Terrible job. Took in vehicle stripped down to metal and when it came back 5 weeks after promised it had ‘paint bubbles’ I was told it was from applying to much primer too fast. Hello you guys are the ones that primed it and then never sanded it afterwards. Said it was not their fault and didn’t guarantee anything because the car was 20 years old. What a cheap way out. So now I take it to shows and have a nice big sign saying it was done by Maaco.

My husband and I went here because we thought the cost would be better. Guess what we was wrong. The price quoted to use and the price we agreed on was not the the complete total after our car was finished. The price quoted and agreed upon was $850.00. When the car was finished and they called after having our car for 2 weeks (they stated the car would be ready in a week) the cost was a little over $1200.00. Big difference, right. They did not even call to tell about the price change or to even ask us if we wanted to continue. I want return ever. That is not the way to do business or treat your customers. Disappointed

I brought an old camper here. It was estimated 15 hours of sanding at $49.50 and hour. I agreed. I was Told will be ready I’m about 5 days. Three weeks later they never Sanded it. No one would sand it. I think they have too much work and don’t really care about being up front and honest with the customer. All in all I begged to get it done and I have it. The paint is fair. It’s most disappointing that Dallas wasn’t really clear about what’s going on and that no one would sand it. So I’m happy I have it back in my possession. Some mistakes and overspray. Cost $1,089 and it’s fair. Some spots that weren’t sanded are already peeling. I just got it today. Beware. They have too much work and aren’t great at communication truth of the situation. A few guys there were very honest and forthcoming. I think it was Josh who was the most helpful. All in all it’s an old camper and it looks ok. Wish I knew three weeks ago it was going to sit and not get sanded.

Car sat for over a week when all it needed was a bumper and sideview mirror put on and painted to match. They tell you one thing but truth is they arent professional at all. Body work was done Monday, took til Friday for it to be finished painted and now still waiting for an inspection to be done. If the car is finished, why not go ahead and do the inspection so the customer can get their car back?

I purchased an inexpensive truck that had some serious delamination of paint on multiple panels. I obtained quotes from higher end painting companies and given the cost of this vehicle, decided Maaco would be an affordable option that would really make sense as to what I could invest back into it. So I went into this fully aware I would not be restored to factory paint. I went with the highest level of paint service and spent $1500 on a repaint only. No repairs. So here are the pros and cons for this location in Winston-Salem.Pros:- Front desk staff are very initially friendly, gave a quick quote, and generally pleasant.- The price seemed to be very appropriate for my expectations.- They offer some good promotional buys on their credit services.- Quote went flawlessly and was easy to discuss. The representativeunderstood my budget and appeared willing to negotiate as best as they could.- Actual color match to original paint was fantastic.Cons:- The main issue was a very poor estimate of downtime. I felt I was very upfront in requesting a true quote of downtime, so that I could secure other transportation. I really didnt care about not having the vehicle, but I needed to know what I was working with. I was quoted right at about a one week turn-around and they seemed very confident. Well, right at about three weeks later I finally receive my vehicle back and after about four phone calls after the one week estimate where the front desk says, Should be in a day or two each time. Why is it that hard to give an honest time estimate? Its clear they finally had enough of me getting updates because when I got the vehicle back and inspected it, they failed to put my antenna back on, failed to take off multiple pieces of paper used to mask, and still had tape in various areas on the frame. Clearly they knew I was getting impatient and they rushed the vehicle out. Vehicle was not detailed whatsoever, I had to do that when I returned home.- The orange peel was pretty poor on the A pillars and quarter panels and was clearly due to significant overspray or poor cure. Id expect it if I paid for the $300 job, but not when Im paying $1500. Some panels looked excellent. This is more a complaint of the inconsistency of the work done on my vehicle.I understand fully I would neither receive a factory, like-new paint job, nor did I want one. That would cost 10x the amount I paid. However, i did expect far better customer service and honesty in the process. In the end, the result was not terrible, it will hold up for what I expect out of this vehicle before I get rid of it.I would never use Maaco at this location or any national location on any vehicle that needs a high quality job or that is a new vehicle worthy of a back-to-factory repair or finish. I would possibly consider using them again on inexpensive vehicles that just need to start over for a full repaint, but Id try the location in Greensboro instead.Id say Maaco makes sense if your vehicle is valued at $10-15k and below. A great value for older model vehicles that you need to give new life to for maybe 3-5 years. I would not trust this paint to last any longer than that given the problems with orange peel right off the bat. I fear this paint will get really bad out of its warranty period. Go elsewhere for higher quality painting and if your vehicle has significant value.Im really disappointed because Ive heard of some really good results at other locations. It just seems to be so hit and miss. I feel 3 stars is the right rating for the end result.

I was very skeptical about using Maaco, a lot of people did try to discourage me from going, but i went anyways. I bought the $1000 paint and it turned out very impressive. very minimal orange skin texture and imperfections noticed. very nice work. My only complaint is they did not do a great job washing the car or cleaning up white powdery stuff, i think it is tape adhesive residue the after the paint job. Anyway i am a very happy customer, I will recommend them.

I had my 1988 Dodge Dakota pickup painted with Maaco in Winston Salem on Silas Creek and I was very pleased with the result and price and they gave me some free pin striping. They called me after three days to tell the paint job was done and wanted to if I wanted the cloth overhead in the cab to be replaced since the old one was torn and hanging and I agreed for a very reasonable price. Jackknifed my work truck with landscape trailer a week ago and went by Maaco and two other places for an estimate to get the dent and paint smoothed back out. Talked to James at Maaco and he told me upfront they were the cheapest for the best job in town but he understood I wanted to price check. I told him I needed the job done ASAP bc I had contracted clients coming up for the next three days ltr that week that I had to take care of. That was 11 am on a Monday, James gave me an estimate of $550 and said if I wanted to bring it back by 12:30 they could have it done by end of day that Wednesday. Sure enough... went to another place (I wont name names) and was told it would be $1,320 and they wouldnt be able to get to it until mid to late September!! Needless to say, I didnt even bother getting an estimate from the third place I went straight back to James at Maaco, shook his hand and said Ill take your word for it, lets get it done. Got a call Wednesday at 4 p.m. right on time, went back to Maaco and the truck looked better than it did before the accident. They smoothed the dent out perfectly and the paint looked great, it blended right into the old paint and you couldnt even tell itd been jackknifed. On top of that James said Im a man of my word and we got it done for what he quoted me at $550. I highly recommend these guys over any other body shop in Winston Salem, you honestly cant beat it! Thank you again.

I pulled in to Maaco to get an estimate on my car and was shocked at the parking lot when I pulled in. There were probably 300+ cars on the lot and many of which had flat tires and broken windows. There was no way in hell I would leave my car there. There seemed to be very little security overnights. I just didn’t have a good vibe about the lot or the care of my vehicle while in their care/custody/control. I didn’t even go ask for an estimate. I drove in and right back out after seeing the “junkyard” type appearance.

Dropped off my PT Cruiser on April 20th to have my front bumper replaced and painted. They said it would be done on the 24th. I called on the 24th and was told it just needed to be detailed and it would be ready the next day. Called on the 26th and was told the bumper that came in was broken and they would have to order a new one. Since no work had been done (despite what I was told on the 24th) I wanted to just pick up the car and be done with them. Since I prepayed Dallas said I would have to wait 15days for my refund, but if I would leave it and let them work on it he would give me a price break. I finally got to pick up my car May 2nd. Dallas refused to give me the price break he promised and there are paint spots around the headlights. (Splatter from painting the bumper I presume). As a customer service worker these issues could have easily been resolved with simple phone calls to update me on the status of the repair. Maaco never called me, and when I called them they were not honest. Dallas did offer a price break on my next paint job...as if I would return.

The owner of this establishment should not be working in customer service if he gets that annoyed that people paying alot of money to get their car painted complaining about whats not being told to them or mention things that wasnt taken care of when the job was done. They do not give ENOUGH full details about what kind of job is being done to ones car. My car after 3 weeks of not washing it or waxing it like i found out online to keep the paint looking fresh longer is already cracking, i have bubbles every where and i wont waste my time complaining to the place because the manager will get butthurt and say dont doubt my intelligence. I have plenty of knowledge about cars so dont doubt us customers. We just want honesty. DO NOT COME TO THIS PLACE ITS A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY.

Dropped a spoiler off for a simple sand and paint as well as an install when I return. There was a paint special going on for $250 for an entire car paint job, I was charged $330~ For just a spoiler, which I agreed to. But after leaving I noticed paint overspray on my car which was only in their shop for roughly 15 mins for the install. When brought to their attention about the overspray, they never admitted fault, just kept saying they don’t understand how it could have happened but I hadn’t been near any other paint spray. They did attempt to take off the overspray. Although now roughly 3 months later, the paint is already cracking in spots where the spoiler creases. I understand you get what you paid for but I quoted reputable high end paint shops for the same price and I guarantee the quality would have been better. Would not recommend to my worst enemy.
