Took my sons 2003 Toyota Tacoma in to replace the valve cover gasket as the oil leak was getting worse. We ended up having to replace the wires and points - needed to anyway because they were cracking. That was three years ago and everything is still running great. The manager is a nice and honest guy. His price was competitive with other places in town. The place is clean and spacious and plenty of parking and a nice waiting area if you are waiting. Ive gone back with my other cars for oil changes and never had any problems.

Kinda mixed feelings. Dropped 2 different cars of for a headlight restoration and it looks amaizing on one car and the other cara headlights look like someone was in a rush and left the job half finished.No complains about the smog tests they have done and they do midengine cars for a fair price.Oilchange on yet another car was done without any issues

I took my car in to have it detailed on Saturday, I dropped it off at approximately 9:15 a.m. and when I originally made the appointment for 9:00 they said it would be a few hours but when I dropped it off he told me it wouldnt be done till around 2:00 p.m. at around 3:30 they finally called me and let me know that I could pick it up. I looked inside but really just gave it a quick skim through because it was late and it looked okay so I left. I got home and started looking into it further and realized that they did a very poor job they didnt move the seats up or back they didnt get under the seats at all they didnt get into my trunk area which technically isnt a trunk because its a car that doesnt have a trunk it just has a back to it that has carpet back there so they should have gone back there. They charged me extra for cuz there was some pet hair in the car and they didnt even get the pet her out that was so much pet hair dust or whoever detailed it didnt reach back far enough to get everything and so I tried to call them on Sunday and they were closed so I called them on Monday and he told me to bring it back in so I did they had it back there for about an hour and told me it was done. When I went to look at the car I told him Ill just finish it myself I didnt even have words because two times you couldnt do what I specifically pointed out to you so I brought it home and I spent about an hour on it myself I called Walter the owner back and let him know that I was not satisfied at all that his detail person needs a little bit more training. I asked him to give me a refund of the extra money he charged because he did not do all that he should have done and he refused he said that he would give me a free oil change which thats nice of him but if you cant even detail a car properly and you had it for a total of probably 8 hours I dont want to go and get an oil change at your place so I asked him again no Ill just give me the extra that you charged me give it back to me and well call it good because you guys did do some stuff correct and he refused and I asked him why and he said because he feels like they did a decent job and thats when I pointed out to him youre right you only did a decent job dont you want your place to do a good job and satisfy customers and thats when I told him I would never take my car there again not for anything and I do not recommend this Place for a detail. My daughter wanted to take it to sparkle and I should have listened!

I took my car in for an oil change and also informed Walter that my check engine light had come on and it was running sluggish. He said that if it comes on again to let him know. My car was there all day, and when I went to pick it up after they called, I asked a different staff member about the check engine light, he said, he would check it right then. As he was coming in, he started to talk to one of the mechanics, and hardly acknowledging me, told me the code, and went back to talking to the mechanic. I had to ask if the keys were in it, a quick yes, and I wont be going back.

Way too expensive wanted 1200 to fix a small dent

Reps were very prompt in gettting my Chevy Cruze in as travelling through to San Diego. Reps changed my valve cover and spark plugs but didnt properly re-tighten down multiple bolts. Oil leaked out from the valve cover area unnoticed for miles until I stopped in Lost Hills to fuel up. Discovered covered oil all on back of car. Took to another repair shop in Lost Hills where they fixed the discrepancies to another $65. My engine couldve been ruined by this error.

I called 2 days before asking for engine light diagnostic, the person Who answered told me 95 for 1 hour. I brought my truck in and I didnt get it back untill 3 days later! Then they add on work and charged me 196!! So unethical to not be honest!!! If I could give them no stars I would!! Never coming back!

Came here to repair a hole in exhaust. Service was fast, affordable, and friendly.But then they hit my back bumper against something that left white residue, scraping away paint in multiple places and leaving a nasty spiderweb of damage. They denied fault, and now the repairs to get that fixed cost more than getting the exhaust fixed to begin with.I will be filing with BBB to resolve this.

The main guy remembers my name and both my cars, always popping into the lobby to say hi and to hear what’s going on with the cars this time.My son has a 94 Toyota that he does not maintain well but these guys always help me decide on a cost efficient way to keep it safe and running.I appreciate the time they take to explain issues to me and discuss options. I rarely have a day off and they have always worked with me to schedule a time and date to get work done, once meeting me during off hours to drop off the Toyota.I’ve had bad experiences with mechanics either lying to me or making mistakes (once had a guy try to change my timing belt when I actually had a timing chain, etc) so I always do a little online research before taking a car into a shop. After inspecting my cars their suggestions always match my online research.I’ve had basic services completed, smog tests, AC recharge, body work, tires, detailing and investigative work done here. All completed to my satisfaction.Highly recommend this place. I’ve seen some of the bad reviews and find them completely unbelievable. I can’t imagine any one of these guys being rude or dishonest to their customers.

Had a big scare with a noise like a tornado coming from under the hood... got off the freeway and brought my car in to A1 Auto Repair where they found the minor problem and fixed it without any charge. Thank you for your graciousness!

I call on my lunch break and asked if an appointment is needed for a smog check they said no, I asked is it busy around 1pm because that’s the time I get off work,once again they said no to come on in. Come in at 1pm and was told they guy that does smog check was on his lunch and wouldn’t be back til 3 (2 hr lunch must be nice) So I ask what about tomorrow around 1pm? They say yes come back. The next day I show up at 12:30 and was told no smog checks today. Wait you told me to come back today, then they say it would be about 1 hour wait. I’ll take my business elsewhere. Very Unprofessional

A1 auto is a rip off.. the mechanics are either untrained or lazy... I had a check engine light on.. i had the codes read elsewhere.. they hit on misfire on cylinder 1.. A1 had my car for 2 days... never called me one time to tell me anything.. i had to call them to find out what was going on... they said they couldnt figure it out and the next step was 13 hours of work to open up the motor, for which they wanted to charge me $2,500... the mechanic said its either that or buy a whole new engine/motor.... I took the car to Mastertech, the diagnosed the problem and fixed the issue in 4 hrs for $300.. turns out it was just the spark plugs🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️... even on the service write up for A1 they said they checked the spark plugs.. it turns out they didnt... DONT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO A1 AUTO REPAIR!!!! THEY ARE MONEY HUNGRY AND WILL NOT DO THE WORK THEY SAY THEY DID.

The car basically sat in our driveway while we spent the past three years in Australia......after an hour and $39.99 later, the lenses were near new! My car window wouldn’t go up and my daughter uses that car saying I’ll get it fix this weekend I promise. 3 months later as another rain storm was coming I drove past spoke to one of the mechanics he said to bring it in they could take a look at it and see if it was off the track or the mechanism needed replacing. I got them the car at 230 and by 430 my daughter was picking it and I could pay over the phone so I didn’t have to miss work. Amazing well kept place, reasonable prices, and top notch work. Will work around any request. I went there for a transmission oil change on my 2013 nissan. I requested OEM/make nissan brand transmission oil. They went the extra mile to acquire the specific oil and contacted me when it came in (about a week), to schedule the appointment.

So I am college aged and have a busy schedule with little to no knowledge of car care or maintenance/upkeep and I LOVE coming here for my oil changes! Such great customer service, people who actually care! They have the best prices around, cleanest and nicest facilities with experts in whatever repair/maintenance needs you may have. Brought in my 2013 ram 1500 to get the AC system serviced a week ago, they told me it had no leaks and no refrigerant. I came in today and they want to charge me because there is a leak and was empty again. Im not pleased by the service when the only thing that changed on the vehicle is the miles on it.

We have taken our truck in 3 times for service and they have been friendly, thorough and professional. They even gave us a free car wash! We have been pleased.

Called to ask about getting my car detailed, they said it would be around 1 hr. So I come in, and then they say 2 hours. I drop it off and walk to a store while waiting and get a call that because my car had dog hair in it they wanted to charge an extra $60. I thought thats why people brought their cars in, to get CLEANED. Why would I bring a clean car to get cleaned? After 2 1/2 hours with no call I walk back to wait and they say it will be another 40 minutes. an hour goes by so I ask again and they say 15 more minutes. I go to get my car and theyve missed vacuuming several large places (under seats, etc) and smudges/grime were still in various places in the car that I didnt notice until getting home. I also realize my bumper sticker is missing. I know it was there when I brought it in, so I call and they claim to have never seen it- so must have been stolen or something while it was there. My car is MUCH cleaner than it was but they still wasted over 4 hours of my time and only did an okay job, and lost my bumper sticker. Would not recommend.

Overall satisfied with my experience, smogged my truck fairly quickly and the price was fair $50. But it was very weird, I came into the showroom at 10am they open at 8am and all the lights were off and no one was inside and no music or any anything on wasn’t even sure if it was open. I had to wander out to the service bay to get help. The tech helped me out but was very short with me and board line rude. Might go here again but probably try elsewhere first.

I was starting into a 9 hour drive, when my check engine light started flashing today. I pulled off the first exit I could, and searched for the nearest auto shop open on a Sunday. Im so glad I found A1 Auto Repair!They were able to run diagnostics on my car right away, order a part they didnt have in, and install everything, having me out the door within a few hours! On top of that, they were clear with me about what was wrong and gave me options on how to address the problem. I didnt feel pressured into spending any unnecessary money. I interacted with multiple employees there, all of whom gave great service and were consistent with each other in the information they shared. They gave me a great deal on labor and were friendly to boot. Im really happy I could get back on the road today, and its all because of A1. Thank you!

You will not get what you pay for or what they advertise. Requested A Gold Detail Package and was told it would take 3 hours. 7 hours later it was finally ready. When we arrived the car was still dirty, it hadnt been waxed, and the seats hadnt been shampooed. Pointing this out the tech told us they dont hand wax as the package breakdown details, but that they do a spray wax. All these things were said in front of Walter, who seems to be the one in charge, and all he ended up doing was offering to wash the car again and gave us a $40 discount. Ive lodged a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and you should steer clear of any services this business offers.

A basic smog check took longer than usual because they were training someone oon how to do it. When they finally finished, the trainee (who was also serving as cashier) suggested that my rear shocks might be leaking. I told him that I had just had my very reputable mechanic do a brake job, so I felt confident that the shocks were fine. He then suggested an oil change despite the fact that my oil life indicator said that I had 60% remaining before it needed to be changed again. No wonder it was not very busy there.

Went in for a smog test on my Honda accord and was told there would be a 30 to 45 minute wait for the job to be completed and it took them less than 15 minutes to get it done, the guys there are friendly, knowledgeable and very professional, from now on it will be my to go service shop.

Went early on a Saturday for a smog test, and I was helped very quickly and was in and out in under 30 minutes. This is the second time Ive been to this shop, and the experience has been great both times.

After replacing a dead battery and corroded posts and cables, in little to no time, they washed my vehicle inside and out!! Friendly and courteous. I would reccomend!!

My experiences have all been great. I have three (3) Toyota’s that I have serviced here.

Deliberately disconnected non emissions device during smog check and failed my visual due to check engine light. Duh, you just pulled a sensor connector apart. Waited a couple weeks went to separate smog station passed flying colors even after smog station noted the failure from this place. As the tech explained, visual inspections are just that, visual, tech not supposed to dig around and pull stuff apart look not touch . Avoid this place, totally shady.ReplyingThe CEL, was not on when the car arrived. The car passed the functional test. I can bring you throw paperwork from your shop showing it passed. It was not until your tech pulled my knock sensor off that the cel illumimated. Try to keep disabling cars and see what ca smog refs have to say about it after you get complaints of disabling cars during inspection. I will be submitting a complaint with CA BAR discuss. Again your job, look dont tug out wiring harness of non emissions related equipment. Of course I went somewhere else and paid again, you disabled my car once why the hell would I let you touch it again.

The Tech was really nice.

I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. A friend of mine left this place and later had an oil leak. Oil leak was caused by the work that was done at this shop because what they did on the car was where the leak appeared. Owner made false accusations about him fixing but clearly and thankfully we had a witness to testify he did not state that. It’s sad when people can’t take ownership to their faults. The right thing to do is fix your mistake when all evidence points to you. But we live in an era where people want to scam you and make holes in your pockets unfortunately. I’ve heard they have been investigated by Better Automobile Bureau. I’m glad they have and well the next time they do we will see the review they get!

I went in on an early saturday morning last month when they opened to have a smog check for my moms 2009 Chevy Mailibu. The service was great. The price was great aince I used the coupon they have in the consumer guide. The smog check was done im aboout 35 minutsz as they had 1 car ahead of me that was also being serviced. The mechanic and cashier was very friendly. I will be coming back to take my pick up and other cars for smog checks,oil changes and detailing.
