I. Love. This. Diner. Their food always hits the spot! Here you see the sliders, I already ate some bc I couldnt help myself. They look a little dinky but they are absolutely PACKED with flavor! I highly recommend!

My childhood buddy took me to breakfast. It was very crowded, but wait time was short. Service was very good with short wait time on meal, which was plentiful & good. I shall return.

Visited Houston for a quick vacay, this place is a spot that was recommended by a friend. I was treated to lunch there before I left town and they did not disappoint, next time Im Houston I will stop by again.

The food prices here are amazing. I ordered a salad and it was good. I will definitely be going back and I will be recommending to family and friends.

I was surprised by their turkey and avocado omelet. It was well seasoned and tasted good for the price it was as well. Until last Sunday, I havent visited this place in at least 20 years. The full atmosphere hasnt been remodeled or changed at all. They could use a make over in their restaurant. Over all, this place is still good, but mostly mediocre.

Great service. A diner thats been around for a long time. Nothing fancy. Just a simple place which is all you need at times. Really had some great service here.

Good food and fast service. Some of the seats need a little fixing and thats why it has 4 stars. Prices are great - less than $30 for 2 big breakfasts, large OJ & extra biscuit.

Great little old fashioned diner with great lunch special that change everyday so you always have something different issues. I love the meatloaf and the Salisbury steak

I havent eaten here in a long time and came back . The waitress was so good and the breakfast was very good . Im happy to say that I will be back here many more times .

Ten empty tables and we are still waiting. Other people before us are waiting. Does this place have a clue they are in the restaurant business?And there are right people waiting to pay their bill. Make that ten.Wondering if we dare the food.....Font staff is clueless and indifferent.Waitstaff and food way too slow.Food is okay.Keep driving you are not THAT hungry.

I stopped by for breakfast on a wet and cold morning, and had my day brightened by the amazing service I received. I ordered the two eggs Mexican scrambler with grits and biscuit which was rather satisfying. The pancakes were good too. And my server came over often to ensure that my coffee cup was never completely empty.

This was my first visit here..its too early for a definitive evaluation,however,I do plan to revisit this diner in the next two days ...will keep you all posted...so far so good !

Used to be a very good experience. Today, not so much. Didnt come back to take our order for a long time. When food finally came out, breakfast items (eggs! And gravy) were cold... And got even colder while waiting for silverware. Asked for it twice. Plus the chicken fried steak was the toughest Ive ever eaten. We used to love this place. Todays service and food were terrible.

I took my mom to this place and she still tells me how much she loved it to this day. The food was amazing and the customer service was great.. Well definitely be back. I would totally recommend it. Our server was Diane and she was totally amazing.

I will visit this place again. I the big breakfast it came with bacon, sausage, scramble eggs & french toast. The bacon was not the tipical small slices the slices were wide and thick and the French toast is making my mouth water just thinking about it.

This is a cute place. You sit anywhere you want... and OMG, the service is quick. The food was good, BUT I received a cup of weak coffee. If you know me, I had to ask. The server brought me a fresh cup of the employees (strong) coffee.

5 stars because the food is like stepping back in time, really good and old fashion home made flavor.(Little dirty because of age)Depending on who is your waiter as to how good the service is gonna be but the food makes up for everything.

Ive come here multiple times and I can honestly say my food has been amazing everytime. Whether Im getting breakfast or lunch, my food is always delicious. The staff is very friendly and the food doesnt take long to hit the table. The biscuits are a MUST HAVE.

The eggs over easy, hashbrowns, and ham were fine but their waffles have been better in the past.

Food was really good, never been here before and my waiter was really good. I had the veggie omelette with hash-browns a little plain but regardless tasted pretty good. Sweet Tea not really to good but all still tasted really good.

Ordered breakfast for pickup- biscuits and gravy( gravy was a liquid they dropped sausage in, biscuits were undercooked), hasbrowns(crispy on one side but mush on the other side), eggs(cooked to hell and smelled off)Very disappointed that I wasted my money on this place

First time visit. Friendly waitstaff and good food. I enjoyed a bagel breakfast sandwich with eggs, cheese and a hamburger patty. Delicious! I would definitely not hesitate to eat there again!

The staff Jocelyn, Arden, Catherine were all very polite and courteous while under busy and multiple issues during the ice storm recovery. I commend them for keeping their composure and producing quality food. I love this place ❤.

Food was great. Chicken sandwich and jalapeno burger. Wasnt allowed to substitute fried okra for fries which was weird. Service was horrible. Probaby 10 minutes just to get water and another 20 to get our food. Then another 5 to get silverware. Food is always good however.

Went here for lunch, food was good,the place really really clean, staff can be a little bit faster but overall it was okay. I had chili cheeseburger and it was quite tasty, will come again for lunch to try something else.

I enjoyed my food and the environment however my friend said their version of blackened fish was distasteful - no seasoning. I taste the fish - it wasn’t bad. I had Mediterranean poached eggs over Canadian bacon/ham 👌really good. My friend ended up eating the other half of my food and throwing away the fish. #🆗

Pleasantly surprised! Everything was really good. Fresh fruit bowls, chicken wings, veggies omelets, short stack, loaded hasbrowns....We will definitely go back.

Went here for breakfast for the first time in a long time.The chicken fried steak was good but wish the breading stayed on a little better.The cream gravy was a good consistency but lacked seasoning. Namely salt.Overall the experience was nice. Customer service was on point and the atmosphere was good.

Wait staff stayed in the kitchen while we were there. Asked for the eggs to be over medium and received sunnyside up. Bacon wasnt cooked. There was a waitress that had a attitude about helping use. Will not be going back anytime soon.

Food was good, but our waitress was terrible. She was rude and slammed our plates down on the table. Did not come back and ckeck on us like she should have. She just tried to rush us out of there. I will never go back and I will not recommend this place to anyone else.

We loved the Avalon Diner. The waitresses are super friendly and seem to enjoy working there. Our waitress, Claudia, gave us great recommendations. The portions were huge, and the food was delicious - especially the French toast! We will definitely be coming back.

One of my favorite places me and my boyfriend eat at. The waiters are always friendly and really go out of their way to serve you. The food never dissapoints and always fresh!!! Their chili, cajun tenders and fried pickles are my go to. 😋

I hate omelettes!! However, I truly enjoyed my veggie omelettes. It was hot & delicious. Other places veggie omelettes temperature drop due to the cold veggies--- not this one. My cottage potatoes were sent back bc they were cool. I think they reheated the ones I sent back bc the flavor was missing. Service was okay. Yes, I wld still come back.

Really delicious food! Comfort food, something on the menu for everyone, including vegetarian options. The service was speedy and attentive, we had a really good time. Everything we ordered tasted spectacular. Onion rings were crisp and perfect, chicken fried steak and old fashioned hamburger were huge and really good. We will definitely be visiting again. And the prices are very affordable for the amount of food you get! A must try.

Its a genuine diner. All the great breakfast foods youre used to. Never been there for lunch or dinner, but the menu looked great. Always busy. You cant screw up eggs or grits or milk, but the coffee and pancakes are just Meh!

This restaurant serves breakfast ALL DAY! Thats awesome! I dont always wake up in time to eat breakfast but to have a place to go to that serves breakfast all day like Avalon does is great. So if you are like me and want to eat breakfast for dinner or lunch or whenever go to Avalon. Excellent service, great tasting food and good prices. They do serve lunch and dinner too.

We were looking for someplace to eat that we didnt have in San Antonio and this was a great place. Very cute and the food was delicious. Service was great too.
