I went to GMC for granite counter tops because a friend had recommended them to us as an affordable place. We picked out our counters on a Saturday and they had a guy come out and measure the same day. On Monday we had our estimate. I had read all the negative reviews and decided to get a second bid from a company that got great reviews. When their bid came in $500 higher, I decided to risk going with GMC granite. While there was a scheduling glitch, it was corrected and addressed by Gohar who I dealt with from the beginning of the process. I can say that the office staff may need a little work on their customer service, but I put that in the proper perspective that GMC beat the pants off their competition on pricing. The installation process went smooth. Alex did an excellent job when installing the counters and there were no issues at all. The installation team was respectful of our home and very careful when working around our new cabinets. So, based off the entire experience and the value, I gave GMC five stars. I would say that if you want to pay more, go to the competition and maybe you will have better service. We were on a budget and GMC came through for us with a great price and our counters look fantastic. When you pay top dollar, expect top dollar service. I felt the entire process was well worth my savings and I would use GMC again in the future.

I am completely satisfied with their service. This is a very reliable company and the people are very efficient. I had my kitchen remodeled in January 2015. As soon as the orders came in, they immediately sent in their workers to work in our house. What impressed me the most was that they knew exactly what to do and got it done quickly. They ate their lunches outside their vans in the cold and cleaned up before leaving for the day. I would definitely recommend this company for people looking for home improvement.

Decent price for granite. They replaced my laminate kitchen counters with granite. Their service plus additional fees (like demolition and removal) added up to more than the price of the granite itself. Total cost for 34sq ft kitchen was $2700 which included thunder white granite ($23/sq ft), an upgraded sink ($145 from Amazon) and faucet ($178 home depot), and brand new garbage disposal ($90 home depot). The work men are contracted out by GMC, so they didnt properly do everything and they werent in touch with each other so the job was not a seamless installation. The granite guys came in the morning and didnt seal the sink properly so I called GMC, who said the plumber would seal it. Plumber comes and says he knows nothing about that and its not his job. Called GMC back who had to send the granite guys back. They came back the same day so overall GMC got the job done with minor hiccups. I dont like that they know that counter top removal damages the walls and paint but they charge you $150 minimum to repair the damage. And I dont like that they tell you you must buy a new sink, faucet and garbage disposal because these things get damaged during their removal process. They should take care to not damage it!

GMC was very accommodating and their customer service exceeded expectations, including holding inventory for me when I had delays installing a kitchen island. The craftsmanship of the slab cuts was solid and the installation was also well-performed. This is a top value pick for granite installation in the area.

I love getting a good deal and with these guys you cannot get a better price on granite, Ive checked, most are anywhere from $10-$20 or more per square foot for the same product. I will admit though the store is a little disorganized (as other reviewers stated), but its a small house what can you expect. The guy that measured the job needs to be more careful with the tape measure, but the installers where professional enough to solve any dilemma that came up and the end result was excellent!!! Ive used GMC services twice now, first for the kitchen second was the a vanity top in my bathroom I installed myself, both I know have increased the value of my house substantially!!!! I dont know about theyre home improvement as I haven used them, But for granite youd be crazy to pay more for the same product elsewhere.

I am a homeowner with almost 40 yrs experience in home ownership, remodeling and repairs including granite and ceramic tile work. I chose GMC Granite and Home Improvement for 3 bathroom vanity tops on my most recent project. I found their price most competitive allowing flexibility on my role in removing old tops and disposal and doing my own plumbing. This brought the cost down to my target range- better than the the big box retailers or large granite specialty shops. The GMC project coordinator kept in touch accepting some revised measurements on my part, working on the install date, and project follow-up. She even contacted to ask if I wished the work done sooner and I accepted an earlier date. The installers arrived in the appointed window and were fast, efficient, and professional in completing the installation including a thorough clean-up of each of the 3 bathrooms. When they left, the only evidence that remained were the 3 vanity tops with 4 neatly installed Kohler sinks and the odor of the silicone sealer they used!We are very pleased with the updated look of our bathrooms and the work done by GMC granite.

My wife and I were very happy with their work. A friend recommended Gohar and GMC Granite & Home Improvement to us for our Sept, 2017 remodel project. This was an elaborate project where we remodeled the kitchen--including a new pantry--and replaced all the flooring on the entire first floor with new tile and solid hardwoods. GMC started their work on schedule at the agreed-upon date. It was important to stay in touch with Gohar through the process. Gohars workers showed real craftsmanship and GMC delivered excellent value for the money we spent. A good experience.

Had a person come to measure granite. On sale for $19sqft. A small slab and good price. Then they add in absurd fees (like walking up the stairs is an extra $250). Fine. Was in a hurry knowing this was a sham. 4 emails and 3 calls later someone answers to say they dont have the stone I need (of course this is the second sale stone they dont have). So, they send a new quote for $38sqft. Rip off, false advertising, horrible service. Called someone else, doing the same stone I wanted for far less than this sham

This is the second home improvement project that GMC has done for us, the first being the painting of my kitchen cabinets. This time we had both our upstairs hallway bathroom and our downstairs powder room remodeled. From the start of the remodel to finish everything was done professionally and with a high level of quality work and products, I am pleased to show anyone GMCs work. The workmen were a great bunch of guys who wasted no time or effort in getting the job finished in just a few days. When they were finished, my bathrooms were better than I could have ever pictured. Thank you GMC and well be calling you soon for some more projects.Vic and Cristen CrawfordManassas VA

BE VERY CAREFULL! They offer low prices, however they over measure to make it up. We had 3 estimates done and they were measuring at least 50sqft more than everyone else. Plus they were adamant that their measurements were correct. However, I have my granite installed now, so they are very deceiving. Buyer beware.

I shopped all around NoVa for a granite slab I liked and GMC Granite not only had a pattern I loved but the price could not be beat by anyone else. I was reluctant to go with them because of a few negative reviews but my coworker who recommended them had nothing bad to say of her experience. On installion day, the slab was not as I requested (the seam on the wrong end of counter and certain swirls were included in the pattern that I did not want) but the office staff were very accomodating and remedied the situation the next day. My counters look better than expected and I am very happy with how everything turned out.

BEWARE. THEY ARE DISHONEST AND SHADY. The toilettes, faucets and appliances they use along with your granite are NON BRAND NAME so when something breaks, you cant fix them.. you need to buy BRAND NEW ONES. Its like these appliances dont exist (who knows where they got them from). We used this company to redo our bathrooms and kitchens for our house and a few rental properties we had. They have bad customer service through the process but delivered a beautiful product so we were happy... Until about 2 years in when everything started to break in every home. Its been 3 years since they did everything and we have home warranties associated with all the homes. Anytime something breaks - toilettes, faucets or ANY appliance they installed, no part is ever to be found with many of the multiple companies we have used to fix small little things for the appliances. Theres no model number on the appliance or parts. When you call Gohar (the owner) himself, he says that he will fix them, replace them etc. BUT then he just avoids your calls until you give up (I called him for months last year before giving up). Im now on year 3, and two toilettes are running constantly in the same home (its just the flapper for both toilettes so it should be an easy fix). The faucet has a part that came off. No company can fix these items because they dont exist. BEWARE because this is dishonest and they avoid you until you give up!! I called Gohar for the model number and part of both toilettes that are running to get a new flapper, and Im sure Ill never get a call back regardless of how many times I call and beg for such a simple thing that any honest company would happily call you back about. Ive never been frustrated with a company as much as these guys.

We hired GMC to update our kitchen. The job involved leveling a bar top counter to create a large peninsula, replacing builders grade laminate countertop with granite, and installing a herringbone pattern backsplash with basic 3x6 subway tile. Overall, we are very pleased with the services they performed. Our neighbors used GMC for essentially the same job. However, before hiring them, we did our research. We had two other local companies perform estimates, and GMC was BY FAR the least expensive. If youve read other reviews out there on the company, they range from absolutely horrible (including several cases through the Better Business Bureau) to extremely positive. After weighing all the options, we finally decided to go with GMC mainly because there is just no beating their prices. If you are considering GMC for your project, here is my advice:Learn everyones name and get everything in writing. Gohar is the owner and was very helpful. After meeting with Gohar, I spoke often with Kimberly and Stephany. Kimberly seemed to be the project manager, and Stephany was in charge of finalizing the paperwork. Before I signed the invoice contract, I had them modify the invoice several times to be sure that it reflected ALL of the work that would be performed, even the common-sense things you would assume are included. Dont assume they will perform any work that is not specifically stated in the invoice!Have the work competed at a time when you are able to be at your home everyday, and ask lots of questions. Communication seems to be the biggest issue within this company. The office staff do not always clearly communicate all parts of the job with the professionals who will be at your house. Everyone who came to work at our home was kind and considerate, but often in the dark about what exactly they were supposed to do. Each day that someone came to our home, I walked through the space with them and clarified exactly what they would be doing that day. For our countertop installation, they did not have all of the granite pieces ready to install, but Kimberly rectified the problem promptly apologizing for the inconvenience. For the tile installation, they did not bring the proper bull-nose pieces to finish off the edges, and explained that they were unable to locate them via the manufacturer. This occurred AFTER I had already clarified with Kimberly that I expected the installers to bring all of the necessary tile pieces with them to complete the job the day before. We solved the problem by having them purchase ALL of the tile materials needed from Home Depot instead, and it worked out quite well for us. This issue, along with the previously stated issue with the granite countertop, did mean that it took approximately one full day longer to complete the job than GMC originally stated. The bottom line is, they do pretty decent work for a VERY low price. If your renovation needs are fairly basic, you are on a tight budget, and you are willing to act as a second project manager so to speak, then I would highly recommend choosing GMC. If you have a larger or more intricate job and are expecting HGTV quality, I would recommend saving up and choosing a different company. Be realistic and dont expect a $10,000 job/service for $5,000. Expect issues with communication and anticipate that the work will take longer than originally planned. If you are able to do these things, I think you will have a positive experience with GMC as we did. We are very happy with our kitchen so far.

March 5, 2013 - Sthephany contacted me regarding the countertops and forwarded the call to the owner. He was more concerned with my review of his business than actually addressing the problem. From what I can tell, the original issue (not properly installing the countertops to the support lead to the granite cracking). No one had taken the time to actually to schedule an appointment to come and assess the damage and a way to repair/replay. They are despicable, and while he may have been in business for 12-13 years, currently his and his staffs professionalism and competence is non-existent.UPDATE to my earlier review: They NEVER sealed the granite. Weve had the countertops for about two weeks and it is chipping. When I called, they HUNG UP on me 3 times. Completely unprofessional. First assessment of them was spot on. Better off throwing your money out a window and keep the formica countertops.Do NOT trust these people. Not only couldnt they keep to their schedule leaving me without a kitchen sink or counter for a week; they didnt even complete the job.Dealing with this group is a complete nightmare.Do NOT waste your time or money on such an apathetic and lazy group of contractors. You would be better off throwing money out the window or burning it.Completely unsatisfactory.
