I came into the dealership as I have done four times in the past. The finance manager stated that my check stub was fake. Then he offered to get me a real one, to ensure that I get approved by the bank because we get everyone approved. I decline then he proceeded to say. This business is fake because I wasnt able to find it on Google. In which the business has been registered on Google since 2016. I was in shock and disbelief, this was the longest 30 minutes of my life. This experience was unreal and I never thought that I would be in such an uncomfortable situation. This guy was very unprofessional, rude, and arrogant. Buyers beware, I hope no one else endures this type of customers service ever.

Worst experience I have ever had in my 50 years of dealing with gm/chev. Please see my history for the last 9 weeks... Speaks for itself, problem not completely fixed.. Returned car to me and auto stop is still not working.. Will try another dealership, but never Michael Bates again. This dealership definitely doesnt know how to communicate!!

The employees told me I didnt request service for alignment, air filter replacement and to have a stripped lugnut replaced. But when I showed them the email confirmation with the services on there, I got a shoulder shrug and my paperwork to sign. They didnt replace the air filter because the truck didnt tell them too and they rotated the tires and put the stripped lug nut back on. Yes, my appointment was at 530, end of the day and people want to go home. But what kind of service is that for someones first time at your dealership? And this appointment was moved from Tuesday to Thursday to accommodate the service department. The manager called me on Monday to ask if that was ok so I moved some things around to make it happen and this was my experience...

My check engine light came on. I have the warranty that covers rental car coverage and everything. A lot of dealers are behind ( I totally understand). The dealer closest to me didn’t have any and this was the second closest to me.Called Michael Bates Chevrolet and the lady on the phone said they had in fact ten cars but because I wasn’t a previous customer she’s saving them for previous customers. If I were to take my car in wouldn’t that make me a customer? We were also going to look into a new truck. And it definitely will not be with them. So I am currently still driving around with my check engine light on because I can’t miss work to take my car in and not have a vehicle. ( the whole reason I got the specific extended warranty).I do have an appointment with another dealer :)

I took my vehicle in for service. Have never been disappointed with it. Purchased my vehicle from them and have gone there for all my servicing needs. Phil in service is great. He did everything in his hands to ensure my vehicle was taken care. I did have a small issue with a part coming in but he was willing to accommodate and keep me informed. Much appreciated!

I worked with one sales man and walked away from the car I was interested in. Then a week later I spoke with another sales man who was making a deal for a different vehicle. Then somehow the first sales man got involved. This created awkwardness and the two sales men had no personality. Neither of them were pleasant. They walked around during the entire purchase with grumpy faces on. It was the worst car buying experience I ever had! Usually the sales person is cheerful, pleasant and shows excitement for the buyer. These two acted like I was a burden. I would not recommend this place. Looking around I dont think I seen one person smile ever.

Unfortunately, I left without a recalled jack replacement and a dirty car after a week of the dealer having the car. Was I wrong to expect a washed car? We had a flat tire on our lease car. Phil and Jeff (in service) were so very helpful. They made sure everything was taken care of properly. The young man who changed the tire was very helpful as well. All the people in the service department were courteous and professional. I also was so grateful for my GM rewards which helped immensely with the cost. Also, as I sat in the waiting room a worker was leaving for the night and took the time to change the TV from cartoons to another channel for me. She did not have to take her personal time to do so but she did - and she was very pleasant about it. You have a great crew working there for you. Thank you Michael Bates Chevrolet!!

I was originally told I would have to find a ride to come pick up my car when it was done, but then later told I would be able to get shuttled back to pick it up. I was a little disturbed thinking that the shuttle driver only drove a customer one way and not both. I was so relieved when I was told I would be shuttled back. The service took a little longer than I thought, which would not have been an issue if I did not already have another appointment scheduled the same day.

Been buying from Baron at this location for years. Gotta say that he is hands down one of the most genuine guys I’ve ever met. If you want to buy a car (used or new) then you owe to yourself to come sit down and chat with him. The dealership had a great selection of cars as well as some after sale programs that are pretty valuable.The one thing this dealership has that others don’t though is the sales staff.

Came here for my first lease ever and was not disappointed. I wasn’t really sure what to expect at first but when I walked in cliff took great care of me. He had an answer to anything and everything that I asked.. I ended up getting a blazer which was not anticipated and I’m so glad I went with that choice. I’ve had it for a month and still text and call with questions and he always gets back to me right away. You really can’t ask for better service than that.

Don’t waste your time! Drove 7 hr round trip, full asking price in hand. Had the purchasing vehicle insured ahead of time (all at their request) since I was not from Michigan and sent them all the documentation ahead of my arrival, only to show up and the vehicle had a service light on. They had 2 full business days to have this vehicle ready since I had actual acquired and informed the salesman I was already in the process of financing a day earlier. Was told the issue was just a sensor and expected me to trust them at their word and still pay their full asking price and just take the vehicle with the issue. Sales manager said I needed to just trust them that that’s what was wrong. I trusted them to have a vehicle ready to sell. I trusted they would have been honest and given us a warning before we got there that there was an issue when they found it, not hit us at the door with it. When we were not willing to take it without the issue being fixed one would think they would fix the problem and call to fix the deal that was their mistake and collect their check. But instead they fixed it and did a shady deal the very next morning and sold it to someone else With no phone call or opportunity to get the “fixed” vehicle that they had already had me finance and insure. Worst dealer ship and business practice I have ever dealt with. Reading other reviews seems I am not alone in this area. Would be 0 if I could

Salesperson Kelly Wise doesn’t return phone calls or fulfill agreements made to purchase a vehicle. It was clearly agreed upon that a hitch would be added to my lease vehicle. That was a deal-breaker for my purchase. A month later I still do not have a hitch. It seems there is a shortage of hitches nationwide but Kelly could provide me updates and return a phone call to me. Very disappointed….

You had no loaner for me. You had no shuttle service. I had to walk home after I dropped off my vehicle. I had to figure out a way to get to work the next 3 days. In the meantime I have to pay for a vehicle I dont have. Nick was very helpful though and the truck was serviced very well.

The service personal that helped me was very professional and curitst. ( Jeff Edwards ) He explained everything in detail and made sure I understood everything before I left. My loaner car was ready gassed up and clean. They told me it might take up to ten days to fix my car, two days later it was ready to be picked up. They just had to update the cars computer system and that fixed the problem at no change to me. I picked my car up it had been washed, when the service guy brought my car around he pulled the seat cover off and the floor cover out and told me to have a good day. Everyone was great !

I purchased a 2020 Equinox Midnight Edition with only 65 miles on the dash. This thing is pristine, my family and I are in love. O want to especially thank Scott Tran for helping us find the perfect vehicle for us. Hes the kind of salesman you like, the one who actually listened to what you want and not try to sell you up on the most expensive model. My wife is a nurse and works with covid patients he took that into consideration when helping us choose and recommended leather seats so she can wipe clean them easier after a shift. It may seem small but thats why its so impactful, it was a little detail he heard while chatting with us and he made a simple suggestion that helped seal the deal. Purchased my used (32,000 miles) 2014 Chevy Cruze on 07/07/17 back when it was Rodgers Chevrolet. Upon arrival I told the guy exactly what I wanted, and was taken right to my car. No BS runaround like most dealers do trying to push cars that dont sell onto people that arent interested in them to begin with. Instantly got to test drive it, and immediately went inside to complete paperwork. Very smooth and quick for a busy dealership. Thats where the good ends. My 690 credit score counted as zero because I didnt have a credit card and hadnt built up interest in 2 years cuz my old car was paid off. So even with 3500 down I was hit with 12.5 % interest, and thats apparently after calling 3 different banks. So because I want it that day and theyre 30 minutes from closing, I didnt get a washed car, the inside wasnt vacuumed, and the tank was only half full when I left. 6 months later my stabili trak and traction control went out. After calling the dealership I get told theres nearly a2 month wait before my car could even get looked at. Ok whatever Ill drive it like this forever then cuz it still drives fine. Flash forward a year and my valve cover goes bad. Its idling so rough it felt like it was gonna stall out like my old cobalt did. So called them again and was told 6 weeks this time. Nope, bought the part outta pocket and fixed it myself. Year and a half later battery died and needs replaced. Then a year later, now 4 years current date, the coolant reservoir is leaking and the turbo charger is starting to go bad and will fall any day now. (95000 miles)Theyre 3 year warranty never did me any good and I feel like I got a raw deal tbh. Wouldnt

Unprofessional! Unorganized! Terrible experience. I reached out to Christian James and was told several times a 2021 Corvette was available. He kept trying to get me to put down a deposit - non refundable - even before the deal was negotiated with financing terms. I explained to him thats not good business. The deal needed to be negotiated first. He assured me the car was available. He took my credit application and ran my credit then texted me the next day to say he didnt know someone else sold the car. So now they ran my credit and took a ding on it for absolutely nothing. A professional would have spoken to his manager first and been told the car was spoken for. I called a manager there to explain this and he apologized, but I told him its his job as the sales manager to keep his employees informed of what the status is on cars. Especially when you only have one car of this nature. He told me he would call me back and never did. Christian James blocked my text messages and emails when I told him I didnt appreciate him running my credit for no reason. Im all the way from Houston TX and was willing to do business with these guys. You locals better watch out. We dont do business like this here in TEXAS!!! Find yourself someone better to do business with. Zero stars.

The repair was not completed the first time (after leaving the vehicle there for 9 days), so the problem recurred. The second time, after leaving the vehicle there for another 8 days, they finally seem to have fixed the Check Engine light but did not repair the tire leak (screw in the tire) that I specifically asked them to check. What ever happened to taking appointments? Clearly NOT a customer-focused dealership or service department. Very disappointed with the lack of attention to detail and the clear absence of a customer-centric focus.

My whole family has leased vehicles from Baron for years and this is my third from him. I live 35-40 minutes away now in Royal Oak, but still made the trip just to see him because I know that hell take care of me. He never tries to push me into anything I dont want or need. In fact, I appreciate how honest he is in the way that hell flat out tell me the best choice in a vehicle based on the budget parameters Ive given him. This time, I was really overmiles on my previous lease (which I had intended on keeping but then changed my mind), and he directed me towards the Blazer which had extra incentives that would keep my payment as low as possible while also giving me the utility that I was looking for - which I ultimately ended up leaving with and I love it. He could have went ahead with pushing the Colorado I originally wanted which would have landed me with a much higher payment due to my overmileage, but instead I felt that he truly acted in best interests in getting me a vehicle that checked ALL of my boxes for budget and capability. And this is why I keep coming back.

I came in for an oil change and Multi-point inspect.My car was making a whinning sound. I thought it needed power steering fluid. I thought they would check the fluids, and let me know.When I left it was still making the same sound. When I got home I checked the power steering, it was real low. I filled it and the noise went away. They did not even give me the multi-point inspect report. The service cost me $59.95 for me to fill my own fluids!!!! I was there for over 1 hour with an appointment. This also my 2nd time having a problem for the same service!!!

I received a call for an Offer Over the phone for $30 dollars off of an oil change.when it was time for me to pay I noticed that I was charged the full amount for the service. I let the representative know what price I should pay. She began to look in the system and noticed that there were no notes listed for the offer that I was offered.She asked me who did I speak with at this point I asked her to see whom actually made the appointment she located the person, and she informed me that they were from a call center separated from the dealership she was able to receive special permission from her manager To allow me to have the discount there needs to be a better line of communication between the call center and the dealership.

Tuesday the 6th my car had broke down so I was in the market to look for a car I spoke to Michael B not Michael bates but there’s a car salesman with the same name. He said he was going to contact me the next day which was the 7th before I went out of town and I didn’t get a call back I let that slide hoping he was going to call me Monday which that’s when I was getting back into town. Monday comes no call I then contact him Tuesday the 13th he told me he was going to call me back after he spoke to his finance manager and still no call back. I’m extremely disappointed in not getting a follow up since time mattered to me. Even if they were unable to help me I would’ve been okay with a call saying that so I could’ve moved on and found a car sooner. I found a car at a dealership but not from Michael bates Chevy.

Strike 1, 15 days to diagnose and replace a strut. Was not called when the service was complete I had to call and check myself after I was told it might be done that day. Then the oil change that was requested while it was in wasnt done.Strike 2, Had to wait 2+ hours for the oil change 4 days later. Compensation for my inconvenience? A $10 coupon off the oil change which still cost me $50.Strike 3, a FIVE hour wait to have a plug put in a tire because of a nail that was in the tire. I carry lease coverage on the tires and wheels or I would have gone to a local tire shop and had it done in 10 minutes. I was told it took so long because I did not have an appointment....for a nail in my tire...I cannot recommend this dealership for any service related issue.
