Ive had nothing but great service here. Ive been in here about a dozen times and every time I leave happy. Today I brought in a wheel that had a bolt go through it. Even though the mechanic was obviously busy with other things, he stopped what he was doing and helped me out. I went in there expecting to replace the wheel and wait a few weeks for parts. Instead he did a quick repair, put a new tube in, mounted the tire, and aired it up. When my older father in law brings his bikes in for service, they come out of the store and help him get them out of his truck. The customer service here is nothing short of great. The shop itself is nice too, I love the music playing and the huge selection of bikes (when its not a global bike shortage). You always hear about these cool bike shops with people who love doing what they do running them, this is one of those shops.

One star because I cant give them zero stars. Theyre standoffish and rude. Their dog is way too aggressive to be allowed to be running around the business freely. Was bit and chased by the dog everytime I went there. Not great.

I have gone hear for years and I got my first bike here and my mom and grampa were here from the beginning of the store but as of the last 2 years they were rude their dog has bitten me and they never fully fixed my bike I had the brakes bled almost every month and every time it worked for about a day and they would go soft again. And even more recently I had my rear shock rebuilt from them it cost 150 bucks it didnt work that same day it went soft multiple time and now will not hold air they also tried to sell me a new rear shock but it wouldnt arrive for 2 years I went to revolution cycles he sold me the same shock for a 100 bucks cheaper and got it with in 2 months i will be going to revolution from now on and his customer service was way better. They will not listen to the rider of the bike if heOr she is not an adult.

Ive been in here several times. Each time, I get the vibe that I am annoying the employees who seemed bothered to have to interact with customers at all. Nearly every person I talk to has had the same experience. If you want the gist of it, just read the owners response to negative reviews here on google and expect that same attitude when you visit the store.

What a gigantically good store, for me at least. Traveling North toward Vancouver Canada, this wonderful vehicle the chain keeps stretching. Luke got right on it, went out to get a special part, glance was as nice as could be, the whole staff friendly generous with their time expert. You are lucky to have such a good store.

Good people, good service, you get what you pay for, dont expect something for nothing (except advice). I go there for all needed parts and service.

This review is long overdue.Its safe to say that is rare to find businesses during this crisis that can afford to be so good to their customers that it could seemingly cost them money. These guys have met me almost INSTANTLY every time Ive pulled into their lot. I had been having recurring problems with my tires on an old bike and they unconditionally met me each time and charged me initially and didnt stop until I had a permanently fixed bike instead of their repeated time at it. This is a statement of honesty and a true business.This does NOT mean that you should expect a freebie! But it is indicative of character that transcends economic uncertainty. This place is amazing and you can rest assured that your money is well spent there and goes toward a local business that sets the standard for professionalism and decency.

These guys are amazing I brought them my bike that didnt work correctly at all and when I got it back it worked perfectly like nothing was wrong in the first place. Also the employees where very nice and helpful weather in person or over the phone. Thanks Bearded Monkey you guys are great.

RUDE and ARROGANT customer service .After seeing other reviews I am pretty convinced they need to work on customer service.The owner comes out almost yelling at me for not parking correctly on one of the parking spaces, and even after that incident I still make a purchase. I do understand it was my fault for not paying attention, but maybe I little bit of politeness would of been good. For the record If you guys are having a bad day please don’t take on customers...Remember customers are that ones that support and pay your bills for your small business.....I my self own a business for the last 17 years and never never treat customers that way ..

I came into the shop with the expectations of purchasing a new Specialized mountain bike. After reading a sign that said no mask no service, I put on my mask and began to walk into the building. I must have missed a sign that said no Customers in the building. Because after I walked in, an employee mocked me by saying “ What do you think you work here?” He continue by make a mockery in front of his whole staff members and use me as an example. I then walked out and I will never go back to bearded monkey again after that disrespect. I have been saving for a about a year and looking that the bikes in there shop and was ready to make a purchase. It’s to bad they have to treat costumers like that even when someone makes an honest mistake.

Walked in and walked out within 30min, they fixed all 3 of my stroller wheels for $80 some dollars. Very satisfied! Thanks guys, great job!

I had a great experience with the guys at Bearded Monkey. I like in the Tri-Cities and was looking everywhere for a bike for my kid. We called Bearded Monkey and purchased a Trek bike over the phone. They held on to it for 3 weeks for me. Then, when I finally had time to go pick it up on a Saturday, I called them to let them know I was coming and they were willing to stay in the store an hour after closing time to allow pick-up. Great customer service.When I arrived, each parking spot had very large and blatant Please stay in your car signs, as many businesses are having to do during this pandemic. I understood their vantage point of trying to do business safely, and they came out within one minute to help me.I asked if they wouldnt mind staying just a little bit longer to help me out to buy a bike for myself. They didnt act at all like I was putting them out, even though they were supposed to shut the store an hour earlier and go home for the weekend. They said that there is a national shortage on bikes, but showed me one that I liked a lot. I purchased that one as well and they even offered to build a few more things on both bikes -- again, after closing time.After it was all done and they had already taken my money, I was loading the bikes into the back of my truck and he helped me to make sure that the bikes were in safely.There may be a shortage of inventory around the country, but there was no shortage of customer service at Bearded Monkey. Just go in with realistic expectations, and they just might blow them out of the water for you.Running a business during a stressful time with Covid is not at all easy. These guys are trying to navigate how to roll with the punches and do whats best for the public while also keeping themselves healthy and well.

They had a Dog 10/10 business

This was my first experience at this local business and unfortunately will be my last. The employee working outside in the parking lot was Abit of a jerk..He said wait near your vehicle and you will get help faster. By reading the reviews from other customers there is a trend of this owner disrespectful to customer. Its a shame. Be going elsewhere now and wont ever promote this to anyone in town for repairs or purchasing a bike.. Ever.

I took my bike’s tire today for repair and as I waited I inquired about a bicycle for my 11-year-old. Not only did they recommend a very good product, but also I was able to purchase it at a very fair price. Great service, I will definitely be going back!

Stand up guys that will work with you and take care of your needs no matter what you need. Please understand that bike service is much like having your car worked on. Sometimes unexpected things come up and you have to wait longer, pay more, etc. If youre clear about expectations and needs they will get it done, even if it costs them an extra penny.

I went to possibly buy a bike with my daughter . I was standing out front with my mask around my ear,with intensions of putting it on before going in. A guy came out with his dog,the dog lunged at me barking then jumped on the side of my truck barking at my dog in the back,without any action from its owner.The guy yelled at me,GET YOUR MASK ON. Hope he was just having a bad day

I was giving them free bikes to sell or take parts off of. They were cluttering my garage. While giving them FREE bikes they were very rude and spoke like I was wasting their time.

Great Place. Broke a spoke on my bike on a ride the day before leaving Yakima. Called them at noon and asked if they could fix my bike that day and they said bring it it. They fixed it and found a couple more warn spokes and fixed those as well. Very friendly and did the work at a fair price. Love the beards.

Awesome! These guys know whats up. New management in the past year is making great changes, I havent had any problems. These guys are much easier and more fun to deal with than the guys at valley and revolution. I feel these guys just enjoy the sports of cycling and mountain biking, and want everyone to enjoy it also. While they other bike shops around Yakima make you feel inferior, and talk down to you. I recommend going into Jakes and getting a Giant, or have them work on your bike.

That guy lance is condescending to his customers. You own the business and you act like the king in your kingdom? The only nice person in there is the young mechanic with the beard. Do you sell anything for bikes? Or is everything an order? Peddling what you want to sell, instead of the bikes people need. I thought it would be different after the old owners left, but it’s worse. Go to revolution where you will be treated with respect, and they will sell you a bike that fits you. Where is a Lou’s Columbia Cycle or a good family bike shop when you need one? Bearded monkey is maybe the state’s worst bike shop? I have been to over twenty five in Washington.

By far the best bike shop in town! They only sell quality products.

I was in a jam and needed my chain fixed on my BMX bike it was a broken pin, and they quickly fix me up within minutes I was back out riding and free of charge. Great customer service staff is awesome.

I cannot express how impressed I am with Bearded Monkey Cycling. My 11 year old son wanted a very specific bike, and had visited the shop to check it out. After a couple of weeks, we went in to purchase it. Lance remembered my son, and treated him like a real customer with respect. He answered his questions and went over the bike with him so he knew what everything was. I appreciate the amazing customer service!

Excellent experience. I had a couple of minor issues with my kids’ bikes and even though they were very busy, one staff member stopped what he was doing and came and diagnosed the problems, fixing one of them on the spot in about 5 minutes. He refused to take money! That says a lot. I will go back for more substantial repairs.

I have bought 3 bikes in the last 3.5 years from Valley Cycle/Bearded Monkey and service has been suburb. They guys at the shop are always ready and willing to answer questions and help me diagnose any maintenance issues or order in just the right part or gear that I am looking for.Really enjoy the weekly road and mountain bike rides the shop hosts as well!

I came here after having a horrible experience at the other bike shop in town. I was warned about this place and that only made me want to come here more. The help I received was fantastic. The two boys let me speak about what my needs were before offering their advice and opinions. This really made me feel like they were listening. They talked about the product they thought would fit me, a composite Giant road bike made specifically for women. It wasnt in stock but they told me they were expecting some in real soon and would call me when they arrived and were assembled. I cant wait to come back to Jakes.

Needed a bike box for plane travel for the Specialized I bought from here. They recommended the hardcase and even took the time to take the bike apart in front of me so I could learn (they used bubble wrap and zip ties, very considerate and thorough) and packed it in the box. They were awesome and beyond helpful. Thanks, guys.

Awesome local bike shop.New inventory to check out and test ride.Mechanics on staff for all kinds of repairs maintenance or adjustments.Community events like weekly rides and occasional get-togethers.Also a full line of indoor exercise equipment in stock and delivered.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Got electric-assist bikes here. Included were adjustments and tune-up. Theres a fitness center here, too. Staff mostly have great beards.

You sir are a liar. I never cussed at anyone. Why do you make excuses for having no integrity??? And then ask friends to give you good reviews?😂 When you ask for a part, they should just look for it. In your case, order it. By reading my post and writing a bmx lever works in a pinch, it is pretty obvious what kind of bars I have. Maybe your bad attitude has infected him, and now he is becoming like you?😂 You keep selling garbage to the ignorant masses. The way you do business is why people shop online.Don’t argue with someone when they are trying to buy something from you. You own a bike shop, and you are trying to tell a lifetime fixed gear rider that brakes are different on fixed gear bicycles? A lever is a lever unless it’s a combination or hydraulic. Fixies don’t have gears so that leaves out combinations. There are no hydraulic disc fixies. I’ve used bmx levers in a pinch. Revolution didn’t argue about anything, and they didn’t have to order it. I bet your a blast to hang out with?

I took my bike in for a tune up-they came out to my car and helped me unload and brought in for me....the tune up was done within just a couple hours-the service was excellent!! So glad I found this rad bike shop!!! Thanks guys!!

I ride a 14 year old Trek Navigator, which still works very well thanks to these folks, who always meet my needs, large or small, with aplomb. As a weight trainer, I also like their fitness shop, when I need a plate or special bar, saving me the necessity of going online.

These guys are doing it right, commitment to Excellency and customer service is imperative when making big purchases like a new mountain or road bike, and these guys are top notch.After a difficult afternoon at our local bike shops in Wenatchee, we called in a last ditch effort to find a couple of models to ride and try. Not only did Lance have what my lady was looking for, he adjusted his schedule staying after close for us JUST for her to try it out. He took the time to discuss key fitment points, made several adjustments to aid with rideability, and she ended up walking away with a new Trek!This is local bike shop service at its best. If you want to sell your product, youve got to take the time to know your customer. Although we came from several counties over, these guys made us feel right at home. 6 stars for sure.

I phoned & asked if they had a 1 25.4 mm seat post in stock. They said yes. I drove there. They didnt have one. They took my name & phone # and said they were ordering it and it would be in the next day around noon. I phoned the next day, and they said it somehow missed getting in the order, but that it would be there Monday. A week later I phoned and Luke said he had a bunch in stock. I asked him to check since Id already wasted a trip. He checked, then said he didnt have any and hed just sold his last one an hour ago. I think he was Trumping -- that is, lying. I try to support my local bike shop (LBS), but not that one anymore.

Was going to spend up to 2500 (this visit) for my next cross country tour but zack was rude from the start and ran me off. For the amount of cash spent in hoby shops i expect to be treated well, i read a lot of bad reviews about this place and they are accurate. Tip for zack (pleas, thank you, and sorry will get you far in buisness.) Tip for the owner (have a public restroom, its a basic human need that a high end buisness should cater too.)

Ive been there 2 times and ask for a layaway plan on a fat boy bike,one girl was nice and really sweet,but the guy in charge there was eather racist or byest.not everyone has over$2000.00 in the bank for a supper nice bike.in short words he said I sale bikes to people with money I dont know why I went the 2nd time but glad I did!I went to the bike shop on fruitvale in Yakima instead, they actually saidthat ducks man!We will help u and we know not everyone has that much money for a really good bike!happy to help!AMEN!!!

I purchased an older Schwinn bike from a couple worker and knew it needed new tires and wheels. I took it in and asked for a quote and one of the workers told me Id be better off throwing it in the dumpster. He then convenientlyrics tried your sell me a $1300 bicycle.The woman at the front was rude beyond imagine, so I went to Revolution Cycle on Fruitvale. Both workers at Revolution were friendly anf helpful in restoring and repairing my 50+ year old bike. Id recommend you do the same, unless you like being disrespected and swindled.
