I came with 4 single items on my grocery list:Sriracha sauce, Chicken wings, Mrs. Dash Southwest Seasoning, and fruit fly traps. This Walmart did not have a single one of these items in stock. Not to mention they are usually out of about 1/4 of the stuff I need normally. What a trash pit. Going to start shopping at Dierbergs which has an abundance of stock every time Ive been there.

I love our Walmart. They have everything i need and want. This is the ONLY place we grocery shop at. We know what we like, where its all located in the store, and can get it done in 30min or less. PERFECT... PLEASE keep my chocolate chip waffles in at all times 😉🤭

Decent, well stocked, and pretty clean store. Good selection in comparison to other stores in the area. Only down side kind of a plus and that is that it is a big store, but it is set up rather conveniently though-with wide alises, which allows for both fast and slower paced shoppers--so overall, I think its one of the better in the area.

This Walmart is inconsistent with there return policy an screws there customers over by stating they need all kinds of things to return an item. I can return motor oil under the same circumstance but not 2 shirts, I’ve been stranded in there parking lot for an hour trying to figure out how to get home. I had 2 shirts in my car I was to return for gas $ to get home but because I don’t have my card or the receipt on me but they won’t let me return my items for cash back even though they can see that I bought it 2 days before. Stranded 2hrs now an Walmart refuses to rerun my items but ask me not to leave my car in the lot or it will be hauled off…. Thanks for the great service an amazing help Walmart. I really feel love a valued customer an will take my $15k a month to a diff store.

Unsavory, rude customers and employees. They make you do self checkout because they dont want to hire more help. Out of items often. And entirely too loud. Take a sedative before you go.The only good thing is the grocery pickup. Theyre always polite. And I dont have to go into the store.

Hard to find what you are looking for. Half the shelves are empty. There are some really nice people working there though. Very helpful.

Earlier this year, my family made an order for grocery pickup with an amended order that added items to the order. The order was picked up with all items placed in our trunk, all unseen until we arrived home. To our surprise, several of the items ordered were doubled. And we were charged for the extra items we didn’t order. Overall, I think we made five to six phone calls to store to ask for a solution and a refund for what we didn’t order. The first calls were answered by folks who I think didn’t have authority but indicated a refund would be forthcoming. Our last phone call was with an asst mgr who indicated, in fact, we would receive no refund. I asked if we would have been able to bring back doubled items for a return/refund, with the answer being if we would’ve done so within 24 hrs (if I remember correctly). Upshot, however, is the first calls answered by Walmart folks indicated to us a refund would be made. Furthermore, I’m not aware of any mistake we made such that we were the cause for the doubled items. They never offered an explanation that we were the cause. Needless to say, it’s not right to be charged for items we didn’t order without a chance to get a refund. We no longer do our grocery shopping at any Walmart store, not just Wood River.

The store opens @6/7am and on a Mon morning so much was not restocked. The staff was working but what happened 2 the night staff. Was it because the trucks didnt come n @ night. I though that was the reason they cut hours they could b stocked in the am 2 better serve the customers. Maybe its me

This Walmart seems to be sliding into a funk. It used to be a clean and tidy store with stocked shelves and friendly people. Not sure if it is because they are focusing more on the grocery pickup or if COVID has just made things hard to maintain, but shopping in-store is not an enjoyable experience anymore. Every time Ive gone in recently,, they have pallets of stuff everywhere, the shelves are frequently empty, and I really hate self checkout when I have a large cart full of things because there just isnt enough space to do everything. Thank God for pickup but I feel like the store overall should be a little better.

Ive more or less switched over to the order for pick-up process which overall is great but they tend to always be out of a few of my order items.

The shelves were empty, no benches for the old people to sit down and rest, not enough motorized carts for the senior citizens handicap, too many registers close. not ever using your self checkout!!!!!

Very clean Walmart. In and out of the parking lot easy. Only issue they have is they never have enough open registers.

The items I purchase most keep moving around the store to different locations, and out of 10 check-out lanes, only one will be open. Usually, its an under age person who has to call for help to ring up alcohol.

Due to the fact, that you want to go full self checkout. I enjoyed i nteracting with the cashier in my aisle. I will no longer shop at Walmart if and when it is full self checkout. This means your goal must be to add to the number of unemoyed individuals in the U.S.

This is a great Walmart. Better than the Waterloo Illinois Walmart

Pretty decent, couldnt find what I went in for, but left with things I didnt know I even needed.

Went to sporting goods to buy ammunition. No personal there. Hit pager button for at least 15 minutes with no results. Finally a worker walked by and I asked her to page someone. Another 10 minutes went buy before the person that worked there came buy and said he was clocked out but had keys to give to someone. Another 5 to 10 minutes effort a lady came back to make sale. Add up the time. What would you call my experience with Walmart? Dam sure wouldnt be any stars o. My check list.

Prices are semi ok. But there are never enough lines to check out.. I am notanemployee and I do NOT want to check myself out!!!!!!!!

Beware . Walmart does not screen there telemarketing people they allow to sell things in there store especially in electronics. They dont even know there name or who sent them. So beware of who you encounter in Walmart stores. May be a scammer.

Too bad they donthave negative stars to give. This place is a joke. Whole areas are completely bare.

I love the problems with supercenter they always have such a big selection of everything I absolutely love Walmart in general I recommend the supercenter and the Glen carbon Illinois supercenter

As always, took 15 minutes to find what I wanted, and 30+ minutes to check out their 1 open lane.

I had the worst experience Ive ever had. I stood around for 40 minutes waiting for a fishing license and ended up not being able to get one...then I do my shopping and then have to wait in line at customer service because several items rang up way higher than they were priced

With the current fully vaccinated number at 46.7% and the deadly new Delta variant spreading fast, Walmart has decided to resume checking receipts at the door. The AP worker checking the receipts had an improperly worn mask, no gloves, and did not sanitize her hands between customers. She insisted on opening every bag and looking at each item for the customer ahead of me. Seeing that I was walking toward the door, she asked to me to wait in line so she could look. I politely told her that I was unable to do that because of the Delta variant. With less than half the county being vaccinated, and carriers no longer showing symptoms, it is extremely inappropriate for Walmart to have a possibly unvaccinated, possible asymptomatic carrier of a deadly virus worker insist customers line up and have her unwashed hands on the items they bought. Incredibly irresponsible and dangerous.

Pharmacy drive thru staff were awesome! Fast, accurate, attentive, and very nice!

I was so disappointed that there no enforcement of the mask mandate for indoors businesses. Passed on eating at the Subway in the store because none of those workers had masks either. Just disappointing😞

Waits in lines need to be fixed ASAP. You make money by getting your customers through the lines to check out. I am not sure why this is understood by those in charge here. Please be proactive with addressing lines.

The staff at my local Walmart is great!! They are helpful. I have seen great team work between with fellow employees. Customer service is great.

There were a lot of items out of stock within the store and when it came time to check out each of the 4 or 5 lanes that were open had about 10 to 15 customers in each line very slow moving. I was very disappointed in that trip to Walmart.

Had to call corporate today after my experience. I had called to make a complaint about being double charged on an item, and when I told the customer service girl and requested a manager, she laughed at me and hung up. Hope she gets fired!

The store gets more disgusting every time I go there. Dirty floors, dirty bathrooms, lots of empty spaces on the shelves, and never enough checkout lanes open. Today there were only 4 checkout lanes open, all with at least 5 people with full carts waiting in line. Maybe they should take some of the people directing you to self checkout and put them on a register. I rarely go there anymore, and it will be a long time before I go back.

I am a former department manager and current associate and I placed an eyeglass order over two weeks ago. The vision center here was happy to take my money then order me lenses that dont fit ( very unprofessional) then when they are unable to fit them to my lenses they supposedly reordered them(lied to my face). They were supposedly reordered then two mins later cancelled all without refunding my money or notifying me. Today I came in to check on when they would arrive and was told by Tammy the vision manager that they were not ordered and I would need to come in again tomorrow to have my lenses traced again and ordered again. When I raised the issue that this is very bad business and asked how they are gonna make it right she replied that wasnt me and either I can come back again with no assurance they will do their job this time or I can get a refund. Absolutely unacceptable how are you going to refund me two plus weeks of waiting without the money I payed you? WalMart has horrible customer service even with their own associates this is BAD BUSINESS!

Honestly, this has got to be thee worst Walmart. They are ALWAYS out of stuff. Isles are a mess. Workers are not helpful. They put the slowest people working the registers which I believe they do to force you to use self-checkout. This store needs new management.

We just came to Wood River Walmart for 2nd time where they have No available carts in the building! The parking lot is full of carts but no employees will bring them in. The first time we saw this we didnt say anything because we gave them the benefit of the doubt that maybe they were super busy and couldnt keep up but we dont believe that is the case at all. In the past year this particular Walmart has went extremely down hill. It is very disappointing. The shelves are never stocked even when the product is clearly instock bcz we can see it above on top of the shelf. It is very disappointing. Coming into ANY grocery store and not being able have a cart available is unacceptable.

Lines where not bad and they offer lots of self checkout lanes if you wish to skip the main lines and check yourself out (also good for social distancing)Always fairly busy so often people are spread out if you need help which can make it difficult to find someone, but other then this never really had a bad experience here!(Included a random item I got here a while back)

Its a basic Walmart. Staff was nice. Nuteral experiences here.

The store was badly cluttered with merchandise to be stocked. It was obvious the store did not have enough employees. In the grocery section, you had to look out for all the store shoppers who were filling orders that had been phoned in. At least the store shoppers were helpful when I asked about the location of different items.

Bigger than a typical Wal-Mart, has just about everything you need. The paint and gun counter are a little more difficult to get good service, could be a lack of training. For everything else, good store to go to.

Its ghetto as hell. The employees are not helpful. They only have 1 or 2 lanes open despite most shoppers dont like using the self checkout. Its ironic they train employees to use the registers, but expect customers to do their job for them without pay. I have been slowly switching to Amazon even for grocery shopping. If I wanted to do the job for them, Id apply for a job.

Its in a good area with many other amenities surrounding it.. the people that work there are friendly and knowledgeable on where the products are at if you cant find them.. and even if you cant find certain things or other Walmarts they always have their stock..

This store in Godfrey is the most unorganized, unkept and unprofessional store I have ever been to. Most of the people I know drive out of their way to the Woodriver Walmart just to avoid what a hassle it is to shop in The Godfrey store. The whole store has gone to hell and nobody in charge cares..........avoid this store if u can!

Ordered a 43inch television on line at 905am for in store pick up. Arrived at Wal-Mart at 1pm. Went to the pick up station to wait for service. The young man could not find my order. I showed the order number on my phone and another worker said it was nit ready until i receive an email. We went to eat and returned but no email notification. Checked my credit card and it was not charged. Went back in the store found three on the shelf and the price was much cheaper. We up to self check out and got out the store. Wal-Mart is really going down in book.

Its not nearly as good as the other Walmarts Ive been to.. If you have the choice, go to Granite City.. Although if you have to choose between Wood River Walmart and Godfrey Walmart, Wood River is the better choice.. Youre Welcomed..
