Im quite disappointed with my purchase. I am an experienced gardener and I have come across many good soil but this is not one. I got 2.5 cu yards of gardeners blend soil for vegetable garden. I know sand provides good drainage but too much of anything is good for nothing. The blend I received has more than half of sand in it. The plants are not growing well. They have started dying on me. They may be good at their other landscaping supplies but not vegetable garden soil. Do not waste your money. Go elsewhere. I am not sure how I am going to remove the soil and replace. See it for yourself.

Cant say enough good thing about Reliable Peat. We have been using them for several years. Their mulch is always high quality and lasts. We order over the phone and have both picked up with the bed of our truck for smaller refresh jobs and had large quantities delivered. Outstanding service every time. Great place for sand, rock, and the black cypress mulch is beautiful. Well rotated and oxygenated too which helps protect against root rot. Nice yard art inside including wine bottle chimes.

I have been very happy with the quality of my potting mix that Reliable Peat has been delivering to me for over 10 years. I appreciate them showing me around their material yard explaining to me the different possibilities for creating the perfect growing medium for what I need. What is really nice is that I can experiment with new mixes and combinations since they have gotten their new mixing machine. It allows for small volume custom blends which gives me the opportunity to run trials to see how the mix will perform without having to make a costly mistake. I am always trying to improve my methodsI appreciate their knowledge and expertise in creating the perfect growing medium for me. Their delivery is prompt so I get my materials when I need it.I do recommend Reliable Peat for their quality products and service.

I scheduled 10 yards of mulch for delivery at my home. The driver contacted me when he was on the way to my house. Not knowing what time my mulch would be delivered, I stepped out to get some lunch. That is when he contacted me. I let him know I was around the corner and would meet him. The driver, Ricardo, beat me to the house and waited for me to get there. I showed him where I wanted the mulch dumped. It was on a concrete pad behind the gate at my driveway. I knew it was unlikely that all of the mulch would fit on this pad without getting in the way of the open gate and that some of it would end up off the driveway on the lawn. Ricardo dumped it just perfect so almost all of it was on the concrete pad. This made my job much easier so that I could distribute it to a large garden. He is a skilled driver and was very nice to work with. Thanks again Ricardo!

Best customer service and delivery. I had order 3.5 cubic yards of rock from someone else for delivery today. That place called me this morning to inform me they didn’t have it in stock so it would maybe be next weekend. Mind you my husband and I took off work today to have a 3 day weekend to get the rock laid and everything done. I found Reliable Peat this morning and gave them a call. The man who answered was very nice, had the white marble rock we needed in stock and had it to me within 4 hours. Reliable Peat saved the day, I cannot express enough how thankful I am I found them. Oh and they were cheaper than the original place we had ordered from. So win win all around 😃 Highly recommend and will buy from them again for our landscape needs.

Great service! Prices unbeatable.

We ordered 7 cubic yards of their organic vegetable garden special soil a few months ago. Since then nothing is growing, I planted a bunch of seeds and months later now they are still only sprouts. We are experienced gardeners and usually have a flourishing garden but since adding this soil to our garden we’ve had stunted growth and something just isn’t right. This is the worst season we’ve had in years. $300+ down the drain. I am extremely disappointed in this company. Do not waste your money!We also had some issues with delivery. Their delivery person didn’t show up one day and we had to reschedule.

I know nothing about rocks.... So I arrived at Reliable Peat with a lot of questions. I knew how much it would cost to fill my new “French drain” with bagged rocks from a big-box store, and that’s about all I knew. The guy at Reliable Peat was great. He answered my questions with transparency and knowledge. The price was good. The delivery was made on time and was placed where I’d asked, given I couldn’t be there. The rocks look great and I’ll be ordering another round from Reliable Peat for the next phase of work.

We recently had a delivery of 6 cubic yards of large pine bark from Reliable Peat. Everything about the process was perfect! The price was lower than buying bags at a home improvement store, and ordering (by phone) and the delivery were absolutely seamless. The local office was great to respond quickly to questions, and to call back with information about product availability and delivery. The delivery fee is SO reasonable, and they delivered the next day (from placing the order in the afternoon). Their product was great, and my vegetable gardens are amazing!

Not so reliable. Scheduled a delivery. Their truck broke down but they didn’t bother telling the customers. My wife happened to go in just to see if we had to be home during the delivery. He said we would have to be pushed back a couple of days. A couple of days goes by and still no truck and no idea when it would be fixed. Ended up cancelling the order for a refund and just purchased the rocks at Lowe’s. Would have loved to help a local business but my first experience was not good. They also never answer the phone.

I ordered the gardeners special for my raised garden beds which I was told was the correct selection. Needless to say, the mixture was 70% sand, 10% mulch from another delivery and the rest actual soil... Im not very pleased with quality of soil. Over the course of a few weeks; after watering the plants lightly, sand has eroded and came to the top. The quality is not ideal for vegetable gardens. Ive had a number of plants die on me and more on the way. I have to remove 3 tons of soil from the beds, purchase real soil, and repot. A waste of $150...**UPDATE** 7/2The owner has worked with me to rectify the issue. Im modifying the review accordingly based on the resolution. Thank you for standing behind your product and correcting the issue.

Excellent service. I wanted soil amendment for my vegetable garden. Steve at Winter Garden location gave me sound advice. I wanted my soil delivered today or tomorrow. He told me that they dont deliver on Saturday. So he helped me with his delivery today even though he was pretty much booked for deliveries. When I went back home, the delivery truck was just behind me! I offered Steve extra money for expedited delivery and he REFUSED to accept extra money. Service was beyond my expectations.

Just a short drive away, they have what I need and always great service.

Purchased 15 cubic yards of pine bark mulch for delivery to cover a 1500sqft playground area, maybe got 1000sqft of coverage at +/-3in. Itd be optimistic to say I was short a few yards of material (13.9 yards should cover 1500sqft at 3in, 12.3 yards should cover 1000sqft at 4in, 9.2 yards 1000sqft at 3in). Called, spoke with Steve, he insisted they delivered 15 yards and couldnt help me. I purchased 5 yards (65 2cuft bags) of bagged pine bark from Lowes.. and it easily covered the remaining 500sqft at the same +/- 3in coverage.

Steve was very knowledgeable and helpful in selecting the right product for my needs. I would recommend Reliable Peat to friends and others.

Beware they cheat on the measure. I picked up supposably 2 cubic yards of raised bed garden soil and only was loaded 1 1/2 cubic yards. It was easy to figure out that their measures are off because I needed 2 1/2 yards to fill my raised bed and it only filled 1/2 full. I called to let them know that my load was short they insisted l a cheat. My loss is $14.00 so its not worth chasing, but you need to make sure you know you trailer capacity if you do business with these guys. I will never be back.

They did have good products their prices were OK but they did not stay in behind their products I was told that their lawn chairs were guaranteed I did not even set them in the rain they were in a safe place out of the weather and one of them came apart after 3 months they said the gear and twas only for 30 days Also they broke part of our sprinkler system when delivering gravel and I have talked to them in a nice way I choose not to do any more business with them

It’s a horrible place, never go there, they use a 1/2 yard loader bucket to sell a full yard material, because the 1yard bucket is broke since months, and they can’t replace it. A joke, the owner must be happy to scam the customers every day!!!!

I bought 7 yard of mushroom soil then 8 yard of mulch from them and had them delivered. Both occasions I got 30% less. For example, the 8 yard mulch end up covering 600 square feet at 2 to 3 inch depth only. When I called the owner Steve, he said my calculation was wrong. I asked to send him a picture he said it was no use to him. Very dishonest business and very disappointed.
