and have a business owner disrespect you and your spouse. Cannot believe he treats customers like this. Take your boat somewhere closer to the coast.

Great for buying parts at a good price and fast delivery but the staff itself seems fairly clueless while talking to them.
