This is my go-to place. The first time I visited these people was to buy two six panel solid core doors. They were odd size to begin with. These fellows are fast friendly and a down home group of people. They did not stop till I had my doors and they were very very reasonable with pricing them. I didnt have to wait long on them to be built. And Im going back Monday to pick up some really weird size windows 40x53 and 30x53. I will never buy my supplies from anybody else. If you havent checked them out go ahead run down there to see them. You may want to put their number on speed dial cuz you will be using them a lot.And on top of everything I did not realize that they are a veteran owned company until I was recently looking at their website to leave them a review. They are just freaking awesome!!!!!

A customer service nightmare. Just wow! We walked in to what I believe to be a showroom were passed by 2 people who again I believe worked there as they went into offices, and no one spoke or greeted us. THEN we proceeded to walk toward a stock yard and had to approach a cigarette clad man who treated us as if we have just walked in in him in the bathroom. With all this being said I will just go to the box stores. At least someone will help you!

Big selection of doors and windows

I had these guys custom make a front door frame complete with 2 side lights. After giving Tiger the measurements he needed, the frame was completed the same day. I had the frame installed the following day by a professional carpenter and it looks great. Excellent craftsmanship, good quality materials and 1/4 of the cost from the big box stores or online. I would definitely recommend.

This place is unbelievable. Did.not get any thing right with my door order, even after many attempts to help. They ordered a door, installed the doggie door . The doggie door could not open the way they did it. Put in the screws backwards,no way will I visit again...

Workers are so down to earth, helpful and nice. Answered tons of questions, worked to create exactly what we wanted at a very fair price. Door will be completed in 3-4 days, which is weeks faster than any other place. Will definitely visit them again for our building supply needs.

After going all over the area looking for the right door and never finding what we really wanted, we stopped in to Building Material Surplus this week. Within two minutes, we found the door we were looking for and at a price below the other “surplus” and home improvement places.I brought in our old door and they cut the new one to match it so we didn’t have to replace the whole doorframe. We got it home and it fit like a glove. After adding new hardware and a fresh paint job, it’s just what we wanted. Could not have gone any smoother.

Cheap doors maybe, but with a cost…Our GC suggested this place for ordering doors for our new house so we visited a couple of times, the first time just to take a look around and get an idea of pricing, and Levi was helpful in answering our questions. We also discovered a type of exterior siding we didn’t know about, but this was the most positive of our experiences. For our second visit we took our house plans with the door schedule, prepared to place orders if we were offered good deals. There’s not much helpful information on the website so I had called beforehand to ask what some of the doors were made of (e.g., mdf, solid wood etc.) and the man I had spoken with over the phone (Tiger?) described the inside of one door brand as “crap”. I appreciated the honesty but I don’t know why this place would sell products they don’t stand behind. When we arrived we explained what styles of interior and exterior doors we wanted and showed him our plans, at which point he made some unnecessary comments about our house and called our architect “an idiot”. I had been led to believe that they had good deals on solid wood doors but was told these were very expensive – something he could have told me over the phone, and we don’t exactly live close by. They did follow up a few days later with some quotes on solid wood doors, though not all of the brands we’d asked about. In the end we decided to order our doors from a different company as I didn’t see any advantage to buying here between the brands they carry, the lack of transparency and the snark. The people here are entitled to their opinions but we don’t have to give them our money, and I don’t appreciate having our time wasted.

Easy to deal with.

Definitely worth visiting and worth talking to the guys about what you need. Its fun to walk around and see what they have for sale. They have discounted/surplus materials but can also order in what you need if they dont have it from the same suppliers the lumber yards buy from. Its a more personal experience. I have worked in the building materials business for 20 years and found dealing with them to cost less and be more dependable and enjoyable than the more published lumberyards. Kinda of a secret.

I wanted to replace two exterior French doors. I was told to bring the doors being replaced into the shop so there would be no mistakes in preparing the new ones, i.e. cutting to length, boring the hole for the knob, and cutting out for the hinges. They did not cut the door to the correct length nor did they cut the cutouts for the hinges to the correct size.

When it comes to needing supplies to do home repairs and remodeling, Building Materials Surplus is my first stop. Ive checked others and theres no comparison. And, they do custom work when needed.

They don’t tell you there is a no exchange, no return, no refund policy until you see it on your receipt then it’s too late. I made a huge mistake spending my money in this store . My advice is to spend your money somewhere where you can feel free to exchange or return the product if you need to

Pulled in at 2:55 on a Saturday afternoon.. Apparently they close at 3.. even though Google says they are open til 5.. Tons of people working there.. but no one was willing to help me.. told me they were closing to come back.. I told them I drove an hour to get there and they all just shrugged their shoulders.. I wouldnt suggest going to this place..

Was wanting interior doors. They make them to order seems they do not stock any. Went to Lowes they had them in stock and cheaper. UPDATE. 2 gentlemen were standing out front. I asked for 3. 32 inch and 1 24 inch interior doors they told me it would take 3 days ..Also told me Lowes or HD would not stock them either. Felt like I was talking to a used car sales man. Lowes had them in Stock and 2 dollars cheaper per door.
