My husband brought me to this precious gem last Saturday for small business Saturday. And I immediately fell in love with the store in every way! The sweet, welcoming clerk, the rows of options are a dream. And the prices, cant beat half off cover prices for used books. I left with 4 books for $20!! And I absolutely will be returning! This is now my favorite store for books!

Bret has a book on every subject and author. I could spend hours here but hes so organized you can find your favorite author.

Ive come to like the idea of used books very much. Instead of letting them sit on the shelf and collect dust, take them to Encore where they can get more use.

Encore books sells both new and used books. The books are arranged by type, then by author. I have found many books that I am interested in there.Recently I brought a box of my old books there. The owner went through them and selected the ones that he believes he can sell. For those, I received store credit worth half of the original retail price of the books. That credit is transferable, including to an account for students to buy books to read for school.

Very well organized store. Wide variety of books for all age groups. Friendly staff to point you in the right direction. If they dont have it, there is a good chance that they can find it for you.They will take your gently used books and give credit to your account towards future purchases. I can always find books that I want to read here.

Rudest customer service! We were so looking forward to finally visiting this book store and was not even greeted by the lazy manageror worker. We both asked for help from the manager at the desk, who stayed playing a game on his computer and was given no eye contact and treated with such annoyance. Would have loved to walk around the book store longer, if it werent for such a poor lack of respectful help and customer care.

I love books and the fact you can bring books in and get credit to buy more books is awesome! They have romance, children, young adult, self help, fantasy, sci-fi and alot more. They have tons of books.

Great selection, but the prices are horrible. Some of the used books I was going to purchase ended up being more than what I would pay to buy them brand new. The owner replied that their books are half off, but if thats true why was I told that the books they deemed to be like new were only 10% off regular retail price? One of the books that they want $23 for had obvious damage and when I asked the cashier she said that was just from people taking it off the shelf and putting it back a lot.

The only reason it got a 4 was because they had nothing on the shelf on Emily Dickensons work. Otherwise, I have always enjoyed Encore Books.

Ive been to all the bookstores in Yakima and this one is by far the worst and the gentleman working there apparently is only friendly to customers he knows. I couldnt find anything and being on a cane the store was hard to navigate. Do yourself a favor and go to Inklings Books. What Yakima really needs is a Barnes and Noble, a real bookstore.

This is my all time favorite place to go book shopping. The people there are wonderful and very friendly. I recommend this place to anyone I talk books with.

COOL! I wondered where this book store went! Its now in the old 5th ave deli shop and as always, a great selection of books. I went down there today because Ben Mayo was doing a book signing. If you ever went to YVC, he teaches math there.

I am not sure why this book store is getting good reviews. The service is so horrible, the guy that sits up front wont help you to save his own life. And to top it off he charges FULL PRICE for used books, spines will be cracked, pages torn ect and he charges full price. I am not quite sure this is legal much less ethical. I have shopped there twice, the first time I thought ok, maybe its just for the books I got. Second time I knew he was a scam artist. I refuse to shop there anymore. If I want used books I will shop elsewhere and get them for used book prices. And as for having good selection, he does have a lot of books, but he will have 10 of the same copy sitting on the shelves, so a lot of them are just the same book. Good luck going there and getting a deal.

My favorite place in Yakima to buy used books - they are all half-price or less and are well organized. Plus you can turn in books you dont want and get credit to buy books that you do want. Thank you to the owner(s) - Im sure its a lot of work to keep a place like that going.
