Great Staff and good price
Nice job on repairing my windows. Eager to take my money and made it really easy to pay over the phone. However, no one at this company seems to know how to produce a receipt for payment! How many times do you have to call a business to get a simple receipt?!?! Craftsmanship is ok. Customer Service, none.
Have worked with Alan and William and the crew for several years. We manage a small apartment complex and a few dozen houses in Winston Salem and wouldnt work with any other glass company. They truly care about us and our residents and do all they can to make repairs quickly as well as affordable.
SAM ALERT! This place is awful. They have been such a hassle to deal with. We ordered windows and gave them a deposit in November but every time we call to see what the status of our order/install is they act like they dont know who we are. It seems like this business is just a front for something else.
Bad experience. They took 1/2 down deposit in October of 2020. We still dont have windows and they will not return deposit. We won a judgement against them in small claims court and now have to file a Writ of Execution to send Sheriffs Department to try and collect our money. Just beware.
Shoemaker Glass and Mirror is the worst company in business in Winston Salem today. The negative reviews posted on this company are right on target. They tried to replace a large window in my house. They not only cut the glass too large for the hole, but installed the glass backwards with the tint on the wrong side. While trying to knock the improperly cut glass into the hole, they cracked the glass. The company left without even telling me they had cracked the window. They took their money and ran. When I called them they gave me the run around for four months....while they were filing for bankruptcy! I never was able to receive compensation from them. The job was finally given to another company who completed it quickly and properly. As happened to the other reviewers with bad experiences, the company threatened to sue me for writing the truth. I believe that a company should stand behind its work. This company was originally Northside Glass. They changed their name to Shoemaker Glass and Mirror after they did such poor work ....and left jobs uncompleted while keeping their 50% down payments without doing any of the work. I do not believe a company should be allowed to add phony reviews and make false promises that are not kept. If you need glass work, call another company!
I just bought a new house, a fixer upper. My new home has had the same windows for at least the past 40 plus years. Every window in my house needed to be replaced. Shoemaker Glass did a great job! They were extremely professional and they did an amazing job! I would 100% recommend them!
Its said that a business can even still be open even when the owner is scamming people.
I’m a manager for dominos pizza, we had our glass door fall completely off, I called shoemaker glass and within an hour our new door and window was replaced. They were fast, easy going, friendly and professional. I’ll always go through this company from now on, and I highly recommend them for any glass work. They are amazing! A huge thank you from the dominos team!!
Great experience with this company. They replaced nearly all windows in our nearly 100 year old Ardmore house. Their price was unbeatable.
I needed 13 windows replaced fast! Nine of the windows were custom sizes and Shoemaker had the project done quickly and beautifully for an excellent price! I highly recommend them!
BEWARE getting involved with this company! Shoemaker Glass is an offshoot of the failed Northside Glass. The presumptive owner/manager will promise you the world, tout their 40+ history, try to put you at ease with his fast talking and seeming understanding of products and installations. Do not fall for it!After our building was struck by a vehicle, we were in an emergency replacement situation. Shoemaker Glass demanded a 50% deposit and promised the work would be completed in 3-4 weeks. After 2 months and multiple rebuilds, I learned that the materials installed were not code compliant. Upon this discovery, they were removed from the job and I began the arduous journey of trying to reclaim the deposit. After weeks of phone calls, text messages, and having to make a surprise visit to their office, I managed to only get half of my money back by agreeing to let them have their materials back. In doing so, and given the nature of the owner/managers hostility, I had to have a police presence during the material retrieval. For a perspective regarding Shoemaker Glass business practices, after removing them, I hired another company (Quality Glass of Winston-Salem) who did the job in 8 days, from measure to complete install, with the correct code compliant materials.EDIT: Within an hour of posting this accurate review, I was threatened with a lawsuit by the same owner/manager if I did not remove this review.
These guy installed a new door in my storefront.very knowledgeable staff. They got the work done in timely manner.I highly recommend Allen and the crew!
Always fast, always reliable, always honest. We have been using Shoemaker glass for years and couldnt be happier. Highly recommend!
Really pulled through for me. No question this is the only company I will ever go to for window or glass replacement. Thanks Tory!
Took workshop door and they replaced small window pain rather quickly. Good service. Kind staff.
These guys were quick to quote and for installation service of new doors for a business. I was very pleased with them and highly recommend them for projects.
Amazing place with great customer service.
Always available and ready to get the job done correctly
These people are scammers they have changed their business name and number because they have ripped off too many people, I suggest you find another company dont hire them you will regret it. They used to be called Northside glass and lot of judgments against them
Order glasses November 2nd with down payment and although I have called numerous times no resolution or glasses.
