Went on Saturday afternoon expecting an exciting couple hours of bowling. Instead I was met with nothing but frustration and poor customer service. We paid for two games of bowling. During each game the lanes stopped working due to some type of mechanics error. The gentleman had to literally crawl up into the machine to fix the problem. This took about 10-15 minutes each depending on his availability. When then brought up the option to possibly receive a refund to come bowl again for a better experience but were told that WOULD NEVER be an option.Overall if customer service were better this review would have been different.
Abismal. We went with the kid bowl free registration. It was the very last week we could go. And man, was I excited to enjoy and support a small business right in my stomping grounds. I adjusted MY BUDGET because I really wanted my support to be financial with all the kids bowl free registrations going around. But from the get-go I was met with poor customer service. Unenthusiastic, unapologetic, dispirited individual, who perhaps was aging a bad day? I tried to chat the gentleman up saying I almost drove past the place because there was no sign outside and I had never been there, his response; “yup, been here for years” zero warmth, zero hospitality.I can deal with the fact that there were roaches, yes, time to call the Orkin man, I could even let go of the fact that the racks were getting stuck every now and then. After all, as the gentleman told me they’re been there since the 70’s, there’s going to be wear and tear in a building that old.But the cold, distant, lack of urgency and demoralized look, speech, and overall vibe of this individual really left a bad taste in my mouth. Whoever he is, please, for goodness sakes, teach him to fake it. Poor customer service is inexcusable.
The outside of the building looks pretty sketch, not gonna lie. But the bowling prices were good, there were plenty of lanes, everything worked as it should have, had no problems finding a ball I could lift, and the pizza was absolutely delicious (we were surprised at how good it was, actually). Makes for a fun, relaxing afternoon!
Horrible experience. Waited over an hour after we were told it would be a 30 min wait to bowl. Wife ordered food while we waited. Never got food. When approached to find out what happened to our food a employee nastily said it went out. Had to speak to manager who also had no clue what happened to our order and ask for refund. After an hour wait, saw two people walk in after us who were able to bowl as we waited and never got a lane. Seemed like young employees had priority for friends who walked in over us who waited. Employees just laughed. Never coming here again.
Great place to hang out and bowl. Kids bowl free (2 games per day, all summer long until 6pm, shoe rental is additional). Clean and clear lanes, friendly staff. I would recommend.
Place is from the 50s, the gs98 bowling machines are 22 years old and past there expectation date. Go have fun dont complain the guy who is running it doesnt own the ally or machines yet he puts his money as best as he can. The owner of the building doesnt put money into the machines or building. The staff is friendly and will help if you are patient an not rude. Kids bowl free is back all ya gotta do is sign up an get 2 free games.
Pins dont fully reset every other turn. Other times, they dont reset at all. This place is crusty and moldy. Drive a little farther and pay a little more for a better bowling alley.
Paid for 2 games over 4 people and shoe rental. None of our games, not a single one was played without a mechanical errors, waited over 30 minutes for assistance and the answer is no refunds, we have no mechanics. If you have no mechanics and and malfunctioning lanes, then make sure you put that also in a sign at the door, not only no refunds. The response is a free game, why? The lane next to us had multiple interruptions for issues also, 8 lanes out of 20 where not working by the time we were offered another lane… by then we did not wanted to be in the place or will return.
The hours on their site say 10 am opening but the sign on the door says 1.Fix it.Also, staff there is rude. Brought a guest with foot issues and cant wear the bowling shoes. They were very rude about that and were very argumentative. Wouldnt listen to reason.Dont go here
Went at a busy time but myself and my dad were able to get a lane and had a great time
Horrible!! be prepared to smell fried all the time!! old machines, horrible music.. disgusting bathrooms!! never again!!
Lane kept shutting off in the middle of turns. The staff was rude and didnt even want to respond when presenting the issue to them. The system would skip turns in the middle of bowling not even keeping the score. Outdated equipment and rude staff made this unenjoyable. Wouldnt not spend my money here again.
They need to either sell to a new owner or get new management and a loan...I went and the arcade was down and no one at the bar was working at 1pm on a Saturday?Lanes are unkept, balls are beat up.Only once did I see anyone with spray and a rag during pandemic time.Sign in front says please wear mask. Bowling isnt a physical sport so you are fine, you can wear a mask. Many people were not!Same rate as better places.I recommend you go there.
I had a pretty decent experience here:Pros:Great deal for young kids during the summerGlow in the dark lanes are great for friendsGood musicBilliardsand smooth-running machinesCons:Was a bit smellyI would definitely not eat food from here.Staff took a bit to respond to usand I wish their was another location a little closer or perhaps not as populated as their was some unpleasant people there. One of the people I was there with told me they witnessed someone dealing some sort of drugs or other merchandise in the parking lot and the outside of the building does not seem very welcoming.I feel this place could do with some renovations or perhaps a newer location in the downtown wintergarden area. I will still visit here but I figured I should just share my experience with others, and if it werent for the prices I would go to Disney Springs splitsville instead.
Asked to be put on a certain lane, worker said it was broken, would have been fine if they didnt lie and said somone reserved it. Also food was terrible.
Took our Scouts BSA Venturing Crew @crew210 there. They bowled two games and had so much fun. Told us next day that it was a must that we go back
Nice local alley with a decent pro shop
Great place of your under 18 years old
Lanes are broken, we switched 3 times because the lanes keep stop working. You have to pay 4 dollars to use the cue ball in order to play pool. Staff is super rude 😤 I dont really recommend this place.
We came at 11:50am for the kids bowling program. The receptionist pretended to be with other stuff and waited till 12:01 and then told us we missed the deadline of 12pm so we couldnt check in for the kids program. This is totally on purpose! Shame on you! Dont open the kids program if you dont want to honor it!
Love this alley great people some actually help me make my game better started 81 first game second 151 I was so happy
The staff is terrible. The air is full of smoke and the machine usually go with problem.
The place was dark couldnt see down the lane bathrooms needed attention and the youngins was on there phones
Great place to spend time together with family..
They have a 2 hour wait at the moment, and 9 of their 20 lanes are not working. I understand its probably expensive to maintain, but losing customers due to long waits is just as costly.
Food is gross we ordered pizza got here at 6 played 2 games and the pizza we ordered is raw including the bacon on it. yes I know I’m not expecting a 5 star restaurant but raw bacon on pizza gross. Also we felt the place was dirty and were not sure if anything was properly sanitized. No hand sanitizer stations out either. I would not recommend going. It didn’t seem like the staff cared.
Staffing works hard dont have enough workers. Did not have a Bartender.
Great place to bowl.Very accommodating four large groups.. we had 35Good service.
It appeared, less then half the lanes are in service. Lane 8 broke down 7 times in 20 minutes. They couldnt move us and refunds are not allowed. How convenient...They did gave us a free bowl voucher.. but like...why would we want to come back when we willing to leave early. Certainly since we are not getting our money back.
The place is outdated, not clean, many maintenance issues- floors, ceilings, many lanes dont work properly. No social distancing of different groups and they dont tell you ahead of time and they dont provide refunds. Dont recommend.
The people that worked their were very polite and attentive! 5 stars would have been given but the lane we were on kept malfunctioning! They did give us a new lane after the 2nd malfunction though so they fixed the issue.
Old school bowling alley. Nothing is new. Care of the lanes arnt to bad but the approach areas are horrible. No slide action whatsoever.
I get alleys have to be reserved for leagues and all that, but to be open for only an hour prior leaves little time to play-- especially when our lane goes down.I normally enjoy going here but the last time I did, the staff made it abundantly clear I wasnt welcome. I normally dont expect them to be friendly, but last time I went was an even worse gut punch. Eager to have us leave even before it was time to go
Old school bowling alley that looks a lot better on the inside. A lot of fun!
Our panels broke down multiple times, vending machine horrible
Do not come here. Terrible customer service. Made us wait forever and then rushed us out and did not tell us what time they closed. DO NOT COME HERE.
Great bowling! They really take care of you and want to earn your business back. Thank you, we will be back.
I love there shoes super comfy. Good lanes I dont like that bumpers are either up or down all game so if you have little ones just a heads up. Super cute dinosaur ramp for kids to use. they had an arcade but super small and was turned off. They had a league and still were enough lanes for people to play.
The price was not to bad but the equipment needed to be updated... we had to change lanes due to ours kept freezing up then our balls would not return to us
Honestly the prices cant get any better! It is rather small but it has alot of charm. It is fun for all ages and is a very friendly environment.
I almost missed this place the building is a church converted into a bowling alley. Just look for the blue bowl sing. I had lots of fun bowling here with my friends we played one set. They have snack food here and some wram snacks but I did not try the food here but we did get two sodas. The soads was what I would expect from the fountain. The place was very clean and cozy inside. Love the retro theam of the whole place.
Great bowling alley! Simple and effiecent. Good food too. Friendly and accommodating employees. We had a great time here.
Old school bowling
They are AMAZING! Literally only two staffs and they have been more than wonderful to us. Such a great family place! The service is great the staff is beyond professional and friendly. Would definitely be coming here more often. Thank you so much! We highly recommend them. Perfect atmosphere!
The bowling alley was not crowded on my short visit. Its appears clean and the manager was polite and available if I needed his assistance. There was no crowd and only a few families or groups enjoying the facilities. I believe this would a excellent location to bring a group of friends or family to spend some time learning, relearning or just enjoy some time bowling. From what I saw this could be a lot of fun and the only thing I believe has changed about bowling(in the past 20 years) is the price of bowling and my ability to get out there and get back into a fun way to stay active. Both are worth every dime.
Fun atmosphere. We came on a Thursday afternoon and thought the prices were fair. We ordered mozzarella sticks and fries. The food took a while and the fries were cold, but honestly we all ate and had a good time :)
Dont be put off by the very plain outside - inside its lovely. Good food and very modern equipment and very very reasonable. Impressed!!!
I first visited the bowling alley almost 20 years ago. Over the years I have taken my kids and my wife and weve always enjoyed the experience.
Fun in a safe and friendly location.
We love it here. its older but has such charm surrounding it. the employees are great and the prices are very reasonable. makes for a great date night or family night.
Bowling alley has not been taken care of and the lanes broke down half the time. Kept moving us to new lanes.
Very fairly priced for some friends who want to bowl a few games and share a couple of buckets of beer. Staff was friendly and capable, even if a bit short handed. It has what you need. If youre picky, bring your own ball and shoes. I had a great time with friends without blowing $100. The power when out briefly during a storm but popped back up and was back in action shortly. The three people I saw working on a fairly busy evening didnt stop moving and communicating to keep everything as smooth as possible. Ill definitely be back
I love this place and highly recommend it!1) Clean building, very affordable prices, and friendly staff add up to a great time.2) Oh, did I mention NEW comfortable bowling shoes that actually feel nice and not like wooden planks.3) Finally, the lanes bowl GREAT
Had fun here with family & friends!!Staff members were nice too.
Love this place!!
I love taking my nieces an nephew here..so much fun
This place has been there forever. I remember going as a kid in the late 80s. But there were only two people working out front and they seemed unable to handle the demand. Nice enough people, but just an overall lack of service. Its tough to know whether its worth the cost-savings as compared to larger establishments or not.We may try again on a weekday at some point... Not ruling it out, but just not super impressed.
Met the owner when my girlfriend and I came here for the first time a few months back. He couldnt have been nicer and he truly seems to care about this place. Being able to get beer and finger food is definitely a plus!
I havent been here in quite a while and must admit they did a great job fixing and updating the interior. We were there during the day and its very child oriented. Bumpers and a slide that allows you to load the ball and it rolls down and onto the lane makes bowling easier for the kids. We had a great time and the staff are very helpful and friendly.
Great for the little ones. They have an advanced bumper system and several cute items to help the young ones bowl. It has an arcade and the kids loved the popcorn. Friendly staff!
I LOVE this place. Sure, its outdated and could desperately use a makeover, but it has character and charm to spare (no pun intended). It reminds me of every bowling alley I went to as a kid, more than likely because it is older than I am. I frequent this location and would ecommend it to anyone else.
We really enjoy the time that we spend there. The prices and the service was good. I cant wait for be there again. Recomendado.
It was a great idea to celebrate my sons birthday st Winter Garden Bowl. The kids had a lot of fun and were active for a couple of hours. I recommend it!
Very nice and good food and good price. I like to come bowl all time.very nice and friendly staff. Thank you .Jeff.m.
Very busy place haha. You need to prepare to wait a little bit. I accidentally found my favorite snack here: funnel fries!
Ducked in with the Sis and Diamond Greg for some Saturday pinsmanship and beer drinking and it was fine time, heres why:* 2 Ultras and a Bud in Ice Cold bottles is under $10, SCORE!* Humble and inexpensive, neighborhood bowling alley* 5 games, 3 people, $65 bucksThey dont have enough balls, and the shoes need to be upgraded, but all told, good stuff.Stuck in time, decor-wise. The place could be a set for the net Kingpin movie, for sure.Cabeza OUT!
Fun place for a quick game or two. Shoes are starting to show their age, a few of the balls have burrs in the finger holes and some of the lanes have functionality issues. I.e. pins not registering as going down or even displaying they are still up. Price is okay for a small bowling alley.
Im a little bit of a whistleblower so excuse my bias. They pay as little as possible for the people and things they have to maximize profit. I do not reccomend taking anyone here, customer service is subpar, you will never be regarded as number one, more of a strong number 2. No auto bumpers, the machines are old and the only person who remotely can fix major breakdowns is a part time employee. Jeff is the one person there who could probably help you better than everyone (years of customer service experience). Definitely go out to eat before or after. As historic as the center was I do not see it ever returning to the glory of the past that everyone talking about. Its a shame i never got to see it. Two stars, one because I have to and the other because of the history.
Good time with the family. My son love it and is his first experience bowling. Good customer service and clean place. Love it.
I had a lot of fun
Enjoy bowling. Wish the lanes worked better.
I love this bowling alley and look forward to going every Thursday with my bowling league. Fun times and Im getting better at bowling every time.
Needs renovated. Half the lanes inop. Fun time bowling though. Price is fair
Great staff, great family bowling.. Pretty good food also from the concession. No complaints here 😊
Traditional and very small place! Never had to presh the reset buttons, which is great technically! Lots of nice people that goes here! But sometimes the employees or head employees (especially) is unpleasant! Its a small place so, being busy is not an excuse. Other than that, its very decent! Oh yeah, put something to spray in the bathroom please!
I love bowling! This bowling alley just needs a little more tlc and updating and it could be spectacular. We had lane 13 and 14 and the lane kept jumping my SIL ball out of the gutter, which froze the whole system numerous times. It definitely slowed down our game. Overall though, its a great way to spend a couple hours and inexpensive!
Had a blast!!!
If you are going to have a bar than have a bartender. We waited 20 min until I finally went over and asked can someone help. His reply is you all are thirsty tonight. We wont be coming back here again
Fun family place. Good prices. Brought my 3 year old. She has a bunch of fun.
I believe theres a new owner. Its a great family place and customer service is always 👍. Game area is nice.
Nice little bowling alley reasonably priced the only complaint, too many lanes down when we were there. Great people though.
Lanes had oil but pinsetters need to be tuned up. Lane 16 kept dropping 7 pin. I was bowling with my kids so I didnt make a big deal out of it.
Not too expensive and usually always has a lane available. They have food and beer. Its a fun place that isnt too expensive. They have a vending machine that also has socks in it for purchase so if you forget your socks youre not out of luck. It doesnt look like its in a great part of town but it actually is. This is in proximity to Downtown Winter Garden which is been gentrified and really revamped. The service at this place is pretty good and Ive never gone there and been turned down for a lane. They have a pretty enhanced arcade area so that the little guys can play. I highly recommend this bowling alley over the one in Clermont if you have the option of choosing.
Nice people, ok environment... it is a nice place. Not the best, not the worst... just ok
Great birthday party experience for my daughter!
I’ve never met such a rude owner/manager in my life! The Winter Garden Christmas parade takes place once a year. Dillard Street is closed for about an hour where no cars can get in or out. The city residents come together for a fun, festive time to watch the local dance groups, bands, etc. march down the street. All of the local businesses let the residents park in their lots and sit along the sidewalks to watch the parade. That is, all of the local businesses except Winter Garden Bowl. There was a really rude man who demanded that we move our car because he didn’t want parade watchers parking in his lot. I told him that I have parked in the same spot under the same tree for the past 4 years and he said he didn’t care. I told him that I was shocked with how rude he was being. The street was blocked off. His parking lot had 5 cars in it and dozens and dozens of empty spaces. Nobody would be able to come bowling until the parade was over. I told him that I didn’t plan to ever bring my family bowling at his alley again. He said “Great! Go to Clermont or some other place!” So, I am posting my experience here to let the residents of Winter Garden know the type of man that runs this bowling alley. There were a few other families near me on the sidewalk that said they had similar experiences with the man. It’s so sad to see a local businessman be so rude and uncharitable to the people in his community.
Ive had bad experiences here before... a lot has changed the staff is up to date the service was great and prices were good, we will be back!
I visited today then learned that they have seasonal hours. From now til may 31 Monday and Wed hours are 1pm til 11pm. Id like to give update on google but didnt see how.
Really appreciate the summer special with kids bowling free. Makes for a nice outing, especially on a rainy day. The building is a little dilapidated, restrooms arent maintained very well, roof leaks which causes a lane to close, lanes freezed up pretty frequently.
This bowling alley is somewhat small, but the staff is friendly. The only reason I gave it 4 stars out of 5 is because the date for our lane got stuck multiple times, the reset button on our lane was apparently out of service, and it was a slight inconvenience to have to fetch someone to fix it. Otherwise, it was a great experience. The snack bar has options from popcorn and fries to wings and pizzas. Also, the is an arcade, complete with tickets to earn prizes.
Great place to have fun with the family!
I have been bowling for over 50 years - and I must say Jay and his team are the friendliest Staff I have met. Just bought 2 bowling balls from the pro shop - and Rick did a great job helping us select out new equipment and fitting us. All in all, I see WG Bowl as my home lanes - even though we live 1/2 year in Cincinnati. One other point - they let me pre bowl as much as I want - so I cover the months I am away.My (and my granddaughter Lilys favorite place to bowl. Thanks Jay and Staff.
Wasnt bad we enjoyed the few games we played and enjoyed the time at Winter garden bowl
The lane scoring system was terrible. Kept messing up the scores. Management did nothing to make it better. Save your money go somewhere where people care about your experience.
Reasonable price and nice staffs! Good place to play!
