Store has good inventory. Help is very nice but isn’t super productive. If you know how to use the app you will get questions answered quickly.Checkouts are horrendous. Don’t plan on getting in and out of here in less than 20 minutes on a good day. Checkers are slow, and there’s usually only 2-4 when 13 stations are available. This store NEEDS to add self check outs, especially for the contractors that are here several times a day and are billing hourly to stand in line. Very frustrating.
We ordered on line, 1/3 of the items were missing 2xs. They say look it over, can’t get your money back., maybe they should be double checking what they put in the box. Went into store, bought paint for basement with the chips you sprinkle on top, interesting enough, the bag with the sprinkles was duct taped close, paint mix had been opened and Menards still put it back in the box and on the shelf for others to buy. Tells me they don’t bother checking returns before putting anything back on shelf. Quite the place, If you complain they do nothing to resolve the problem.If Home Depot was in Winona there’d be no Menards…

They need two checkouts. Have you ever thought of the people that are handicapped. Even seniors. You purchase an item or two on one side of the store and you have to walk a block to get checked out. No consideration! Think about it.
Everything I asked where it was in the Same place. Over there. Couldnt find any one at one Department. So I called while in the Store. But Hailey at Check out was Amazing. She Sanitized after every customer. Walmart is Nasty and does not. Manners & Courtesy does not cost a thing.

Went in to buy some building materials for our church parsonage. The cashier said our tax exempt number was expired and we had to go to the front of the store, to reapply thru the kiosk. What a joke, no one to help, with any questions, or help with the kiosk . Ended up paying the tax.

I was at this store August 12 to buy generators for a linemen friend of mine and his almost 80 yr old parents. This was 2 days after the massive derecho storm that hit my hometown Marion, IA. I bought the only 2 generators they had, a brute generator in its box and a brute generator that I was told was there display model. It was about a 900 dollar purchase. I was in a hurry to get these to them so I didnt bother to check the display one over, after all it was Menards a company I have frequently been to over the last 25 plus years and very very rarely had any issues. We got the generators to his parents and the one in the packaging worked fine but the display model would not start. When it was unloaded out of the vehicle we noticed rust on the side of it and little gasoline actually spilled out off it which was a red flag but at this point there was no choice but to add fuel and try and start it. This of course was going to be there 2nd night without power. On Friday the 14 of August I went back to the store and after talking to a few employees I got to talk to the store manager and he told me that there couldnt have been fuel in it and didnt have an answer for the rust on the side of it. All he would do was waste some time on a computer and tell me that they dont take them back after fuel is placed into the machine. He told me I would have to take it to a repair store. Alot of good that was doing for my buddy who was working 18 to 20 hrs a day trying to restore power to hundreds of thousands of people who were without power for now 4 days. Couldnt be more disappointed in a company I had grown to rely on for decades. Would really like to her back from there corporate office and see how they feel about this situation. If u take a look at the picture I attached with this post u can see the rust on the generator. This machine had obviously been outside and run for an extended period of time before it was sold to me. Really felt like Menards should have stepped up as a large corporation and taken care of these folks instead of putting this on these people who r already going through a great deal.

Wanted to let the world know that if your mask breaks while in check out line while at menards be prepared to be completely harassed by horribly bossy and people that feel its theyre job to breath down others backs and boss them around. They lost my business forever. Good day to the horrible lady that took in upon herself to approach, attach and harass me while bringing them business. Wont happen again

Generally love Menards, but yesterday I was about to purchase a dryer..and have purchased them since they came to Winona...as I was about to place my order ( over $600.00) the sales person said they dont take old appliances and now only deliver to the driveway... I said I need it delivered it to my utility room and they said cant happen now ....so didnt order my dryer...Wonder how many more appliance orders they missed because of this reasin?????
There was social distance throughout the store. Easy finding what we needed. Staff asked if we needed any help with our purchases. That was appreciated.
The fear of the Covid-19 has gone beyond ridiculous. Because the experts are wrong & science IS FALLIBLE. According to expert analysis, we should suit up in Hazmat gear w/ breathing apparatuses in order to be SAFE from the virus. Bacteria IS small enough to enter the body through the pores of skin. Our ears can also pick up & carry bacteria/germs into the middle ear cavity (from the throat) causing middle ear infection and other sickness. And OSMOSIS in many forms. Dermal absorption: soaking up water, chemicals And germs. Anyhow, after all the brain surgeries and breathing difficulty... thank you for refusing to let me shop just because I cant wear a mask that covers only my nose and mouth.... makes NO sense. And has no logic or FACTS.

Julie the general manager was the rudest most unprofessional employee I have ever encountered!! She had no concern for customers and only cares for her power driven ego. Definitely won’t return!! This was the worst customer service I have ever experienced, and I was just at a wal-Mart!

Standard Menards but the lumber yard employees dont help out much if you ask where they store a particular piece of lumber. Otherwise clean and a nice looking store.
A really great place to shop if you are an architect, contractor or Builder or simply do your own home improvements. Prices are affordable for this area Market. Staff are very friendly and professional. Has a very large parking lot with numerous handicap accessible parking.

Like any store customers move items around and you might grab an item thats out of place and be misled. Also listen carefully to the rebates the price advertised is AFTER the rebate. Menards has great deals, and very well priced items. The best part is ask for a carryout at the registers. Its free and theyre happy to help, but may be busy so just wait for them by the exit and they will be there asap!
Rebate? Think about any storewide rebate...a price scam...depends on customer not applying...if all applied, discounts would suddenly reappear on each item. Use you head. Do not be lazy. Save receipts, even if not needed. Ask questions.
I dont think its possible to get someone to help you at this store. They see you and run away from you.

Piss poor service
My husband and I frequent the Menards store. Recently we were there purchasing some wood stain and other things and we made an oops because it fell out of our cart. The employees were wonderful. They were quick to help, cleaned it up like a boss and even replaced our can of stain. Very impressed by the staff. Thank you!!

People are for the most part nice, know where to find almost anything. I dont necessarily care for their rebate system. I choose to spend my $ there. Yet the rebate I receive dictates to me that I MUST spend my money back ib to their pockets. So I will try my best to find the same product elseware. Even if it does cost a bit more. I would like to spend MY hard earned $$ where I see fit. &Not b told where I MUST spend it. As a matter of fact, I would probably go to and spend more if I could just get a rebate amount that lets me decide where and what I want to spend it.Other than that issue this Menards is great!
Seriously I have had better experiences at Menards! My boyfriend and I were trying to find a new microwave and the staff was completely unhelpful! The guy at the counter ignored us for 5 minutes before we asked where the other over the range microwaves were. We were directly behind his counter and he turned once and ignored us!!! He told us they were in the reconstruction area and that was it. He did not take us show the microwaves and No offer of any other help. We had to go and find him again to answer our questions. Checking out was horrible too. The lady didn’t ask for a rebate and when I said “hey I have a rebate” she told me that she already put the transaction through and that I would have to go to the returns counter to use it now... we just literally handed her the cash!!! Usually a great place to go and friendly people but today it seemed like the staff did not care.

Ive always loved this Menards! Theyre always stocked with what you need! Maybe they could keep track of holidays a little better though 😉 last I checked Christmas comes after Halloween!
Even with all the precautions over the virus going on the people at Menards were still very helpful to us when we were unsure about some of the products.
I purchased a 30 ton Forest King wood splitter with electric start on Black Friday for $799.00. My son and I assembled it with the easy to follow instructions. Everything went very smooth with no hiccups. Im very impressed with it and it was 50% off. I would recommend this one to anyone even at regular price.

Bought a type c to hdmi cable. It was the lowest price in town. Review update. I bought some LED light bulbs and picked up the wrong ones ( day light vs soft white) I could not find the receipt but I did not think it would be a problem. They were the same price, same mfg, same packaging but they would not exchange them! I could see that if I wanted cash back but I didnt.
Picked up loctite. Fishing pole is fixed and ready to go. Life is good!

Overall I have had good experiences at Menards. I do recommend customers watch to make certain that the product they buy if a restoked item that all parts are there. I just picked up an air conditioning unit and it was missing foam sealss and screws.

Be careful with Menards pricing. This past weekend I went to Menards to purchase a swing set/play yard for my grandchildren. The price posted on the model I choose said 681.00. I asked for help with purchasing this play yard. When a gentleman came over to help, he said that the play yard price was really 771.00 that it had a base price then you add the slide, swings etc. bringing the total up to 771.00 they you get the 11% rebate bringing the price back down to something like 685.00. I pointed out that the sign said “Everything included to complete set shown” and that the store was offering an 11% rebate on everything in the store. He said he had to check to see if he could give me that price. After checking on his computer he said he could give me the 681.00 however he could not give me the 11% rebate. That the item must have been priced wrong. (Keep in mind the rebate is as in store rebate, meaning I would have to come back to spend it and probably more money) I asked to speak to a manager who might be able to help me with this. He said he was the manager and that is the best he could do. I then said I we came in that day just because of the rebate and if I could not get it, I guess I would not purchase it or the other 200.00 or so worth of items I was planning to purchase to go along with the play yard.On Monday, I emailed Menards and explained the situation and I received an email yesterday. This is the whole emailMary,Im very sorry, however we must reserve the right to charge the proper price of our products.Thank you,RayI have no problem with the correcting their pricing however not during the middle of a customer sale. To me this is a Bait and Switch. The customer chooses a product because of the price point.
