I booked the Saba trip with Dive Georgia months ago, not knowing how much I would need a vacation this week. I was grateful just to get away...but I was astounded by the effort of everyone involved to make sure this was a GREAT trip. First, Dive Georgia got us upgraded to the Queens Garden resort. It was beautiful and I was able to relax and enjoy my down time. Second, they got a dining plan added to the trip at no extra cost! Then, I realized that all of the small details like arranging transportation, food, drinks, gratuities, etc., had all been taken care of by the travel team at Dive Georgia. Emily, their travel coordinator, learned that I was interested in photography and even let me use some of her equipment during the trip to try it out! I could not have designed a more perfect trip to enjoy diving on a tropical island, eating delicious local cuisine, and having views that would rival any postcard!

Brian and his team are amazing! Dive Georgia was essential in getting me back into diving after a long break. They asked me what my goals for diving were, and set me up with the right equipment and classes. On top of all of that, they set up some amazing trips. Im so excited that I get to participate in two of them this year. The trip to Saba was absolutely amazing. I cant wait to go on the Bonaire trip!

Brian and Emily are the consumate experts in all things diving. From gear to skills, training to destinations Dive Georgia is able to help you with whatever your needs and skill level may be. Dive Georgia creates some of the most memorable trips, as well, where every detail is thought out. I cannot recommend this shop highly enough.

Heres a story: I belonged to this group on Facebook called, Georgia Dive Buddies. I’ve been in it for years – maybe 5 – and have both picked up tips and contributed to the discussions. The other day, a new diver asked about places to get an advanced open water certification. She wanted to get certified in the ocean, not at a quarry. I was first to answer and suggested one dive shop in Panama City Beach and one in Destin. I also suggested she check with local dive shops and named two. Other respondents also *explicitly* echoed my recommendation of the dive shop in PCB.Stay with me, I’m going to tie this back to the Dive Georgia. My post was immediately removed by the admin of that group. None of the other posts by other people, also naming stores, were removed. Why? According to the notification I received, I had violated “Give more than you take to this group. Self-promotion, spam and irrelevant links arent allowed. After first warning, you will be removed from the group on 2nd offense.”To be clear, I have no commercial ties to any of the shops or dive operators I recommended, except for having been a customer and speaking to that experience. By definition, my answer was not self-promotion, spam or irrelevant. My answer was relevant because it addressed a direct question proposed by a group member.Confused, I re-posted my recommendation and specifically called out the admin. Shortly later, my post was removed, and I was “banned” from the group. It troubled me to learn I knowledgably and honestly answered a question and was banned for it…so I wanted to understand who was behind this.As I researched the group, I learned it was tied to Kracken Springs, a local dive quarry about an hour away. As I continued to research, I realized that quarry is operated by this shop. (Or was, it’s not been open after a fatal diving accident that occurred earlier this summer.)That’s when the lightbulb went off for me: they removed my post because I named two local shops that they deem as competitive. Of course, you wouldn’t know that unless you did the research…because they are not open and honest about that with the group. In other words, the group is a veiled marketing effort for this shop, masquerading as a group that good for the local dive community. And they removed a legitimate answer to protect that veiled.I’ve been in their shop. I’ve made purchases from their store. I never realized they owned that Facebook group, but these actions cause me to call into question everything this store does.If they aren’t candid and transparency in marketing, what else aren’t they candid and transparent about? Therefore, I will no longer patronize their store. I not make any further purchases. And of course, as local diver with strong ties to the local dive community, I cannot recommend their store, dive operations or groups.Update RE: response from the owner.1. The owners response is not true. I have purchased dive gear - circa 2016 or 2017 - in that shop. And Ive frequented it many times. I was in the shop just a week or two ago looking to buy a new one. However, I did not purchase during this last visit because they did not have my size in stock. To be sure, I wont visit again.2. Right now, at this moment, there are no rules about tagging dive shops on that Facebook group. In that same question, other respondents also tagged dive shops, and those remained. The admin only removed my posts, because, unknown at that time to me, they see those other shops as competitors. So, its marketing, and they are not transparent.3. The shop could try to make amends, many do in response to reviews, but not this one. Instead, they doubled down on petty, irreverent and fleeting moment on social media and made it personal. This has led to a permanent review and lost a customer forever. How businesses treat people matters and has consequences.4. Safety indeed is paramount in this activity, and integrity paramount to safety. My recommendation stands. Customers and prospects can decide for themselves.

Dive Georgia has several programs that are offered to Veterans that are wanting to use their VA education benefits for Scuba Diving. However, one class they offer stands out particularity, “ScubaPro Service Technician-EQ”. This class has pre-requisites that are required from ScubaPro its self. Meaning you have to be working for an authorized ScubaPro dealer. Question? Did Dive Ga. notify ScubaPro that they were going to offer the ScubaPro Service Technician as part of their VA program? How can Dive Ga. offer this as a VA approved class? Lastly does the VA know about the work requirements for this class? Is Dive Ga. going to offer every Veteran a job before they take this class? If so how long will they be employed for?For anyone to be allowed to offer any classes that are going to be paid for through the Veterans education benefits, they have to apply and be approved. So instead of using my VA benefits for just a one day class, I paid the $280 out of pocket. Now I’m being told, since I do not work for a Dive shop I’m not going to receive the certification or a refund. Now the class is offered for $195. When I took this class, I was unaware of the employment requirements. I, however was able to sign up, take the class, never once was asked if I worked for a Dive shop. I drove 5 hours one-way for this certification class. If any Veterans have taken this Dive Ga. ScubaPro Service Technician class and are not working for a dive shop. Dive Ga. owes the VA Education a refund. I am also inquiring with the VA to see if they know about the employment requirements from ScubaPro just to be able to take this class.Side note, Dive Ga. offered me a “PADI Equipment Specialist Certification” $48.60 plus training fees in place of the ScubaPro Service Technician $280. With everything I have recently learned, I do not trust their prices. With all the hiccups, I do not want the certification from Dive Ga. Now, I want a full refund. This is the first and last time I will be doing business or recommending Dive Ga. for any of your Scuba needs. While I was there two customers walked in wanting to turn in equipment for servicing, they were told a three week turn around

Other than the retail staff, who are rockstars. Not a good place. They are greedy and the shop wont fix issues or refund purchases, trips, or anything for pretty much any reason. So, its just an okay place until you have a problem with them, then customer service is nowhere to be found. They dont care and you might be better off ordering online or using another shop in the area. And if you are a Vet and thinking about using your VA benefits with this shop. Be warned. You need to ask a lot of questions upfront, like what are they charging the VA (your benefits) and when can you expect to actually have them file your certification. I waited 3 weeks after I finished DM and they still hadt submitted my application to PADI.Edit: since the shop decided to enter a comment 5 months after my review that is again full of lies. I invite anyone who wants proof that this shop is not only horrible with veterans but doesnt care to make their wrongs right in a timely manner to contact me and I can provide proof of what my review says.My being an employee has no bearing on me using my VA benefits with this shop to complete my DiveMaster to wait 3 weeks for the shop to finally get around to finishing my application (yes, which did include me having to sign a form but they never told me that this form had to be signed. I had to contact them several times to find this out). They charged the VA thousands of extra dollars for dive gear that I had no idea they were charging the VA for until I completed my training. THEN they refused to provide some of the gear that was on backorder because I wrote negative reviews about them. After I open up investigations through the VA, the shop eventually gave me the gear they owed me and banned me from the shop because I called our their failures.Veterans, I strongly warn you to stay clear of this place.

Awesome facility. Awesome staff. Fun crew.. not sure if this happens all the time but ..served us hot chocolate and coffee. They also grilled hot dogs and burgers for everyone who was present. Not sure if they do this all the time but they lit a bon fire today because the temperatures were really low.. Thanks guys.. I will be back in the summer.

You are better off buying your equipment on Amazon. Less then knowledgeable staff. Over priced equipment, and if there is a problem you are on your own. Customer service is the lifeblood of any organization. Everything flows from it and is nourished by it. Customer service is not a department … it is an attitude. The before mention is an old statement, one which we live by. I have been a branch manager for a multi-million dollar company. A company that has stores from the Mississippi River, to the Atlantic Ocean. This is the first time I have encountered any business that does not stand behind their product. Scuba equipment is not their product. Customer service is their product. Shame on you Dive Georgia, for not standing behind your product.
