Using this company was worth every penny! Our lights and decor are so gorgeous and classy looking. We were even provided with a mock up prior to installation to ensure that we approved the overall look. When a bulb stopped working, I called Holiday Lights and they said they will send someone over to fix it immediately. They displayed great customer service and made our home absolutely beautiful without us doing any labor. I would absolutely recommend this company!

I have been with American Holiday Lights for over five years now and highly recommend them. My single huge evergreen on the corner of my block is the talk of the town. This year we switched to multi colored LED and absolutely love the brilliant colors. They are very responsive to any issues that arise and immediately correct them, e.g. strand goes out, etc. Overall..excellent!

From the initial meeting to get the quote, working and speaking with the office team, and the prompt and very nice installers. These guys absolutely made the holidays for me and my family exciting and joyful beyond my expectations! The house had never looked so beautiful, and the team they sent to do the job was professional and courteous, as was the lady I spoke with at thier office to set up the appointment. I have used American Holioday Lights for several years now. I will continue to do so. They do a great job and will fix any light that goes out. They put the lights up when I ask and take them down as soon as it is safe for them. That is the way it should be.

The lady we scheduled our design appointment with was really nice. Someone came out to help us and they were very professional with really good ideas. They even printed out a photo that would show us what the lights would look like on our house right on the spot. Everything was very professional from beginning to end. Our home looks great! We will be using them again next year.

Getting ready for my third year with American Holiday Lights. Easy, friendly people to work with and they do an outstanding job. One year we had a snow storm right before a party and while clearing snow off my deck, I accidentally cut the cord for the Christmas lights the day before a party I was hosting! They came out the same day and repaired my lights and charged me nothing -- Great customer service!

American holiday lights did a great job on the Christmas lights on my house. It looks great, they were on time, great communication. We will use them again.

If you want to be treated horribly and disrespected, then this is the company for you. Over 6 months ago, I started getting quotes only to be completely blown away by the $200 increase. Girl wouldnt apply my coupon or return any of my emails. So, finally I asked for supervisor info still no response. Finally, speak to guy from Operations who apologized and said Dana will call me and get us all set up. Never called me. NOTHING. I called back again asking to speak to owner Jeff and receptionist said shell handle it and get someone right away. Still no response. Save your money and use a company that will treat you with respect. There are plenty of other companies who do this and are cheaper. First time I used them, I tipped their guys so generously and gave them hot tea. This is how they treat their customers. Never experienced such unprofessionalism.

Great people to deal with! Ill use them again next year for my holiday light decorations for my house. Ive hired a few other local companies over the years but always come back to American Holiday Lights. Their crew is always professional and great to work with. They even come out and fix any lights that might go out and then take them down after the season. I think their lighting installation packages are very well priced, especially for the level of service and skill you get.

I called around several different Christmas light installation companies near me. Before I called American Holiday Lights, I wasn’t that optimistic, but when I spoke with customer service, she made me feel welcomed and comfortable while explaining in details the entire process. I felt good with my decision to move forward after the rep arrived. The installation crew was very professional . Thumbs up to American Holiday Lights! I highly recommend them!!

Amazing performance. Your staff completed the total decoration of my house this past Tuesday and its beautiful. Your staff of installers were terrific and left my house looking better than I’ve ever seen. Its neat, colorful and professional looking with every bush and tree covered in lights and the roof trim too. We’ve been using this company for a minimum of four consecutive years now. Although the price has slightly risen each year. This is the first year customer service has been interruptive and rude. Our deposit has been paid.... yet we have been badgered incessantly over a signed contract, which was been sent twice, The company is now calling requesting permission to install lights the first week in November. Hopefully next year, we’ll have a better experience ... or we’ll switch company’s all together.

My initial experience with my estimator was good. Tracey was very thorough and I received a quote with pictures the same day. The installers arrived on the date they were supposed to, however were unable to complete their installation that day due to not having the correct lift truck. They cam back 2 weeks later and finished the installation. The lights were beautiful and I received several compliments. when there was a tree out, it was fixed the same day. That is where my good experience ends unfortunately.Upon final payment, I realized that the final amount I paid did not match the original invoice. This due to some change in the original request. I called SEVERAL times requesting an updated receipt for payment to reflect the actual amounts paid so that I could reconcile my company credit card account. Finally, after a call and email demanding that someone call me back, I received a return call and an updated receipt.While I was on the phone I asked about when the lights would be taken down seeing as it was mid-January. I was told the following Friday. They did arrive, however, again did not come with the proper lift to remove all of the lights and wreaths from the higher points. I did not receive a call or email to inform me when they would return to finish the removal. I have again called a few times with no return call. It is now January 28th and I have lights that are sagging off the roof and wreaths that just look ridiculous now. If I had a lift truck, I would remove them myself.I was planning to use American Holiday Lights for the next Holiday Season, but now am definitely rethinking that decision.UPDATE: Following my review, American Holiday Lights showed up the next day to remove my lights and wreaths. Jesse, was extremely apologetic for the lack of communication and the extreme delay in the removal.

I can not tell you how happy American Holiday Lights made my familys Christmas last year. After using another company for my Christmas decor the year before.American Holiday Lights beat them in every department and more!! The team was professional, courteous and receptive to our requests about the outdoor Christmas light design we wanted. Our family loved our lighted yard and the lights they installed on the house so much we are having them back out this year! We just scheduled our install for October!!!

My experience has been NOTHING BUT FRUSTRATING. Here is a detailed account:After calling they sent a guy out to meet w/ me & provide a quote. Hired them to do nearly $5,000 in Christmas lighting & decorations. Specifically said I wanted to choose a time in late November for installation, they said scheduling would call. Despite this, THE NEXT DAY, & UNANNOUNCED, they’re installing all the lights on my house. This is early November & I didn’t want the lights installed this soon. Nevertheless, the install guys were nice & worked hard. I offered them use of my bathroom, water & coffee, & tipped quite generously.However, they FORGOT TO INSTALL lights on BOTH the attic dormer windows & on a tree in the backyard, both of which were clearly marked as part of the quote on the picture they provided me of the work that they would be doing. Despite incomplete work & strange scheduling where they just show up when they want to, I received their first request for payment of the 75% balance owed. I don’t believe the job to have been adequately completed at this point.They came out for a 2ND TIME to attempt to correct the over sites. Next day the lights wont come on. Over the course of the next week some lights are working, some arent, some trees are brighter than others. Apparently there was a miscommunication & they hooked up the Christmas lights to my in-ground uplighting. Few days later, the lights are on during the daytime. Clearly the timers are NOT WORKING PROPERLY, possibly due to their age and condition.They came out for a 3RD TIME to change the cords & fix the problem. Again, they came to my house completely unannounced, & after dark. I heard noises under my patio deck & ran out there to see what was going on. Understanding that they’re a lighting company & that its probably a heck of a lot easier to handle fixing & manipulating the lights after dark, but please dont show up at my house at 7pm unannounced & start rifling underneath the back deck, just give a call or text first to announce you’re coming. Again, they send me a 2nd request for payment of the balance owed, & as I do not believe the contract to be satisfactorily completed at this point I have not sent in the balance.Here we are now two weeks after the initial installation & I am STILL HAVING PROBLEMS. Came home last night at 10pm to find all the lights off. It gets dark at 5pm, the lights should be on after sunset. Not when the homeowner comes home at 10pm & has to manually turn them on from the timer switch that doesnt work. I will say that when the lights work they look great.I have had ZERO contact from any manager or supervisor despite asking several times to speak to someone. NOBODY has reached out to apologize, offer a discount, attempt to smooth things over, or generally manage the situation. Furthermore, the office staff is INCREDIBLY RUDE & seemingly incompetent. All they can do is take a phone number & tell you that somebody might call you back.Now I need someone to come out for a 4TH TIME to see why the timers aren’t working & why the lights dont come on at night. At this point in time I am contemplating just cancelling the contract since they clearly are incapable of fulfilling the job.As of this post I do not believe the job has been adequately completed, nor am I satisfied with the customer service given. NOT RECOMMENDED.UPDATE: 11/26 owner called to apologize. Amazing how someone reached out so quickly after posting a bad review. He seemed friendly, told me weather affected them detrimentally, & so forth. Said he’d send someone out to rectify the problem to put a better & newer timer (why was this not done the 1st time) & fix any other issues. He then requested I change the review & I politely responded when the lights work I would. Well it’s 11pm on 11/26 (VERY SAME day they came for a 4th time) and wouldn’t you know it the Christmas lights are ALL OFF. $5,000 worth of lights that don’t work. 4 separate visits and they can’t figure it out. Headache after annoyance after frustration.UPDATE: 12/1 lights working & look amazing.

Jeff and his team are the most reliable and trustworthy Company. I did my lights installation when I lived In Naperville 5 years ago I was so Impressed with their level of Professionalism which their team did on my Christmas Lights Installation.That I asked Jeff to teach us the Business when I moved to Colorado. Post update!!!I must say that customer service is everything! I am changing my review to 4 stars to reflect one of the best follow up calls to an incident I have ever had. Two hours later the owner personally called me to do an after action review on what all went wrong and what could have been done better. He researched the situation, listened intently to my complaint, explained how the ultimate storm occurred and took total ownership and accountability. Never rushing me off the phone. In the end he wanted to make it right and committed to making internal changes to ensure this doesnt happen again. Trust me it isnt about the money...in fact it is everything about communication. As consumers we understand that things happen especially when there is weather to contend with in Chicago.I am a true believe that when you take the time to write a negative review you should also go back and update and share the positives that may come from that situation. Thanks for getting the crew out here and for making the holiday much better.Original PostTotally ruined my Thanksgiving this year. Beware!! If you want to have to constantly follow up about light installations only to have them blow you off and not show up before the holidays then by all means use them. If I could give them a zero star rating I would.I used them for the first time last year and although they werent forthcoming that the cost of the lights didnt include the entire roof, I was pleased with the look and feel of my professionally decorated lights so when this year rolled around it was a no brainer to continue with the service despite their increase in price blamed on the tariffs.I returned the quote and paid my down payment with the understanding that I would have my lights installed the week before Thanksgiving as that is what was stated in the initial contract. Due to the lengthy stretch of good weather I received a call in October inquiring about installing the lights early. Customer service stated that they would come the week before Thanksgiving and power up the lights and install the remaining decorations. The week before Thanksgiving came and went and no lights and no call. I finally called Monday before Thanksgiving only to be told that I was on the schedule for Wednesday. Fortunately I was going to be home that day and could confirm that they installed the appropriate decorations. Well the day came and went and no phone call and no installers. Mind you I was supposed to have them installed before the holiday. I called customer service the Friday after Thanksgiving late morning and was told that they didnt know the installers hadnt shown up on my scheduled installation date and that her manager wasnt in so she couldnt tell me anything more and that she would tell the owner. That does nothing for me who requested and was told that the lights would be up before the holiday. They had no problem taking my money or raising the prices but you cant call and tell me that you arent going to show up. As I type this review I received a call back informing me that they will take $100 off of my balance. I still have no lights. Their excuse for not contacting me is that the office closed at 5 on Wednesday. When part of your job is holiday light installations and that is during the holidays there are just some things you should do when your customers have paid for a service.Not worth the headache, disappointment or disrespect and given the cost for this service you would think they would treat customers like customers they appreciate.

American Holiday Lights are great. When it comes to Holiday Lights, service is everything and these guys do what they say they are going to do. Highly recommended!

Third year in a row i have used american holiday lights - pricing is reasonable - installers great -- very accomdating -- the lites look great !!their follow up thru the season is excellent -- have replaced bulbs and timers immediately after my call in for help

I am looking forward to getting lights up this year! Last year, AHL did my christmas lights and it looked so professional and so fabulous, we ended up on the Naperville trolly light tour! The guys who put the lights up were so professional and did an amazing job! Might even consider halloween lights this year.
