Just had the Crew install a new Viessmann Boiler system for me. Everyone was top notch. The System looks like a piece of art work.

Great service everytime I call!

They always have oil in my tank and clean my furnace when I need them to. Not much to comment about. Not sure why there are negative opinions??? Some people would complain if you hunh them with a short rope!!!

I really dont understand where the negative reviews come from because that has not been our recent experience.Winthrop Fuel had to replace our hot water and heating system after a catastrophic failure of the hot water container. This occurred due to poor maintenance by our previous propane supplier who installed two heating systems for in the 25 years that we were serviced by them.Though a big company, they never seemed to be able to keep their employees, so it was always a new face, and frequently they inexperienced. Many of their repairs had to redone. Additionally, we found that their prices on installs, repairs, service calls, and propane also always seemed high.Contrasting those experiences with our recent experience with Winthrop Fuel, from getting a fair and honest quote on our new system from Doug, to the the 3 person team led by Stephen, far exceeded our expectations in the time it took to install, and the quality of the equipment used. The plumbing, which was a nightmare because it had to fit under a staircase and was completely out-of-code from the previous patchwork installs, is now literally industrial sculpture.I have rarely been this satisfied. So again, I really do not see where the negative reviews have come from. Everyone from the office staff to the technicians have been top notch.Stop me in town and Ill show you the pictures of the before and the ndustrial sculpture after, and lll gladly tell what I was charged, then you can decide. Then I think youll understand why I am very happy.

Doug, your team finished up the install on our heat pump system today. I have to say that you have assembled a terrific and capable team. Scott’s knowledge and leadership of the team was impressive. Their work was professional, clean and efficient and you should be very, very proud.They did an incredibly job and we sit tonight in a comfortably cool space. Thanks to you and your team for their great work. It’s pretty easy to see why you are experiencing such good growth in your business these days.

Id like to say how happy we are with our new propane system. I was skeptical at first about the on demand water but we have no problems with plenty of hot water. What a difference from the old oil furnace - this one is super quiet. We truly are so happy with the new system.

We informed Winthrop Fuel that we where adding a porch to our house and that there propane tank needed to be moved, about 5 feet. We where told that Doug from Winthrop would have to come out and take a look at what had to be done. We where told that Doug could be here in about 3 weeks. He did show up, 4 hours late. Im not sure if he introduced himself as he headed to the propane tank. He did not apologize for being late. After a quick look, he said he would send me a proposal to move the tank. I asked what a proposal was and he stated it was the fee to move there tank. He said it would be $750.00 to move it. Needless to say, I was a bit taken back at the cost. I said thanks, Ill get back you. As I was walking away Doug press me for a decision on the move the tank stating that there tank had to be moved. I said that $750.00 to move there tank was not going to happen. He stated the nothing is for free. I said there where several other fuel companys that would be more than happy to install a tank without a fee. Doug angrily said he was vetting his customers and we where not the quality customer he wanted. I said I would let Winthrop Fuel know when they can pick up their tank. Doug said make sure the tank is empty. He then asked us When did we move here from Massachusetts? I dont think he meant it in a positive way, almost in a racist way. I told him to leave. Ive since learned that Doug is in some part owner of the co.Winthrop Fuel thinks they are in the fuel business. I have news for them. They are a Customer Service business that sells fuel. And they failed complete with us. We vetted them out. We will not spend our hard earner money with a company that views themselves as Elitist and there customers as $ dollar signs $.P.S. Aside for traveling around the country the last 11 years, born and brought up here. Maine will always be Home.

Horrible company! Do NOT do business with this company. Doug told us they purposely do Not tell their customers there will be a charge if customer reports propane smell. They hide the fact there is a fee he said so that customer wont have a choice to refuse the guy coming out to check THEIR own propane tanks. So as a good customer we paid for propane for years using their tanks to our cabin. This past end of summer we noticed a smell outside where tanks were & called them to report their tanks had a smell & maybe a new tank should be replaced or whatever. They NEVER mentioned a cost & said no problem they will check their own tanks. They came over & checked THEIR tanks (their property, NOT my property!) Yet several weeks later my elderly mother who is a senior citizen recieved a bill for $158.34. for what?????? So I called this Doug character who than told me if there had been a leak in tank, there would have been no charge, but there was not so they are charging. I said BS! You had a duty to tell us prior to you coming that there would be a charge. That way we had a choice to accept this foolish charge or just tell Doug to come pick up their smelly tanks & get them off my property. In fact Ive been asking them to get their smelly tanks off my property for over a month now. Ive repeatedly requested them to get them off my property. They state they have no time. Its a scam! They want to keep their smelly tanks on my property so we call to report the smell & they secretly charge senior citizens $158.34 to take a look at their tanks. But than refuse to remove their tanks. My mother has been a loyal customer with them & has paid for propane through them on time. She now only owes them for that $158.34 charge that we will NOT pay. Id rather pay an attorney 10x the money to make sure they cannot do this to any other person. To ensure they do not continue to exploit people.

We’ve been using Winthrop Fuel for years and are beyond pleased with their service. We bought a new house and are therefore on a different delivery schedule. Sarah was more than accommodating in getting us a delivery in a more than timely manner. Today, we got an oil delivery and it was miserably cold outside. While the delivery driver was outside, our son was waving to him through the window. Jason pretended to throw snowballs at him through the window and my son thought it was hilarious. Instead of being grumpy and quick because he was out in the cold, he was happy and playful. It was the simplest gesture from someone who was just out, doing their job, but to my son, it made his whole day. I cannot recommend Winthrop Fuel enough for their prompt service, outstanding employees, ability to accommodate and their friendly customer service.

I manage a property that has multiple boilers, heaters, H20 heaters, and kitchen stoves, Winthrop fuel has gone out of their way to make sure we are always up and running 7 days a week. If we need them they are here on property asap. The people in the office are great and do everything they can to assist us when we have needed help. Plus this company gives back to the community in many ways.

Guy was very unprofessional and was rude to my dad. Therefore, one star. With all the companies that exist to get the same products, one would expect better customer service. Don’t waste your time with these guys.

I just recently had Winthrop Fuel install a new System 2000 propane boiler at my house and I must say they did a great job. Thanks to everyone at WFC and especially the install crew for a Job well done!

I have been a customer since I moved to Winthrop in 2009 and have always had great service from Winthrop Fuel. Everyone is kind and professional including the people in the office, the fuel deliverers and the furnace technicians. Always friendly, prompt service.

I called today in order to have my furnace serviced. I was speaking with an extremely rude short lady who acted like she was better then everyone. Upon trying to get a technician she asked if I had fuel, I said yes...so she said who did you buy it from? I said Fieldings...She said they will need to fix your furnace then. ( please note that last time I bought oil it was from Winthrop fuel) I have been a lifelong Winthrop resident and spent thousands with this company in the past. Not to mention the other 5 family members of mine that buy their too. Well not anymore. IF you have a choice, go somewhere else. They dont care about service and their not looking for work unless you only buy from them...well guess what.. your too damn expensive and your service is horrible...buyer beware beware!!

Been a customer for seven years. Should have switched providers sooner! Very expensive and poor customer service. Company charged me an annual tank rental fee of almost $100 (which I was dumb enough to pay) and tried to charge me a delivery fee of $150 if I needed a delivery within 48 hours. When I told them I could wait beyond the 48 hours in order to avoid the fee they quoted me a price of more than $6/gallon for propane. They stated the price was so expensive because I was not a high volume user. I called Irving Energy and was quoted $3/gallon with no tank rental fee and no delivery fee. I couldnt switch fast enough. I hope this review encourages others to look elsewhere for their fuel needs.

Customer Service sucks! I am a senior and disabled. They threatened to remove their equipment unless I paid them a small balance. Told them that they will get what I can afford until my fuel assistance comes in around Jan 2018. That is when the lady threatened removal. Do not use this company!!!!!

WORST. CUSTOMER. SERVICE. Everyone at WFC is incredibly rude and acts as though any question or request is an inconvenience for them. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS - JUST THE MONEY. Save yourself a headache and look elsewhere for fuel services.
