I had a damaged cabinet door from my recently remodeled kitchen, that unfortunately was no longer available in my color for replacement from the manufacturer. I was able to buy an unfinished door however. I did not want to even attempt to finish the door myself and try to match the original, so I began searching the web for someone that did furniture refinishing.I found Woodworks of Distinction and contacted them. Speaking with Mike, he seemed confident that he could match the door. I dropped off the new door, along with two adjacent doors so he could try to match. I did not have high hopes that anyone could successfully match the color or finish. When I arrived at the shop Mike greeted me and discussed his plan on how to finish the doors. Looking around the shop it is easy to see that they certainly have the capability to do any kind of finishing! Mike put me at ease and again assured me he would have no problem finishing the doors to my satisfaction. When I picked the doors up, all my fears evaporated! I walked in and could see the doors standing by a worktable, ready to go. They were all lined up next to each other, and even under close inspection it was difficult to tell the new one from the old doors. It was an amazing job! Mike then took me on a tour of his spray booth and showed me how they build up the layering and achieve the color and finish match. Quite a labor intensive process, but the results are definitely worth it.If you are looking to have something professionally refinished, I can highly recommend Woodworks of Distinction! If you are looking for someone to wipe on a can of $10 Minwax to your piece, this is NOT the place. Go elsewhere if you want quick, cheap, and low quality. If you want a high quality finish done by a professional, this is a great shop. Expect to pay for the quality you receive, but know that it is still reasonable and well worth it!
