I have paid a few visits to Sax Alley since I moved to the Denver area a couple of years ago, and I cant imagine any saxophone pro shop could offer much more than Tim and his staff consistently deliver. Sax Alley can be counted on to provide kind and professional service and guidance to anyone purchasing a new or pre-owned saxophone, and Tims attention to detail and consideration of his clients needs on the service side of the operation are second to none. My 15-year-old Keilwerth tenor plays better than new after a proper disassembly, cleaning, and new setup by Tim (this after I had fallen out of love with the horn over the last decade following service by less skilled techs). Now I wont trust my horns to anyone other than Tim Glesmann if I dont need to.

I stopped into Sax Alley in search of an alto sax. I am so glad I did. I had been looking online for a sax, but the service I got at Sax Alley was beyond expectation. I was able to discuss my needs, see and touch the saxophones Tim was describing. Tim was fantastic. I got more out of a 15 minute visit than i have out of over 10 hours of online reading and searching. In fact, you just cant get service and info anywhere near this valuable online. I agree with others. This is THE place to go in Northern Colorado.

I was very surprised to find this great little resource outside of a major metropolitan area, but dont let the location dissuade you. Its worth a visit.The owner and staff at Sax Alley are very professional and easy going. I have had work done on my pro / vintage horns here and even had a bent body tube straightened out without a lot of fuss or cost. I felt their advised repairs and/or adjustments were warranted and definitely improved the response of my horns. They were also able to make my daughters aging, student-level Yamaha play like a million bucks for a very modest investment. This was a far better option than the rent-to-own shiny new music store model that has not been adjusted or maintained.They also have a great revolving selection of cool new and vintage saxes, woodwinds and all the accessories. I felt their prices were very fair, even when compared to the no-service internet world. Its refreshing to still see a brick & mortar storefront doing a great business! Thank you!

I cant recommend Sax Alley enough. I have bought numerous boxes of reeds, mouthpieces, had many small repairs, and a full mechanical restoration of my alto. I have never been disappointed. Tim Glesmann truly cares about his clients and his service is impeccable. Whether you need reeds, an ear to listen when trying mouthpieces, or a full overhaul this is the place to go!

Wow what a great experience, told the owner what was going on with my older sax, he showed me what was going on advised me on cost for said repairs, I ask what a new sax cost I was amazed by the cost decided to by a new sax, so Ill be picking up the new sax on Saturday morning, and I will report on the new professional sax later.

If you play a saxophone this is the only place to go for new and used horns and accessories. Tim (the owner) is amazing.

Tim worked his magic on my Selmer SA80ii and it plays better than new! It was in need of some repads, corks and other love tweaks and he did a fantastic job.

These folks are awesome! I personally know very little about saxophones, but 2 years ago my daughter was getting serious about playing her alto sax. She needed a nicer sax and we were referred to Sax Alley by other parents. The shop is located in an industrial-looking area (thus the name sax alley I presume), but it is clean and welcoming inside. There was quite an impressive selection of new and used saxophones. We were helped by a younger woman (cant recall her name) who was very helpful and knowledgeable. My daughter tried out quite a few saxophones. We never felt rushed. In fact, she took quite a while to decide. Meanwhile, her younger sister and I relaxed on a couch in the shop and enjoyed some chocolates. (Nice touch.) She ended up liking a used P. Mauriat PMXA-67R. The price was several hundred less than new online prices I found. They wouldnt let us take it right away, since they wanted to clean it up and make sure it was perfectly adjusted (or whatever.) Since we are from out of town (Casper, WY) they shipped it to us a couple of days later. My daughter LOVES her saxophone, and is currently playing lead alto in her high school jazz band. Last week, she left it in the band room and somehow it got damaged and wouldnt play correctly (some kids screwing around fell on it maybe?!). We didnt want to trust anybody locally, and send it down to sax alley. Long story short, they shipped it back today and its good as new. Were thrilled again! Definitely recommend these folks! If you need a saxophone or need your sax repaired or tuned up, this is the place!
