Horrible experience: small store, higher prices, attitude, no photography and a horrible work etiquette...Let me start from the beginning, I went in and was asked what I was looking for (like every other place)... I said I have a bunch of pictures of my favorites. I was not told about the recording policy (which none out of six other places had) until I put her first dress on.After trying on all my options she told me that you could video chat with them” speaking of half of my bridal party that are out of state. (One thing I dont understand is, whats the difference? You can take photos that way either way..). On top of it the entire time she spoke about the stupid photography policy and complained thinking my Mom may have taken a video.Lucky for her? We couldnt get a good photo anyway and ultimately didnt go with her because of it. Keep in mind the store is so small I couldnt even fit my bridal party which maybe larger but I wouldnt have been able to fit a total of 10 people in there. It was tight just bringing the MOB.When I was walking out (clearly upset) after trying on multiple dresses she told me I could call back to bring everyone in...still not understanding. I ended up not giving a deposit that day ONLY because I couldnt show half of my bridal party since they are out of state.I went to another place yesterday and found the same dress for more than $600 less.After, I found out my attendant went and spoke negatively to the person who referred us saying we recorded her the entire time and my mother who didnt pick one dress out when she normal does help (knowing my style) was too pushy. Id love to see the proof of us recording her, since I still have no footage of the dress and all photos were deleted that day after her ranting about it.Horrible etiquette...the dresses are under lock and key. Nobody, including your mother can see if there is a dress you may like. Nobody can stand near the dresses besides the attendant and bride.

Can’t take pics so it’s a small chance you’ll remember what your top choice looks like and come back - it’s also a small boutique (enough only for a party of 3-4) with no AC - just fans and the door open. Vassa is nice and she tried her best to stay within my price range but I still give it an average rating because it wasn’t an ideal experience. She dresses you so you have to change in front of her. She said I should have called ahead if I was early(I arrived 15min before) because she would have told me to wait in the car but I definitely don’t remember her saying that I needed to that over the phone. I explicitly told her over the phone that I live in the city and had to take the LIRR but I think she forgot. Which makes sense because it took 4-5 calls of “phone tag” and voicemails to get a hold of her because every time she was able to call me back, I was unfortunately in a meeting. By the way, I asked over the phone about her no pic policy because I saw reviews mentioning that and I asked if she can make an exception to a top choice or something and she said we can talk about it in the store - she should have just said no she doesn’t make exceptions and I would have gone to a different boutique because even if I find a bridal dress I love, I need at least a couple of days to make sure it’s the one so I don’t have buyer’s remorse for something that costs a lot of money. Long story short - I get that it’s a small business but it wasn’t worth the long travel over. Just average

Vassa is amazing!!! She made the entire wedding dress shopping experience so personalized and seamless. She truly helped me find the perfect wedding dress for me. The dress I ended up choosing was not even the style I thought I wanted. She just knew based on my comments from trying on different dresses which dress I would love. She truly has a gift. Her talent with the alterations is incredible as well. My dress fit like a glove. I highly recommend her!!

Perfect experience from start to finish! Vassa never gave up to find me the perfect dress in my price point and for my body type. We finally found the perfect beach wedding dress! All appointments were one on one private. All fittings were done by her and were reasonable $$. She made sure it fit perfectly before taking it home. Highly recommended!!

I got married in October 2016. I had a heartbreaking experience at another bridal shop because I was a plus size bride. My sister ended up googling different wedding boutiques near us, as I literally became so depressed and wanted nothing to do with bridal stores and chose to settle for David’s bridal but she knew that was not the experience I wanted so she came across a couple, one of them being Vaasa. She called her made an appointment and it was as if she were heaven sent. You have your own time, it’s a beautiful shop, clean, and she makes you feel so welcomed and beautiful. For her, nothing was impossible. We gave her our budget, and that’s what we went with. She never steered me from my budget or tried to sell up. Not that it would’ve mattered because I put my complete trust in her and her eye. Since then I have had several friends get married even friends of friends and I have recommended them all to Vassa!!!! And if I ever renew my vows, this is where I’ll go!!! She is a beautiful person inside and out and I promise you will not regret stepping foot into her shop .

I went with my daughter to look for a wedding dress. The atmosphere is cordial, the private appointments give it a personal touch and designs are beautiful. Seamstress is very knowledgeable in her field. Vassa came recommended by my daughters friend and she and I would certainly recommend her place to others.

Vassa came highly recommended as I have family in the industry. Her store is yours for your entire appointment which is amazing! She has an amazing eye for what will look good on different body types.I made the mistake of telling her my high budget & that I was getting married at Oheka. Vassa found a dress that looked amazing on me but it was the last thing I would have ever picked. It didnt fit my personality & I didnt want white but she only had the sample in white & told me it came in ivory as well. Every designer has a different color ivory so I really wanted to see their version. I was obviously very hesitant to say yes to the dress. Vassa doesnt have tags in ANY of her dresses & doesnt allow photographs. After my appointment, I dropped my mom off & she found the dress online (it was an Allure) & she started calling stores to see if they had the dress in Ivory. 3 other stores quoted her CONSIDERABLY less than what Vassa had quoted me (about $1000 less alterations are separate). Of course, Vassa will say her dress is custom. This dress was simple but she made modifications to it. Not that her modifications made it unrecognizable.She has a great eye & I would definitely trust her with alterations but where I am getting married or what my budget is should not effect the price of the dress.

Vassa is the wedding dress Guru! Its the BEST experience I had while shopping for a dress. It is so much more personal and intimate than the factory/commercial dress places. If you want to feel your best and have confidence in the delivery/fitting department...You need Vassa!

First off I am a strong believer of Everything happens for a reason I was introduced to this boutique by a receptionist when I had to rush in for an emergency root canal! Anyways I am glad I had that root canal Bc I loved my experience here. First off talk about the Bridal Experience Vassa closed down the whole shop for you and your close friends and family so the entire event is an intimate one. And she knows her stuff. The first dress was the one I fell in love with and eventually purchased! I absolutely got that feeling! And I loved the experience so much that I decided I wanted a reception dress and she helped me in finding just the right one again. I would absolutely recommend you calling and making an appointment!

I knew I wanted to get my dress from Vassa even before I met her. I heard great things about her through friends and Facebook. Working with Vassa was the best experience I can imagine. I wasnt crazy about any of the dresses she had but she was willing to order me a sample of a dress that I was eyeing for awhile by a brand that she carries (Enzoani). Of course I loved the dress and it was the one but as a backup she did order me other styles that were similar to that dress. Seriously dont go anywhere else. Vassa is worth it!

I bought my wedding gown and veil from Wedding Dresser Couture by Vassa for my 9/19/15 wedding and it was truly an amazing experience. I would 100% recommend going there! After unsuccessfully searching for a gown at a number of stores on the island, Wedding Dresser Couture was finally recommended to me by a family friend. From the moment I walked in I felt like I was Vassa’s #1 priority. Since all appointments are private appointments I had Vassa’s undivided attention, and she was knowledgeable, patient, sweet and funny-really just wonderful all around. She truly listened to what I had to say and did not pressure me or rush me as other stores had. When I went back a 2nd time to try on the dress I had liked I felt extremely comfortable saying yes to the dress! From then on everything went as smooth as could be. My dress and veil arrived on time and I actually enjoyed every fitting appointment. Vassa’s professionalism and attention to detail not only made me extremely confident, but extremely excited as well. I knew my dress would fit perfectly, and sure enough it did.
